Discussion: Archaeology

Archaeology covers many points from discovering old civilizations to much more. Some of the biggest discoveries have been all over the world. I think my favorite discovery is when they found the recent underwater city that was a massive trade port Thonis-Heracleion. The link to that discovery is below! The second link is about other recent discoveries found this year.

What is your favorite archaeological discovery?

Woah, that’s a question I don’t think I could ever find a way to answer. I love, love, looooooove archeology. I’ve grown up watching stuff on a lot of archeological searches and ancient history, especially on ancient Egypt.

Well, not long ago they found a ship wreck with pieces of a metal on board that seemed to be the special copper mix called oreichalcos. They did not discover it before and thought it was a myth. Platon wrote about it being used a lot in Atlantis, to make buildings shine and also as currency.

And did you hear about the ruins of Göbekli Tepe in Turkey? It’s like an even older version of Stonehenge.

Yepp, still interesting things to be discovered out there. :star_struck:
