Do you believe in Myths and Fantasy?

First off, Hi! I am Saasha! So I had this conversation with a friend a few days ago and wanted to ask everyone, Do anyone of you believe in any fantasy myths or creatures?

Here are a few questions for y’all:

What creature do you believe in?
What led you to this conclusion?
If it were up to you, which creatures would you want to exist, and which you won’t? Why?
If there was a myth you’d want to be true, what would it be? Why?

My answers:

What creatures/myths do you believe in? I believe in Vampires, Witches, Werewolves, Dark Magic, Spirit magic, ghosts and afterlife.

What led you to this conclusion? Well, they say you can’t believe in things because you haven’t actually experienced them. But I haven’t seen the Eiffel Tower in my whole life. Does that mean that it doesn’t exist?

Maybe they won’t be as we imagine them and they would be different, but if we still talk about all these things, surely there has to be some truth in them, right?

If it were up to you, which creatures would you want to exist, and which you won’t? Why? There is absolutely no creature I won’t want on earth. Dragons and vampires and ogres and Sphinx and wizards and witches, that’s what my dream world would look like.

If there was a myth you’d want to be true, what would it be? Why? I’d like to believe that there is life after death because I don’t want to see death as an end to our story, but rather the next book for the same series. I don’t know how that would work - if there would be souls or heaven and hell kinda thing, but I just want there to be something.

I love the idea of fairies, mermaids, unicorns all that kinda stuff. Not alot of people know about my obsession with fairies but I love them.

I like to believe that there is more to this world than meets the eye.

Fairies for sure but I bet they do exist anyway. As for a creature I hope doesn’t exist, I’d have to go for Slenderman :joy:.

I like the idea of a guardian angel type thing

My kinda gal!

What’s a Slenderman? :joy:

Yeah. Fairies. sighs Wish they did exist and we could see them. Especially tooth fairy.

Slenderman is a creepypasta, people photoshop him in the background of old pictures. He’s also in alot of games :joy:.

Splendor man isn’t as scary as slenderman. Unless he goes into angry mode :joy:. But in general in terms of mythical creatures there are alot of things on creepypasta I don’t want to be real.

I haven’t really let my thoughts on which mythical creatures and urban legends are real really, like. Crystallise.

So I think I’m going to stalk this thread, because it’s so cool!

My oldest brother really likes the idea of a cracken :joy: just thought I’d slip that in

None.

I feel like those things doesn’t base on facts? They are just legends and myths the people in the olden days believe in.

None. I’m happy this way. If they really exist, it would be terrifying.

None.

Honestly none but sometimes I like to pretend I believe in fantastical beasts and dress up as a vampire hunter and go outside and fight the air

Lol! That sounds a lot like me. When I first learned what vampires are, I decided to be a vampire hunter and no matter what anyone said, I refused to believe they don’t exist.

What’s a cracken now? :joy:

I 100% believe in ghosts and life after death. I believe in demons and fairies. I believe in all these creatures but I believe they exist in different dimensions, like, I believe there is a special fairy dimension and I believe that the dimension that ghosts are in is really close to ours which is why they are able to interact.

none rip.

I only believe in things i see myself and i like to have facts and everything lmao.

i’d like to see a mermaid, i wouldn’t want dragons cuz i’d die.

Afterlife cuz i honestly want to believe that when we die we get chance to be born again.
cuz i thought about it a lot and imagine just dying and that’s it, i mean ofc hell and heaven but it would be boring lmao.

I don’t consider life after death to be a creature, but I do believe in it! And I don’t see why it necessarily has to be either a myth or a fantasy. We have no way of knowing what happens after death and anyone who thinks they have all of the answers is naive.

Apart from that, I also have no reason to believe in vampires and witches and stuff. While no one has been dead for a substantial amount of time and come back to tell us the tales, we have quite a good grasp on our reality. I simply don’t see any proof of witches or anything laying about. Unless they live in the sea. That’s almost completely undiscovered. Like, if there were werewolves running around in the true sense of the word, wouldn’t we see a huge spike in animal attacks during the full moon? There’s only so much a government (or the leaders of the whole world) can cover up.

I don’t think talking about things necessarily has to mean they exist. Humans have very vivid imaginations and we use stories to make sense of our world. These stories are passed down through generations and shared with one another. The reason, in my opinion, that magic and all that jazz is still spoken about is that it’s interesting. It’s fun and mystical and we all love a little bit of magic in our lives. Witches and Vampires and Werewolves are a lot more interesting than the mundanity of our day-to-day lives!

I would want elves to exist. Like honest to God Tolkien elves. With the singing and the shining and the having come back from the dead so being able to tell us once and for all if there’s an afterlife. That, and I really wouldn’t mind if I could be a Harry Potter witch. Preferably one with a magical owl (the ones that are intelligent and don’t poop everywhere and can deliver your mail and live in small cages without that being animal cruelty. Despite their reputation, owls are relatively unintelligent when you compare them to other birds) and a phoenix.

Harry Potter. Straight up. Forget myths. I want to make all of the magic systems and creatures from my favourite books come true and I want to be magical!

Do anyone of you believe in any fantasy myths or creatures

Yes, I do believe there is some kind of truth to those myths and creatures.

What creature do you believe in?
I believe in the Loch Ness monster but only because I do believe it’s some big fish that they have yet to come across. If it’s a dinosaur that is suppose to be extinct then that would be interesting but highly doubtful since the water temperature has drastically changed since that era in time. It was a whole lot hotter than nowadays. I believe in a bunch of other creatures like the Banshee, witches, and so on.

What led you to this conclusion?
Well we really don’t know much about our ocean. We have yet to build a submersiveable boat to go all the way down in the Challengers Deep at the very tip of the Marianas Trench. It’s suppose to be the deepest part of the ocean. Yet we are more focused on space. Just confuses me. It would make life more interesting if all of that were real. I would be estactic if any of that was real. I mean they just found out that an extinct fish actually is alive. They found 3 different species of it and it’ s considered a living fossil now.

If it were up to you, which creatures would you want to exist, and which you won’t? Why?
Megalodon hands down. I don’t want a big shark roaming the waters at all. I’m highly scared of deep water as it is. It would scare me if that damn shark manage to survive this long.

If there was a myth you’d want to be true, what would it be? Why? Dragons and the Greek Gods. I love their history sp much! I like reading about the polyreligions. They are so cool! I’m not very religious but I do believe there is something out there that influenced the civilazations of the past. Even now that influence is still going on with the different religions of today. Dragons are amazing. I have been obessed with them since I was a child. I would be happy with them around.

Aliens? Is that considered a creature? Idk.

Space is huge. There’s no way we’re the only life in the entirety of it.

What’s kind of weird is that there’s probably “ aliens “ out there who have cool powers and have already explored space, and they’re probably just looking down at us like “ those aliens are idiots “ and just agreeing with each other.
