It’s not even 10 pm for me but I’m so exhausted…
welcome to my BOO (bc it’s spooky season so it’s now biased opinions only for october bb )
here is a full list of women Corin Blackwood would and would not marry and why
Margaret Hastington: Would. Corin and her would definitely get along in the sense that she is soft and easy going. A good wife for Corin who does not want to speak with or interact often with his wife. She would be easy to handle and push motherly duties onto while he was away on business. Likewise, I think overtime they’d grow to be good friends as their temperaments compliment each other very well. I think she’d be someone Corin could easily talk to.
Aurelia Ellis: Would NOT. Orpheus has probably written dozens of letters outlining his closeness with her and their courtship era. She is not someone Corin would seek out for marriage simply because he would not want to hurt Orpheus. However, I believe they would get along very well and would make a possible love match if it weren’t for Orpheus (and Corin’s lack of title). Unfortunate circumstances because they would make a very cute couple if it were not so impossible.
Emma Wycliff: Would. Emma is fraile and innocent. The kind of subduable wife Corin is looking for. She seems like the type to never tell him ‘no’ which he would love. A good candidate for a stay at home suburban mom.
Bridget Beckham: Would NOT. Corin is very demanding in his day to day. A woman who could not read his letters without assistance, see his mappings or work, or be able to run a household without extreme assistance is of no use to him.
Priti Mehta: Would NOT. Corin and Priti are actually friendly and Corin very much enjoys her company. I would say perhaps they would marry in another life where they were both titled. However, Corin is not looking to marry a woman whose family comes from a similar background to his. I also doubt Nikhil would allow Corin to marry her
Dorothea Addington: Would NOT. Dorothea is far too strong-willed and outspoken for Corin. She has too many opinions for a wife. Plain as that. Corin would not want to deal with her.
Phoebe Willoughby: Would. Phoebe seems gentle and morally sound. She is someone who, although has opinions, is flexible and willing to compromise in certain circumstances. I think she would provide a good challenge for Corin’s isolation while allowing him the freedoms he needs to run his business in peace. I think they are really compatible actually.
Albina Northwick: Would NOT. Albina is very opinionated as well. In a way that challenges authority and norm. Corin would find this off putting. However, she holds an intellect and curiosity he would love to explore with her. She might make a good partner for future Corin. I could see her actually going with him on his business trips to different trade hubs because of her desire for adventure. If they fell in love, only if, I could see them working out well.
Belle Rose Fleur: Would NEVER. That’s right. Never. Right…?
Corin sees Belle as feisty, opinionated, manipulative, cold, calculating, and all around terrible. He would not have his cousin associate with her if he knew, let alone marry the woman. Belle is everything Corin cannot stand in a lady.
Maisie Rutherford: Would. Quite the opposite, Maisie is everything Corin desires in a wife. She is kind, gentle, soft-spoken, and morally adept. Her lack of financial stability makes her an easy target for marriage beneath her status which is precisely what Corin is looking for. She is agreeable and would make a nice wife. Someone Corin could speak to with ease when necessary and rely on to care for the children and home when he’s away.
Abigail Brantley: Would NOT. Corin holds the Brantley’s and the Fleurs in the same regard…none. He would not go near her even for civilized conversation let alone a proposal. Their personalities might align, but it would take a great deal to overcome his deep rooted grudge.
Joane Claimond: Would. Joane is similar to Phoebe I think in that her opinions are her own yet she has a more societally neutral side to her that allows her to be a good wife. She knows the bounds of expectations and is willing to follow them to an extent. She would make a good wife. One Corin would likely ignore, but a good wife.
Lydia Ellis: Would. The sister that his cousin is not in love with. Lydia is young, naive, and outspoken. Her youth allows her to be manipulated in a way. Her family expectation sort of keeping her contained. If her family would allow it, Corin might take her on as a marriage prospect. The Ellis girls hold a strange excitement that I think Corin would appreciate and overlook her more unseemly qualities. She would be a challenge for him for sure, but I think after a few years of petty fights, they have an opportunity for love. I think their personalities and interests align. She is very similar to how Corin used to be when he was younger, so I think that aspect of her would intrigue him and allow him to let a lot of her behaviors slide. I could see them together in a Simon and Daphne sort of way.
Louisa Brantley: Would NOT. Another Brantley girl. Born of the same lineage, Corin would refuse her for that alone. However, it just so happens she also bears a personality Corin would avoid like the plague. An angry sort of independence and outspokenness that he would detest. All around no.
Azucena Osuna: Would. Strangely, despite her more off-putting tendencies. Corin would not mind a woman of her predispositions. A woman interested in the company of many, would hardly have time to hold his heart. That is the kind of wife he would prefer. Someone he could never fall in love with. Azu would be perfect. She is easily swayed, would not mind being left alone as long as Corin wrote to her, and would entertain herself with other men while he was away. As long as she was open to birthing a child for him, Corin would not mind where she roamed outside of their marriage. I could see this being advantageous for both of them honestly, allowing her space free of romantic commitment and the security of a stable and supportive husband.
Adeline DeLaney: Would. Adeline is hardly within Corin’s reach this season, however, like most, he would hardly refuse the diamond. She is gentle, kind, has always been good to his cousin, and is a woman of perfect social expectations. She is looking for a husband and children. She is poised and refined. She would be the perfect bride. Someone he would admire as a partner and appreciate as a mother. It would definitely be a romance formed through mutual respect and friendship, if there was romance at all, but I could very much see them married. They would be very compatible and I think would fill the roles the other wanted in marriage very well. Adeline, however, is obviously looking for love. Something Corin can’t provide.
I think that’s everyone!! lots of current potentials. as Corin changes / heals / grows I could definitely see this list shifting. ladies who were yes’s becoming no’s. no’s becoming yes’s. etc. I’ll do another one in like a month from now and see where he stands lol
@TheBridgertonRP
so what you’re saying is
massive planning potential
Yeah I was expecting the would not
it’s a given he’s looking for a trophy. she’s definitely not that.
absolutelyyyyy like I honestly think Corin would find her adorable. because she is eerily similar to how he was growing up. I think seeing that part of himself in her would draw him to her. honestly, she could even be super healing for him in a way. kind of reaching out to his childhood self through her. I could definitely see them getting along so well
but like how cute is the idea of her tagging along on business trips that’s so something that would happen if they ended up together
She absolutely would love to do that yes. They could have such an interesting future if they would end up together.
Neither is Albina thought, she would never accept feeling like that.
well hence the would not
Fair yes
Louisa would rip him a new one.
yes also hence the would not Corin would be terrified of Louisa for sure
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
I can respect that
