His knee bounced up and down in a steady rhythm as he watched the students file into the classroom. Him and Namen were early. A rare sight indeed considering the two were anything but responsible when it came to dutifully fulfilling attendance requirements. Namen’s parents had both warned him about getting expelled and Kace was already given a warning as well. He wasn’t about to be sent home to become a small-town hunter.
“6. 4. 5. Definite 5.”
Kace glanced over at Namen as he spouted off a random series of numbers. The two weren’t necessarily friends out of choice. They were forced into it when they were assigned to be roommates.
“Rating future hook ups. Do you mind?” Namen guffawed, flicking a finger at him like he was being an annoying and intrusive child. Kace rolled his eyes but decided he’d do the same thing in his head. Why not? He was bored. Three…seven…
“Well hot mama. We’ve got ourselves a five plus five!”
Kace lifted a brow over at Namen as he situated his jacket and smirked at the blonde sweeping gracefully into the room. Kace recognized her immediately and clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. Great. Callie Charming walked in looking as if she had a bubble full of farting unicorns around her.
Well it couldn’t be that bad. After all, Kace was pretty straight forward that he wasn’t in the mood to play around with her the night he brought her back to her dorm. She’d undoubtedly keep her space.
“You’re more interested in the gold she’s got on her person, aren’t you?” Kace said as he drew his eyes back over to Callie.
“I’m not going to say I didn’t notice it, yes. But I’d say I’m more intrigued at what kind of girl’s wearing it.”
Kace shrugged and leaned back in his seat. “She’s like every other ditzy princess in this place; rich, entitled, and plastic.”
Namen gave a light chuckle in response. “What crapped in your royal pixie flakes this morning?” The pirate gave a playful smirk before tapping the end of his pen against his bottom lip. “Something tells me you’re pretty upset about the lack of action you’ve been getting.”
“What?”
“Admit it Kace. You’ve lost your touch. Kace the Huntsman let a girl allow him to become a lame bore.”
He snapped his head over defensively. “The hell are you talking about?”
Namen pointed his pencil over at Callie. “Through my incredibly amazing detective skills, I’ve caught about four other guys already planning on how they’re gonna hook up with blondie over there tonight. Five of my best pieces of jewelry says you’d completely fail at beating them to it.”
Kace could have cared less. At least that’s what he told himself before Namen mentioned Adaline…had she really impacted him enough to allow him to change his whole character? The whole non-committal thing? That would mean in some weird twisted sense he’d lost…and he wasn’t big on losing. Gritting his teeth, he cleared his throat and pushed himself back from his chair, standing up and leaning over to Namen. “I don’t want to hear you crying the entire night over how you lost your stuff. A deal’s a deal.” Namen’s smirk was a devilish one as he nodded, completely confident in his deduction about Kace.
He walked over to the daughter of the famous Charming’s, his mind strangely blank on what he was supposed to say; Gods, did he actually lose his skill? No. No he did not. There was another guy approaching which caused Kace to quicken his step.
“Literature class requires heels too then huh?” He randomly stated as he lazily leaned himself against her desk, arms crossed. “I swear you’re following me, aren’t you?” He gave a smirk before shooting a warning glance at another prince who was about to interrupt them.
@ethereal - oh gosh. this is so dang bad. I had no idea how to approach XD
