In German it’s Donut, so I also write donut in English, I never even knew there’s the possiblity to spell it doughnut

Donut, for the same reason, that’s how we call here in the Netherlands, even though they aren’t a that big thing here
Doughnut.
It’s called “munk” in Swedish which means “monk” because of their hairstyle But nowadays people say/write “donut” too.
In Spanish, it’s called “dona”.
Although “doughnut” is probably the correct spelling because it’s a compound word (dough + nut), I’m just more comfortable writing it as “donut”.
Doughnut, that’s what I was taught!
Doughnut. That’s literally what it is
I spell it as both, we call it “donut” here but “doughnut” looks cooler!
It really just depends on you you talk to. I use Donut, but Doughnut is probably more professional seeming.
I was taught Doughnut and my mum makes sure we write/say it as Doughnut.
like wtf is a “do nut”. It’s dough-nut, made of dough, bro.
Something NSFW

Donut. One time my sister and I were watching a movie with subtitles and the word came up as doughnut. She started freaking out thinking she’s been misspelling it for 10 years! “OMG! I’ve been spelling it do nut?!”
Had to explain that there’s 2 different spellings
I spell it as donut!
