Aye, it’s just as the title says! Overwatch’s 31st hero is coming soon!
We got a new tank, and he’s another mad scientist! Not mad like Moira, though… Like, legitimately crazy- He feels like Tracer gone wrong. He puts Junkrat to shame, that’s for sure.
Anyone else here a fan of Overwatch? How do you feel about the new hero? I, for one, can’t wait!

I’m a fan of Overwatch! or… I was. Back in 2017
I remember everyone going nuts over Doomfist and I just haven’t played it since

It’s been kinda eh for a while, but, there’s some good stuff coming. One of which is this new hero! His abilities are wack, too, and he’s a shield tank.

tbh I moved over to For Honour and just never looked back. It’s the better game in every regard
Oh, I see.
… I play the same like, five games, so. Also I have a smooth brain so I play mostly cartoony games like Overwatch and Fortnite, feels easier on the eyes. I also find it hard to get into other games when I’m hyperfixated on something else.
Noah fence to For Honour, but. I’d probably still prefer Overwatch… Or Fortnite.

I mean they’re very different so that’s fair enough. One thing I can definitely say about Overwatch is it’s damn pretty. And I still watch streams of overwatch here and there, so I’m not cut off entirely.
For Honor is close-combat though, which is way more up my alley personally. I’m not a big gun person, lol. I get the more stylised cartoony preference though! Kingdom Hearts and Persona are some of my favourite game franchises ever, and a lot of that is down to the simpler stylised art styles and character designs :3

It really is- When it comes down to the game’s criticisms, it’s usually about gameplay and balance… Because the map designs, character models, etc. are just so nice. Nobody I’ve played with likes the Paris map, but, they will admit it’s pretty.
I understand that! I used to be a huge fan of Skyrim, and I still love it, even if I don’t play it as much. But… I guess if I keep reverting back to playing a stealth archer it can’t really be counted as close-combat, lol.

Yeah we’re all wired differently in that regard. I can’t get into Skyrim or Elder Scrolls in general personally because I personally need my combat to be meaty. Weighty, punchy and intense. You know, punishingly difficult because I hate myself :'3
I love Overwatch character designs. It was released just as I was studying character design myself for my story and it was such a goldmine of inspiration I swear

My brother plays this. I have to say, I love the designs on the characters.

Overwatch has one of the most diverse casts I’ve ever seen in a video game. It puts those Episode stories with a single black character as the best friend to shame.

Right? And it doesn’t feel weird or anything because it all feels so natural. I love everything about the cast and characters

I just don’t like online shooters. I’d probably actually play it if there was a solo campaign tbh

Exactly! This game has made me so much more fascinated with other cultures as well… Moira especially, I’ve never seen a character speak Gaelic before!
It’s also pretty cool seeing other’s reactions to it… I saw a post on Reddit from someone excited that Sigma was Dutch, and that he spoke Dutch. It kinda makes you realize that- Diversity is important, no matter where in the world they’re from. It’s important to see yourself represented in popular media! (Maybe that’s why so many of my OCs are trans… Oops?)

The fact a video game can put in good diversity so easily puts other companies and games to shame.

It’s funny how I am drawn to games with good diversity. The two online games I play besides overwatch back in the day are Final Fantasy 14 and For Honor, which if you look up the character designs and the processes behind making them…
It’s almost like gaming is opening up to the wide world and becoming better for it or something
