Like the title says, do you prefer listening to songs that you can relate to or ones that are just fun to listen to?
I like a bit of both, but I tend to listen to songs I can relate to more often.

I like to listen to songs I relate to aswell as songs I don’t relate to, there are alot of songs I love that are about situations I haven’t been in but if I feel a connection towards the person singing it then it’s like a friend telling you about stuff which is rad then if the situation does occur I’ll be like “oh yeah this stuff happens”.
I once saw a critic say a song I like wasn’t relatable and I was like it was relatable you just probably don’t relate to it.
Both. I do like songs I can relate to.
More fun to listen to but both!
Both. Songs I can relate to make me shiver for some reason, while those that are fun to listen make me crazy, dance and sing! So I can’t really choose!
Both. I just love music
Both! There are some songs I don’t really relate to but I like they way they sound.
Songs I could relate to, definitely!
I think I generally prefer songs that I like hearing, although something that I can relate to is always nice

I listen to songs for fun mainly… I don’t relate to any of them.
Stuff that’s fun to listen to. For me it doesn’t really matter if I relate to it or not.
Though, I do tend to be interested in how a song relates to characters, even if it just relates in a way as simple as a single lyric.
Anybody else also prefer to listen to songs for their relation to a character over relating to yourself?
I mainly listen to songs because I like the way they sound. It’s nice when they relate to my situation, but it’s not usually what makes me listen to a song.
