Do you think fandom shipping goes too far sometimes?

In all honesty I’m not keen on shipping real life people because of the way people take it seriously and actually harass the people they ship about it. This happens alot with the musicians I’m a fan of and their general consensus is that as long as you don’t let your “ship” affect their actual life, they don’t really care.

But some people who ship don’t like it when the people they are shipping don’t actually end up together, and will even go as far as to send hate to the people they actually do end up with which is just toxic and dumb.

However, shipping people in the fictional sense is something I don’t have a problem with as long as it isn’t incest or someone underage is involved.

Also if you ship a real life person with someone and they say they aren’t comfortable with it you should listen to them.
