Duolingo added a Gaelic course recently (that’s Scottish if you didn’t know) and I heard about it yesterday on the radio. They said something about there being more people already learning Gaelic on Duolingo than there are native speakers!
Or maybe more than there are people in Scotland
Either way that’s pretty impressive!

Just to clarify: they already had a Gaelic course, but it was Irish Gaelic! They just released the Scottish Gaelic course and @ChaoticDeluge is very excited

Yeah the language is different though. Gaelic -Scottish
Gaelige - Irish
I’m not sure if it’s just the names that are different though

It’s easy for me to understand without all the complications of feminine and masculine and the bazillion different versions of 1 word… bliss

Anyone still doing the course? I am.
Not very good at it tbh. I’m semi fluent already but I don’t ever have to write in Gaelic so my grammar is terrible
I might actually do it, but I’m already doing Spanish, Korean and French
