Discussion: Mochi and Mochi Ice Cream

Mochi is Japanese rice cake consisting of mochigome, a short-grain japonica glutinous rice, and sometimes water, sugar, and cornstarch. The rice is pounded into paste and molded into the desired shape and filled sometimes with bean paste.

Mochi ice cream is a made from Japanese mochi with an ice cream filling replacing the paste.

yesss i’ve had both normal mochi and mochi ice cream

actual mochi is filled with a bean paste which i don’t particularly like but mango and strawberry ice cream mochi are delicioussss

It’s delicious!
I love mochi. They sell it at the Japanese store in my town, and I buy it often.
They also sell mochi ice cream. I tried it once, and it’s good. I think the flavor I bought was strawberry.
