Eurovision 2024

I want us to return, but I really don’t think we will next year, maybe the year after again :person_shrugging:t3:

Well then

Good thing we can’t vote for our own countries anyway

This whole thing is overrated anyway, it’s just one massive political game rather than actually about the music. I think next year I might listen the songs and support the artists, but won’t actually watch the shows

For this year, I couldn’t force myself to watch more than 10 minutes, it just feels weird

I only watch the finale

Oof, seems like the incident with Joost was more serious than I thought. Supposedly he got really aggressive and broke a camera of a camera woman who had filmed him when there was an agreement he wouldn’t be filmed backstage. Still no excuse to physically get aggressive tho, even if there was no physical violence towards the woman, if he got that aggressive he broke the camera, I start to feel like his disqualification is more valid. Still tho, what happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Oooooof, all these countries that are coming forward that the situation behind the scenes at Eurovision this year was terrible, so many incidents, so many contestants that haven’t felt like it was a safe environment.
Nothing happened with all their complaints, and then wat exactly happened with Joost, there’s still no clarity. Or if we would say in Dutch Joost mag het weten (this is sort of a saying that no one really knows what happened). My personal opinion, yeah, Joost probably did something, he’s not fully innocent for sure, but the EBU has used this incident to take away focus from all the mess that was already ongoing.
This year really was the biggest mess ever
I think it’s time for Martin Österdahl to leave his function
There’s enough time before the next Eurovision to fix things again, pleaseee Eurovision. If nothing happens, there might not be an Eurovision again, I think a lot of countries aren’t necessarily excited to return rn.

I swear, if it comes out the prior complaints of the Netherlands have to do with that camerawoman with who the latter incident happened, I’m going to be so upset.
Sorry, but then the EBU is responsible for causing this incident with Joost. If they clearly specified, she’s doing things Joost isn’t comfortable with, and it continued to happen, yeah aggression isn’t the way to deal with it, but I would understand Joost then. If I have an agreement that’s not respected, I’ve officially complained about that before without something happening about it, and it happens again, I would be hella frustrated too

Ooooh, now there’s this whole investigation into all the things that have been reported by the delegations. And the Netherlands is lowkey threatening to not participate if things don’t change, this is so much drama still even weeks later :sob:
