Fortunately, Valen was fast to catch on that she didn’t want to talk about this topic. Ahnvi heaved a sigh of relief and smiled at him. She felt nice knowing he tried to make small talk. Even though it wasn’t what she wanted to chat about, she appreciated his efforts. “So… you have any siblings?” she asked, slinging a hand around his arm and leaning closer.
Valen stopped for a mere second and then continued walking. “You have no idea where we can find a cafe, do you?” She asked, raising her eyebrows at him. For a moment, she was surprised she was this straightforward with him. Ahnvi’s not the kind to speak out her mind or beat around the bush for too long either. A second later, she let out a chuckle and looked at him, who seemed a bit more relaxed now. “We’ll find something. Even if it isn’t a cafe.” Ahnvi nodded. “Yeah… I don’t really care if we go to a cafe or not. Anywhere is fine.” she gave him a reassuring smile. “Unless it’s a classroom with boring teachers.” she rolled her eyes and looked ahead. There weren’t many people in the hallways. They had probably gone to class.
“I’ll pull something together.” he said confidently. “Unless you so happen to know the school better, maybe?” “Well, I don’t know if we’ll ever find a cafe in the school, but I’m sure we can find one in the town. There are shops too! It’s a ten-minute walk from the school, though. Do you have a vehicle that can take us there? Maybe a magic carriage?” she chuckled. “I don’t know about you, but I’m not walking the whole way there. Especially in these!” she looked down at her heels. They were starting to hurt a bit, but she was used to it. Beauty is pain, and looking beautiful all the time is exhausting! But, oh well, what’s the worst that could happen? She was used to bleeding feet and a few bruises here and there. Maybe her feet were bleeding right now… It did feel a bit wet down there (this sounds very wrong but i swear that wasn’t the intention).
