The problem is that it a main component of black licorine is glycyrrhizic acid which blocks 11 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase

Long winded explanation: Basically the 11BHD makes cortisol into cortisone

but when it’s blocked. We have cortisol that acts like aldosterone in the body

and aldosterone’s role in the body is basically to:

  1. Conserve water (your body thinks it’s not getting enough so it conserves water)
  2. It get’s rid of Potassium in the pee but like potassium is mega needed for your body so if it’s too low you’re going to have muscle cramps and a lot of other issues
  3. It get’s rid of acid in the urine

SO BASICALLY

it makes your entire body alkalotic (low acid) and our body works on a strict acid regulation

so when you fck with that; then we get a lot of issues like headaches, muscle pains (in the short) and then coma, other symptoms(long term)
