I don’t really like books that are based on real events unless they are really just based on those events but then tell a different story around that. That’s because I read because I want to escape reality, not get more of it than I already have
Not really, they’re pretty boring. I prefer to read fantasy books with a fictional world, since it’s way more fun to read and learn about it. The only times I’ve liked books based on real events, were if they were stories about a famous scientist or explorer.
No… non-fictions are not my kind of books. And I hope I don’t offend anyone with this, but they’re really boring and sad. I would prefer fantasy with drama in it to keep me interested.
I’ve read one. It was really good. Educated by Tara Westover.
I think I would like to read more of that kind of stuff but I don’t really know because I’ve only read some books of it. I usually tend to go for a book that is a mix between fantasy and sci-fi and only has a bit of it in it. I don’t really tend to go for stories with a huge fantasy world or a huge sci-fi world (although I have read those in the past). I’ve also read a lot of books that were fiction but could have been a real event, like, they were realistic. So yeah, I could totally find myself enjoying a biography or something else.
For me, I think it depends on the author’s writing style and like the way they write. Also having a dramatic story helps too.
I’ve also read fiction books that were complete trash and really terribly boring in comparison to a non-fiction book. cough cough THE PEARL BY JOHN STEINBECK cough
