For real.
I guess I feel the same way about him… I used to hate him, but now I don’t? He’s honestly cool, aside from the raging misogyny and grouchiness. The Jojo I actually like the least is Giorno though…

I’d be interested to hear why you don’t like Giorno. I’ve never really made a personal tier list for the main characters, but I don’t think I could choose who would be the best. My current fixation is Gappy, but that’s just because of the hype from reading Jojolion. They all have cool aspects.
I honestly find him VERY bland, from a writer’s perspective. There’s nothing too interesting to his character. All the other Jojos stand out somehow, Jonathan as the badass but sweet, persistent gentleman, Joseph as the troublesome (but well-meaning and kindhearted) trickster, Jotaro as the stone cold but secretly loving man, Josuke being flamboyant (he is not straight that boy is FRUITY like Ryan from High School Musical) and passionate about his pompadour, Jolyne being smart-mouthed and crafty (as well as a former prisoner), Johnny basically being a gay cowboy (the cripple jokes are not funny, they’re stupid and ableist) with a big booty, and Gappy being an amnesiac tryna discover who he is. All the Jojos got character development as well, excluding him. Especially Jonathan, so many people say he’s bland when he’s not lmao. He had one of the best arcs in the series, it was awesome for a 1987 manga!
What I wanted for Giorno (and I hope Araki does this possibly in part 9) was for him to possibly be evil or at least morally grey. And what most fans draw from Giorno is the comparison to Jesus and him being Dio’s (kinda) son, as well as GER. The Jobros were far more interesting than him, I audibly yawned watching his fight scenes EXCEPT for the 1-minute muda beatdown with the Joker doctor dude (I forgot his name, he’s a vile person anyway so I don’t care) because that reminded of Star Platinum whooping Steely Dan’s a-s which I genuinely enjoyed. Even the muda beatdown is overhyped to me. Besides, it looks better in the manga anyway!
That’s totally fair. I liked Giorno because out of all the Jojo’s, he was probably the only realistically ace one, but what had me hyped the most was instead the father-child relationship between Trish and Diavolo.
People sleep on Jonathan; he’s always Best Boy™. Joseph and Jolyne rock those crop tops. Josuke, more like Josgay because part four was very fruity indeed. Johnny was confusion personified and Gyro was the gay awakening. Gappy treated Yasuho so well, quality health relationship energy.
So I’m also excited to see what happens in part nine with all the unresolved plot points. However, if you want morally grey, Jotaro, Johnny, and Gappy were murdering people left and right. I might do an official kill count one day to see which Jojo has the highest, but even I was surprised by how many people the new universe protagonists were willing to just get rid of. I get that a ton of people had to die for the protagonists to move forwards though.
They do call it ‘seven-page-muda’ for the manga page count after all. I just miss that wacky one scene where Kira is trying to calculate the distance to Josuke using triganometry or something.
Sadly, the overhaul of aggressive stand punching kinda ends with part six because Johnny doesn’t really have a stand (and even the one he uses says something different) and all the stands in part eight are so obscure with their timing and use that it’s probably better to kill people with fruits.
Fun stuff
Oh, yes, the headcanons with Giorno are AMAZING but his character in the source material though? Not that impressive. And I love Trish, she deserves more appreciation!
They be sleeping on my man Jonathan, I don’t like that. I remember someone saying Joseph dressed like a chaotic lesbian and I can’t get it out of my head lmao. Jolyne is amazing and one of my favorite Jojos. Josuke is also my favorite Jojo, a gay icon! As for Johnny thee Stallion I liked him too. Gappy and Yasuho are adorable!
Jotaro never murdered people as far as I read/watched, just beat them up, Johnny kills when he needs to for his boyfriend Gyro, and the Gappy part is true from what I know. But damn… Araki went crazy with the kills
I did not see that yet lmao
NOOOOO NO MORE STAND BARRAGES??? But tbh the stands got so confusing by part 6 and even more confusing by 8
Awww Doppio
There is a chance that the anime for Stardust Crusaders allowed those beaten enemies to not die because I remember a lot of confirmed deaths in the manga. That actually would make sense since Johnny and Gappy are also the most brutal Jojos, so who knows. Those deaths might be ‘corrected’ when adapted as well.
Also, I didn’t like the green and black hair scheme. Black and white looked much better in the anime, but Kira does return with green hair as a ghost, so I can kinda see why the colours were chosen the way they were.
I think I can explain how most of the stands work? Probably not in the way of knowing what to do if I had that stand, but more so that I can figure out why the power caused what they did. Yeah, it gets confusing fast. I think my favourite ‘why is this a thing’ moment was when meeting this one guy with the ability to transform something from his right hand to his left, then vice versa.
The drawing actually looks really off now that I look at it, but I also did doddle it while very sleep deprived because that’s what you do when sleeping doesn’t work ~ Hair highlights are on point though
It was fun trying to explain to friends that the guy with long hair was the father of the girl, even though they both look female and the same age. That’s just the ‘bizarre’ in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures though.
Interesting. I honestly think half the enemies died… especially Steely Dan. Enya did die. J. Geil too, Hol Horse is around (still), that one monkey ship user, the baby stand, and the Oingo Boingo brothers are possibly alive? Johnny and Gappy were just menaces (especially Johnny)
Who knew Kira was a mathematician?
No one did. It looks awful.
Oooookayyyyy. Yeah that sounds trippy. Very… trippy. Araki might’ve taken psychedelics. We’ll never know.
I think the drawing looks awesome to me! Maybe because I’m not an artist (I used to do art though) but it looks great for someone sleep-deprived.
Jojo is even more confusing out of context than it already is in context.
Oooh Tooru and Kars
What’s in his eye!?
Can he see?
He successfully defeated the main antagonist that way, so I would assume so
I also have this sketch. Not usually the sort for this kind of body horror, though it’s somewhat milder and Josuke is a fun character
Running joke with my friends if Gappy had swimwear like Yasuho
And have this kinda unrefined sketch because I was listening to Replay by Lady Gaga. Death loop jofoes stick together.
I’m on a new universe binge
Diavolo and Valentine… interesting
They’re built different
