Diverticulitis is caused by inflammation in a pouch in the intestine. The symptoms are constipation, fever, diarrhea, abdominal pain and melena, which is black poop. Luckily, this can be resolved in a couple days with medication.

My grandma was suffering from this, and she was in the hospital. I think she’s ok now.
Update: She had heart surgery, but is doing fine.
