I’ve made this thread on the Episode forums months ago, and unfortunately, it got closed down. But, anyways… I think everybody can agree to the fact that the world we live in today isn’t the same as it was 100 years ago, or even 2,000 years ago (if you know what I mean). Times have changed, and so did the human race through many generations. Let’s be honest here, their wasn’t a lot of crap and controversial issues going on back then. There were some very bad and dangerous things going on, but it wasn’t as bad it is today.
So, how you would you define the world today?

The world today is burning, both metaphorically and physically in some places.

I’m not too sure…
Nowadays, we have social media obsessions, jobs disappearing, prices for everything going up and worsening climate change. But the past had normalised and severe sexism, racism and homophobia, deaths from now preventable diseases, a huge lack of scientific knowledge and limited technology compared to today.
The world today is nowhere near perfect, but I’d prefer to be here than 200 years ago.

Dying. The world is like dying. Some places are thriving, other places are dying.
Yeah… No-one living today would survive in the world even fifty years ago, nevermind a hundred. The kind of conveniences we have today are very, very new. The issues that came along with it are also quite dramatic. Funny enough though, those were caused by the people who lived fifty years ago! Not us! And it should be their responsibility to sort it out, not ours. But hey! What do I know!

Physically the world might be ending sooner than we thought due to earth burning and dying every minute.
Nowadays the world is just bad and toxic… and worse… Technology is taking over.
I would have liked to have been alive 2,000 years ago
Thing is, whenever I say my typical “the world is burning” I get people saying the whole “it was worst in the past so stop complaining”
Okay I get that but I live in the present not the past, yeah it’s easy to read about how things were and gain knowledge but I haven’t lived it. I can’t relate to it. Which sounds dumb but just because the world has been terrible in terms of society in the past, the world today still needs to make alot of improvements. So I really don’t need the whole “be thankful you are alive in this world” because I am thankful that I live in a more accepting society but that doesn’t change the fact the planet is literally dying. I do my bit to help prevent it but still I see no changes, the world is burning.
