Castleteria || With Ophelia

It was a strange feeling not waking up in the comfort of his own room, back in the castle. Not waking up to the clicking sound of heels as they echo their presence on a wood floor and sounds like chopping or banging coming from the kitchen. But it was also a good feeling; a little change, being in a different place with so many different people. The only thing he didn’t get to do is explore the place and meet some students - Madeline and Noah arrived late the day before or the night before. It was a long ride, a bit bumpy but not something Noah minded. The whole time they were in a little carriage, Noah kept his eyes glued on the little window, watching as the scenes changed in front of him; from his little village to wooded areas and empty fields. Occasionally shifting his gaze down to the old history book sitting on his lap.

That ride was supposed to make him tired, but it did the opposite. It took him a while to fall asleep in his new bed, in the unfamiliar room and dorm he was sharing with a stranger, a stranger he didn’t even get a chance to meet… yet. The rays of the sun creeping through the curtains woke him up rather early, but he often woke up like that and tried to use that time as productively as he could. Adjusting his eyes to the bright light, he sat up resting his elbows on his knees as he looked to the other, darker side of the room. For a second he just stayed like that, taking in his surroundings as the room became filled with the chirping of birds and the scampering of chipmunks. Chipmunks? Yes, it was different than home but the realization of being at the school was slowly starting to sink in, making him more and more excited. Throwing the quilt to the side, he got out of bed walking to the wardrobe that was in the very corner of the room, taking out the school uniform he received along with the invitation. Not really his style but who was he to complain? If he had to wear it, he would wear it - collared shirt, vest, suit jacket, pants… Nice, really, but a bit too much for his liking.

The whole place was nice, his dorm, it had everything he needed and more. He wasn’t expecting all of that; a bedroom just for himself, a living room with a balcony, and such a stunning view. Even a kitchen, but he had special plans for this day that didn’t allow him to explore the dorm much, so fixing the suit jacket he walked out of the door and down the hallway that was still empty. What mattered to him was being on time and being a good student, taking advantage of this opportunity so walking around and getting to know the school was his priority. He already knew when he had all of his classes, what his first class was and what his last was. A bit too ambitious but… that was Noah for you. He was taking the extra time he had that morning to find all the classrooms and figure out the easiest ways to get to them later, until he found himself in front of the castleteria, right on time when all the students were slowly starting to show up.

Catching the looks from some of them, he made sure his smile didn’t falter for a second as he walked towards the counter, his hand in his pocket playing with the change he grabbed for food before getting out of his dorm. And as he paid for the fruit mixture and three moon jelly donut holes, he turned to face the spacious room; dozens of round wooden tables with plush velvet chairs, tables with gold and silver-plated utensils. His gaze soon fell upon the door leading to the outside area, but before he started walking towards it, he stopped to look around, hoping to spot his sister. Coming here he wanted nothing but to make sure she was alright, happy and stayed out of trouble, but he hasn’t seen her all morning. As he made his way to the outside area, his gaze traveled across the place stopping at a blonde girl sitting all alone and seeing it was useless looking for his sister, he approached the girl with a bright smile. “Can I?” Pointing at the chair, he stopped for a second waiting for her reply even if he knew they weren’t allowed to say no; just some good manners and not wanting to seem like he didn’t care about the way she felt about it. “Do you want one?” Taking a seat and setting the plate down on the table, he offered her one jelly donut, his eyebrow slightly raising. “It’s a bit too much and I guess I’m starting to get nervous. Being here is crazy,” but he soon laughed lightly, leaning back in his chair, before adding, “I didn’t do anything to it, I swear!”
