It’s more the idea that all conversations might be listened into by the royals without us knowing. Realistically you would be able to deduce when the queen/king is nearby enough to listen in. Just that that can randomly happen with all our characters without us being aware and able to adjust our characters behaviour is what I don’t like

That part is fair tho

Albina would be smart enough to not say anything that gets her in trouble when a royal is nearby, she would act differently around them honestly

I get what Beni is saying though, they’re at the ball so it should be assumed that anything you say or do is being seen/judged by everyone including the king and queen :joy:

But it’s in their “house”, so to speak, meaning that even if they weren’t nearby, they could have people who are listening in and reporting to them.

I mean, the same goes for Lady Whistledown. She’s doing the same thing anyway. What if she hears it, writes about it, and the queen reads about it that way. If she dislikes that then the same thing can be down. And this is not new information, as we all new about Whistledown’s writings and the trouble that would cause.

I don’t think that’s realistic tho, that literally everything could be overheard. Have you ever been in a room with many people talking and music playing, no way anyone could actually understand anything but what their dance partner is saying.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking, sine they’re hosting it and all.
Walls have ears. HAHA

See that’s the thing but even in the show (idk if you’ve watched it yet) but the town people are always listening and watching even if you think they’re not and that’s exactly what lady whistedown does, you don’t know who she is so you don’t even know if she’s right beside you which is the scary thing :joy::sob:

Do you know how many servers and waiters there would be perhaps? I don’t know. Although, I do know that for the time period they were paid little to no attention by the upper class.

Like I get non verbal things for sure, what Albina did with Orpheus could have been noticed even if she did it in a way that worked with the dance. But actually what they say, I’m torn in that…

I mean I have no problem with the danger it’s thrilling
But not as realistic

I mean, I haven’t seen the show but I’m going by the time period and was thinking this.

Okay, maybe on the sides yes, but they wouldn’t be on the middle of the dance floor :joy:

Yes it is the queen and king; but if you’re distracted in conversation, one might not notice them nearby

Plus, once again, yes - to Cali’s point. Everyone in this place (all servants) report to the queen. And the queen does love to know what’s going on. Everyone is being watched; but that’s the name of the game.

LOL. Yeah, I get that. However, given the dancing of the period, they never really touch. At least not closely. So being quiet is something rather hard. Meaning those dancing either side would most likely hear the conversations if they wanted.
