Update!

It seems that Episode decided to give the community more time to save their threads and transfer them to the discord server. The deadline was extended to August 28.

Episode Forums has finally shut down this past Friday. I’ll be active on our forums now as well. I made a art shop on the episode discord. This is the link for it. I’m going to start drawing and writing again as well.

Am I the only one who thinks the staff at Episode got what they deserved

What do you mean?

I mean I’ve had a feeling for the longest time that they weren’t doing a good job managing the forums, the flagging system was constantly abused and nobody did anything about it and the staff seemed to never listen to anything the people wanted or complained about … I felt like their quality also dropped but they acted as if it didn’t

Oh sorry! I got really busy at work. I completely forgot to respond. I agree with you about them lacking when it comes to dealing with the users on the forums. They would either do nothing about a situation or they would give a harsh hand on the situations without explaining their reasons. They should have cracked down on the flagging system. I think the biggest issue was that they couldn’t focus on multiple issues that were constantly happening. Too much was going on for them to actually do their job. I remember getting flagged a few times for minor replies. They wanted me to change what I said but I refused to do so since others were saying much worse in the same thread as me.

Sadly, I’m pretty sure that the staff there wouldn’t have been made redundant. I’m pretty they would still be working for/with Episode in some kind of capacity.

Yeah, I think so as well. I’m not sure if the discord mods are the same mods from the forums or just new mods at this point. I did wonder what they did with the mods that left the forums. They were probably switch to a different department or something like that.

Not entirely thrilled about it but if there is a discord for it, I would like to join. It’s fun being able to chat and RP with others and I really do not want to lose what I just barely found after what felt like years of looking.

My guess is that being a mod was not their only job title. They probably had/have other responsibilities too, as that’s more efficient for a big company.

Yeah, that is very true!

Do you mean for Episode?

Oh is it not for this web? Did I totally just misunderstood this post?

You’re good! We do have a discord for Dripping Quills as well! This was mainly about the Episode Forums closure on August 30th. There is a Discord for the Episode since it has fully migrated there. The forums aren’t closing, but this is the link if you want to join the Discord server!
