Do you spell it as “donut” or “doughnut”?
In German it’s Donut, so I also write donut in English, I never even knew there’s the possiblity to spell it doughnut

It’s called “munk” in Swedish which means “monk” because of their hairstyle But nowadays people say/write “donut” too.

In Spanish, it’s called “dona”.
Although “doughnut” is probably the correct spelling because it’s a compound word (dough + nut), I’m just more comfortable writing it as “donut”.

It really just depends on you you talk to. I use Donut, but Doughnut is probably more professional seeming.

Donut. One time my sister and I were watching a movie with subtitles and the word came up as doughnut. She started freaking out thinking she’s been misspelling it for 10 years! “OMG! I’ve been spelling it do nut?!”
