“Cuan lejos?” She sighed, “Así que me llevarás, Alec.” “As far as you’ll take me, Alec.” She answered, squeezing the hand she was still holding tighter and smiling up at him. Though his other hand soon left hers, and he leaned away from her with his lips pursed as he questioned whether she deserved to lay her hands on him from that moment forth. She knew he was just playing around, but she missed the feeling of his warm hands in hers. She tilted her head to the side, giving him a pleading look. “Pleeeeeeeease?” “You thought I was a cheater?” He finished for her, pressing his lips together, a teasing glint in his eye-he wanted to see her reaction. She folded her arms across her chest, hugging herself nervously. “Er…I…well…” His eyes popped open and he made a very real gagging noise. “What? No. Do I look like that type of person?” His frown was not teasing, and neither was his tone. Camilla was jolted from her humiliation, looking momentarily afraid. “No!! Of course not! I don’t know why I even said that… I guess I was just really confused and…are you mad at me?” She looked stricken-she didn’t want to lose two friends in the span of two days. That would be a record. And she really did feel a connection with Alec. She felt even more stupid now. She kept her arms crossed too, but not because she was mad. It was as if her arms were giving her a hug, comforting and protecting her. His eyes softened, which made her feel a bit better… And was he going to kiss her?! No, he pulled away last-minute, betraying her for pizza. Her eyes widened and she looked at him with surprise. “I would be the one to decide that.” She blushed, “And your decision…?” “You’re as light as a feather.” Worriedness turned into a big smile, though she looked like she thought he was joking with her. She laughed, placing her hands on his chest for balance, wondering if she should try to get up, too. “Haha, is that so?”
