Ohh yeah. The higher notes are pretty hard to play, I struggled with those at first.

I borrowed a flute at first and then thought it was really nasty that even when it was cleaned I shared spit with other people, so I just bought my own :joy:

Exactly this!

I read sheet music. If Iā€™m playing a piece I prefer to have the musical notes on the staff.

I can read sheet music, but it takes me some time and I often get parts of it wrong :joy:

I can. Iā€™ve been playing the clarinet for 3 years. Yet still suck because I donā€™t practice.

Everyoneā€™s a gangsta till the time signatureā€™s fraction gets smaller than your will to breathe.

I like the sound of the clarinet :notes:

I played the recorder for one year and the flute for two (but that was 7 years ago because :joy: Soooā€¦ I can read it but I suck at counting. I know how long the notes should be technically but I donā€™t know how long they should be)

When I tell you I was HEARTBROKEN when I walked into band class and they said a recorder doesnā€™t count as an instrument. Blasphemy, I say. :sob:

My first choice was actually flute, but I got so lightheaded within the first day that I switched to Clarinet. Now that Iā€™m in band my favorite tone is definitely a tie between saxophones and oboes, but I honestly donā€™t have nearly enough talent to pull of the oboe lol.

In case you ever get back into it šŸ‘€

This is just the basics, but for counting, you donā€™t really need to count for anything besides rests. (Ex: 3 whole rests, you would count 1,2,3,4 then 2,2,3,4, then 3,2,3,4 to keep track.) Other than that just remembering how many beats are in each note will be so in your head that counting is unnecessary or comes as second nature.

For telling how long notes should be, tapping the foot to keep tempo is key. The time signature will let you know how many beats are within a measure/can be in a measure. The tempo marking will just say how fast that which is written will be played.

HAHAHA :joy: (I donā€™t like the sound of the soprano recorder but itā€™s still an instrument!!!)

Ohhh :eyes: I havenā€™t thought about that.

Oh niceee. Oboes seems annoying with the mouth piece thingy.

The thing is that I canā€™t tap the rhythm and play at the same time :joy:

I canā€™t read sheet music. It would be neat to know how to, but I donā€™t really have a reason to read sheet music anyway.
