Discussion: what comes to mind when you hear the word magic?

The definition of magic can be different for every person, whether you think it’s real or not. Some think of it as card tricks and pulling rabbits out of hats. Others believe it to be something that surrounds us and can be harnessed. So, what comes to mind when you hear the word magic?

Magic tricks and the film ‘Now you see me’

The first thing that comes to mind for me when I hear “magic” would probably be something along the lines of telekinesis, potentially with some bonus special effects. I also tend to think of spells and things strongly associated with actual witchcraft. I never really associate the word “magic” with a magic show or a magic trick unless it’s actually followed by one of those words to help clarify the meaning of it…

Do you believe in magic, in a young girl’s heart, how the music can free her whenever it starts! And it’s magic if it makes you feel groovy, it makes you feel happy like an old time movie!

Oh oh oh it’s magic
Wizards of Waverly place for some reason
