Do you prefer thick or thin outlines?

I’m still undecided about the direction I want my art to go into, so I decided to ask y’all what you prefer :eyes::eyes::green_heart:

  • Thick outlines
  • Thin outlines
  • No outlines :grinning:

And why? :eyes::sparkles:

Thick. It’s easier to color and just look better

Depends on the art style, really. I’d say if you’re going for a more detailed look, thin outlines look better. But if you’re going for a more simple style, thick outlines look better

Yeha like if you’re doing something cartoony than in my opinion thick outlines will look betterr

I absolutely have to have thin outlines with my style- the biggest point I’ll ever use is 3 and even then depending on the brush it’s just too big. I think it’s just because of the way my style looks :sweat_smile: definitely looks better with thin light outlines

It depends. I’m not a artiste butttttt people do be drawing better regardless of the outline thickness.

it depends on the style I’m going for! if I’m doing a more detailed drawing, thin outlines are better, but if I’m being more abstract, then I like thick outlines :blush:

You want to use thin lineart for anything realistically cartoonish or for a basic mock-up/sketch. Thick lineart is more for heavy cartoon figures and outlining aesthetic figures. They both look good in their own way, so it just depends on the category of art

The duck images you draw look neat with thick lines because it’s a simple, cute drawing if that’s the concern

It depends. Personally, I prefer thin outlines. To me, they look neat and you’ll have more space to colour in, shade, etc.

@Artists Thick or thin outlines?

To fit my art style, I use reasonably thin lines :star_struck:
