Episode Oldies Discussion: 30 Days to Find Love

30 Days to Find Love

Description: You’ve got just 30 days to find love, or your soul with be lost forever! Can you defeat the devil in time?

I actually remember reading this one and remember the story more than the others! I remember liking the MC and being obsessed with it lol. I swear, Episode featured stories while still not super great was much better then! It had a lot of reasonable conflict that made you want to press to the next Episode as well as the unique storyline. I’m sad that these authors listed for some of these stories seem to not be authors for Episode anymore, but it seems they may have moved onto better things lol.

Anyway, have you guys read the story?

Oh. My. God

This one! If I remember rightly it was how I learned a Barista isn’t a judge in court it’s somebody who makes coffee (the MC is one if I remember rightly)

@ChaoticDeluge

So the story’s premise was interesting, although I think it could definitely have been executed in a more interesting way.

Like 50 million screenshots and commentary

The first few lines of the introduction were just bland, although I was surprised that the main character didn’t have a super pale skintone and use one of the generic long hairs for the classic characters…

The main character works as a barista, so she gets hit on by this creepy rich dude.

Snarky comeback™, which I prefer to spineless but isn’t a major part of her characterization (from what I can tell)

Of course you get the choice, but is there ever any reason to select “he’s so cute”? No

Super suspicious dude walks in, obviously planning something, asks about money being stored and who’s closing… then proceeds to ask for vodkas at a coffee shop

Your boss is also one of your romantic interests! :face_vomiting:

Suspicious guy is back, this time with a gun and more threatening

These two appear (an angel and a demon) to escort the MC to her death, however, the angel is overeager, shows himself too early, and scares off the robber.

She’s fated to die, so they’re planning on taking her to the grave anyways, however there’s a test she can do (which no one else has ever done successfully) to find true love within 30 days and then she’ll be allowed to live.

Bad ex-boyfriend she keeps talking to for some reason

She then goes to work and gets sent home for the day because she’s acting like nothing matters anymore, gets told by the demon and angel people can’t suspect she’s gonna die soon (even though they’d think of different causes like suicidal or cancer or something).

I mean I guess it’s less creepy, but still… ew

I’m guessing none of these dates are going to work out well, but I still would’ve appreciated a “none of the above” option because they’re all terrible.

Her sister’s having some drama in her marriage, but the story doesn’t really give us a lot of information about that.

Also the two of them have to follow her around and apparently judge her taste in movies. Rude.

I think that the story does have some promise, although the directing (it’s super old can’t really fault it there) and the pacing (it cuts off episode 2 in the middle of a scene) could be a bit better. I haven’t really read enough of it to make a concrete judgement about the narrative, but I’m guessing there’ll be a meeting Mr. Right™ moment later in the story. I read through the first 4 chapters and I might read more, although it seems like there are better stories with a similar concept
