I am aware that villians can be antagonists while antagonists doesn’t have to be villians. But to me, if you did something evil (like sabotaging), you’re a villan.

The ones who unfortunately aren’t well developed, and just exist to ruin MC and doesn’t give us a reason why they are a villain.

When they use the tragic backgrounds to change the viewers’ opinions on them and act as their form of “redemption”.
Yes, someone’s actions can be explained or impacted by past incidents/trauma but it should not excuse or justify the bad actions. Especially when they are hurting innocent people. Not everyone with a tragic past turn out bad…
