As all of the campers gather back into the dining hall after their meetings, I clear my throat to get their attention.
“Hello campers, I hope you all had a great morning getting to know each other. Now, it is time to move onto the next activity planned for the day… hiking!” I say in excitement.
Several campers smile happily at the news, and several frown, turning to their peers and whispering in annoyance.
“Now, now, settle down for just 1 more minute. All of the counselors will join you on this expedition, but I will be staying back here in case of an emergency. If anything happens, find one of your counselors and have them call me, and I will pick you up in one of our cars.”
I turn to the other counselors and ask “Did I miss anything? No. Alright then! You can go back to your dorms and change if you’d like, then make your way over to the beginning of the trail near the woods in about 15 minutes and you will get going.”
I dismiss the campers, and watch as they all head off to their dorms.
15 minutes later, the counselors stand in front of all of the campers, ready to get on their way. “Good luck, and have fun!” I say, watching as they wander into the woods in a nice line.
@CampSeafare this is kind of a free socializing time as you are hiking. This activity will last until 2020-07-23T16:00:00Z and then we will move on. Please have all of your convos done by then!
I was a bit exhausted from swimming with Corey, so I wasn’t too happy at the news Mr. Brooks had. I went back to my room and changed, then blowdried my hair and put it into a simple braid. I grabbed my water and headed out the door, making my way over to the woods.
After heading on our way, I see the girl from the party last night and decide to actually meet her. Maybe she was just homesick or something. I doubt she is that bad.
I run up to the girl and introduce myself. “Hey, I’m Val. I saw you the other night at the party I think.” I say with a smile.
“The girl I saw at the party drinking the blue drink jogged up to me. “Oh, hi. I’m Jane. Sorry for
staring at you during the party. I was just really confused as to what you were drinking.” I chuckled. @Kat
I laughed a bit as she explained why she was staring. “Oh! I thought you just didn’t like me or something. But that makes a lot more sense.” I say, feeling stupid that I didn’t meet her sooner.
“I like surfing when I’m home, but when I’m away traveling I like walking around each city and going shopping.” I say with a smile.
I hear someone call my name from a little farther back and I turn to see Alex. “Sorry, my brother is calling me. It was nice meeting you though!” I say with a little wave as I turn to go over to Alex.
After borrowing some shoes from Milana and learning a bit of basketball from her, she headed to her dorm to change out of her sweaty clothes. She was supposed to go hiking with the other campers. She got ready and met everyone at the beginning of the hiking trails.
She started walking and was surprising not that tired. She had a very weak stamina and would to get tired very easily. She wanted to talk to someone but was waiting for someone else to approach her.
I saw a very pretty girl walking nearby and walked up to her nervously. “Hi…? I saw you walking alone and figured I’d introduce myself. I’m Jane…Cross.” I said, practically spitting my last name. @elixr - Colette
A girl with dark black hair and cool grey eyes walked towards Colette. “Bonsoir, Jane.” she said, without realising that she spoke French. She facepalmed and introduced herself, “I meant good evening. I’m Colette.” she smiled at her and walked with her.
I flinched when she asked why, relaxing when she changed the subject. “I’m not entirely sure what my heritage is…probably some Irish due to my skin.” I shrugged. @elixr - Colette
“Nice, I had a friend of mine who was Irish. It was probably in high school.” she said. Colette saw her flinch at her question. She placed a hand on her hand and gave her a reassuring squeeze.
“Whatever it is, it’ll all be fine one day,” she continued walking.
“It will only be ok once I get out of that god forsaken place.” I laughed bitterly when I said god forsaken. “You’d think God should love everyone…” @elixr Colette
“We’ll get along. I’m a atheist in a family of Christians. Yeah, my parents don’t think that. Of we’ll. They’re s*it anyway.” @elixr - Colette
Pity she’s straight. RIP
