The ice remembers every fall, every victory, and every skater who thought they were ready. Talent gets you on the ice, pressure decides who stays there.

Welcome to Crestview Ice Academy, an elite ice skating team where talent it currency and pressure is the price of admission. Everyone here is chasing the same dream, even though only a few will stand at the top of the podium. Some skaters were born in the rink, molded by early mornings and ever growing expectations. Others clawed their way in, hungry enough to risk everything just to be seen. Different backgrounds, same ice, and nowhere to hide when things start to crack.
Life here exists in two world: on and off the ice. On the ice it is all about early mornings at the rink, aching muscles, mental exhaustion, rivalries or respect, and hopefully that moment of absolute perfection under competition lights. Off the ice, thereās tension, mental breakdowns, alliances, but also found family, and the type of drama that comes with being surrounded by the same people over and over again. Those people who truly understand everything youāre sacrificing.
Romance might happen, slowly, recklessly, sometimes at the worst possible time. Teammates, rivals, complex dynamics that may threaten your focus. But this is far from a love story. The skating matters. The pressure from coaches and staff matters. The sponsors matter. The stakes are real, and every relationship is shaped by them
Setting & Context
This RP takes place in the Midwestern American town of Crestview. It is focused on the competitive figure skating team at Crestview Ice Academy. While housing is available through the academy, it is not obligatory as long as characters can commute within 30 minutes. This creates different lifestyles within the team: some skaters are fully immersed in academy life, while others try to balance training with family expectations, school, jobs, or a version of normal life outside the rink.
Crestview itself is not a glamorous city, but skating has put it on the map. The town quietly revolves around the academy, local businesses sponsor skaters, competition banners hang in shop windows, and everyone seems to know whoās winning and whoās slipping behind. Success brings attention, support, and opportunity; failure brings rumors, judgment, and the constant feeling of being replaced by the next promising talent.
The rink is both a second home and a pressure chamber. Early mornings, late nights, shared locker rooms, overheard arguments, whispered coach feedback, and the constant presence of rivals mean privacy is rare. Skaters are always being watched, by coaches, by staff, by sponsors, by each other. Even small mistakes feel public. Progress is visible. So is decline.
Junior division skaters do not receive a salary outside of prize money, though all training, equipment, travel, and competition expenses are covered. Adult skaters receive a decent living wage on top of that, tying their financial stability directly to their performance, ranking, and continued value to the academy. For many characters, skating isnāt just a passion, itās their main source of income, their future plan, and their leverage in relationships with coaches, sponsors, and even family.
Outside the rink, skaters are still tied to the academy through sponsorship obligations, media appearances, local events, school or college commitments, and public expectations to be ārole models.ā Mistakes off the ice can have consequences on the ice. Rumors spread fast in a small town. Privacy is a luxury few can afford.
Rules
Rules
Max 3 skaters + 1 staff member per person for now. I might expand this at a later time but I want to make sure the characters all get the effort they deserve
Please plot with others, itās very character driven and connections are essential
No godmoding (unless agreed by the other party) or pre-deciding competition outcomes.
Be respectful OOC. I have the right to decide someone is no longer welcome if you arenāt respectful to others.
I understand that life might happen and make it so you can be less active. Try to inform others beforehand and if needed allow a (temporary) adoption of your character.

Storygame mechanisms
SG mechanisms
This RP will contain some SG elements. They will mainly be used to allow for a fair judgement on the competions. Further details will follow, but it combines polls I will share every now and then, as well as judgement in points based on your posts. Things that impact is how many risks do you take, your qualities (you start all with max 15, but they can increase or decrease) how good are your connections (especially in pairs), how well and often did you train, any injuries, and a randomness score on top.
