“Well, just know, I’m ready whenever you are.” kristi smirked, “Ok let me say it now. I d-d-don-” Kristi stuttered, Huh! Kristi never stuttered. How was she suppose to rule a kingdom and be queen regnant if she stuttered? She would never be taken seriously. “You know what, I will need a drink.” Kristi flicked her fingers and a small glass of water appeared, Kristi grabbed it. And drank, now she was ready, “Look smurf, dart frog, blueberry, blue icing or whatever nicknames i’ve given you. I do-do-do” Fck.

What was messing with her?

“I’m crushing on the devil himse- herself.” Aquilla locked eyes with her, "Not to mention, you could probably kill me with the snap of your finger. But I have a feeling your of kind of person to want to get your hands dirty. Kristi seriously wished she could kill people with the snap of her fingers, but she was at level 8.8, to do that you would have to be at level 10. Kristi had killed people, with her bare hands, but not snapping her fingers like it was nothing, no- that would require an amount of power she didn’t have. “Your dam right I could, but you’re wrong about the last part. I do like getting my hands dirty” She purred.

“Or at least draw it out. You wouldn’t want it to end to quickly, right?” Kristi smirked.

“Ouch, how’d you know? I’ve been working on that party trick lately.” Haldir arched an eyebrow, “Really? Try then. Sure me to trick and disappear from my eyes forever”

"Hey, mysterious stranger? I never got your name.” And you never will, Haldir thought. Not if he had his way with it. “and I’m persistent.” Haldir with a bored tone said “And i’m strong willed” He didn’t trust Wei, the way he was so persistent to annoy him to disturbed him greatly.

Kace’s hand grabbed onto a low hanging branch as he brushed past it, spitting out a few leaves that had managed to get caught in his mouth. He knew this Forrest like the back of his hand by now, and he knew for a fact that Callie had probably only walked past the trees for a good photo shoot.

It didn’t take him long to catch up to the breathless princess and he gave her a wink as he flew past. “Surely you’re used to losing right?” There was absolutely no hesitation as he traversed his way up the cliff. After being a bird for a few months, things like heights didn’t tend to phase you anymore. The moment he reached the top, he ran straight off the edge and into the frigid water.

Swimming in clothing wasn’t ideal, but he ignored the added water-weight and broke through the surface, making his way to the bank. He stumbled slightly over the rocks as he scrambled to his feet. The hunter placed his hands on his hips and looked around expectantly.

Callie’s clippity cloppity heels could be heard from a mile away and Kace couldn’t help but give an amused smile as he crossed his arms and looked upward towards the cliff. He stayed silent, simply observing from the side. He could tell she was scared. In fact, he figured she’d give up.

But she stepped forward and let gravity do the rest.
He chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck, pulling off his boots and emptying the water out from them before tossing them aside.
“Kace?”
“I’ve been thinking and man. I think I really want to see you eat a worm. Or maaaaaybe, just maybe, I’d like a shiny new bow. Oooh, how about I get you to walk around campus in a chicken suit? The possibilities are endless.” Kace made his way back into the water and outstretched his hand near the bank, waiting for the frantic princess to swim over.

I smiled “Oh well in that case we’ll work it out together. Facebook you say? I haven’t heard of it either.” Not knowing anything about humans made me feel ashamed so I looked down while my face grew hotter and more red. “You must think I’m stupid, I know nothing.” After she answered that the bell rang and I looked at her knowing this is the moment to decided if we’re going on that … well date, or if she wanted to just eat lunch and maybe … probably get rid of me and my forward advances.

After a chilling fourth period-Villain History & Skills- Garçon was left in a bit less of a chipper mood than before. Even though meeting Alawa had been nice and he was still excited for each new memory and friend to come, the teacher had been incredibly intimidating and spiteful, and he hadn’t learned any more about Gaston. But was there really anything else to learn anyways? Of course, he had written the paper that had been assigned to him on Gaston-the best villain of all time. Though he grimaced at referring to his father that way. Sure, he’d made his (un)fair share of disagreeable choices, but he was Garçon 's father, and he couldn’t possibly be all bad. That class was much too intense for any conversation, so only one friend had been made so far. Now it was time for lunch, a time to rest his mind, and refresh with a delicious meal. He’d locate a group of popular, open-looking people and join in, quadrupling his friend pool so far. Or maybe he’d look for Dae and Alawa.

He decided to order two slices of Peter’s Picked Pepperoni Pizza and fizzy water. It was served to him almost immediately, pizza warm with the oil sizzling in tiny pools, small bubbles rising to the surface of his drink. He thanked the ladies before turning to face the tables of students. Ah, there. A table, lit up by a ray of sun coming through a sky-high window. A table of beautiful, friendly, laughing people his age. That was the crowd he wanted to be a part of. He began to saunter towards them in a casual manner, grinning and complimenting people as he walked through a sea of students. His entire body was aimed in the direction of the table, but his dark eyes flicked around to take in all the new, unfamiliar faces. And that’s how he saw him.

His entire body was aimed in the direction of the table, but his dark eyes flicked around to take in all the new, unfamiliar faces. And that’s how he saw him.

This table was quite unlike the one Garçon strode towards. Out of the sun’s golden spotlight, a tiny table tucked in the back corner of the room. He could only see the back of his head-covered in curly dark hair. Tanned skin peeked out from under the brown curls, headphones atop his head. He was the only person at the table. How could he recognize someone by only the back of their head? Someone whose name he didn’t know-someone whose face was only a blurred memory? Someone who he’d only caught a glimpse of? He could still remember that vividly-the hot summer air, the singing, the dancing, the salty smells. The fireflies flickering through the air, the laughing women and chuckling men. And him. Standing in the festival crowd. People blocked his view, and the man had disappeared. Had he even been real? The boy sitting yards away from him verified he had not been a beautiful figment of Garçon’s imagination.

He immediately shifted directions, though he’d been standing there for a long moment. Tray in hands, and clique forgotten, he approached the lone table, taking a seat across from the boy and wondering how he should excuse himself if this boy didn’t have the festival boy’s deep eyes and freckled nose. Luckily, he did, and the boy from so long ago was right there, only inches away. Up close, he was even more irresistible. Perfect nose, perfect lips, absorbed in whatever music he was listening to, chewing on the spiral pasta on his tray. Though surely he’d stopped now that Garçon had set down his tray in front of him, smiling. Not his usual confident smile, he looked a little nervous, heart thumping in his chest. What would he say? He could not say, “I finally found you.” And sound like a stalker or assassin. “Hey, there. This seat isn’t taken, isn’t it?”

Camilla ran through the hallways, barreling through students headed in the same direction-the Castleteria. She was breathing heavily-screaming apologies in the directions of the people she sent crashing to the tile. Wrapped candies spilled out of her chicken-shaped purse, Betty. Her sneakers made large slapping noises on the tile, squeaking as she made a sharp turn into the huge room. Why was she running? It wasn’t because she was hungry and wanted to get a good place in the line. Her fourth period class, Chemythstry had just ended. And after classes ended, her older brother Jason would arrive on the dot to escort her to the Castleteria. Which sounded nice, if it wasn’t every single day. Camilla never got to do what she wanted! She was always being babysat and had to eat a healthy meal alone with her big brother. She was trying to be more independent now-and she could get her own lunch.

Though she was re-thinking things now. Perhaps she should’ve waited for Jason after all because he was the one with the money. She didn’t have any money, except maybe a stray coin in her purse. She would have to go hungry, and smelling all these delicious smells while doing so would be torture. Oh well, she couldn’t go back now. She’d only get an earful and that could be saved for later today. Camilla continued to walk towards the tables. She already felt weak from how hungry she would be for the rest of the day. “Cam?” She heard a deep voice, and scampered off towards the first table she could see. She sat down quickly, shielding her face with the cranberry cloth of her uniform cloak until the voice could no longer be heard. Little did she know it wasn’t even Jason, or “Cam” but oh, well.

The first thing she noticed when her chocolate doe-eyes opened was a huge pizza. The smell of the pepperoni and cheese wafted to her nose. She inhaled deeply-one of her favorites. She just wanted to take a slice and shove it in her mouth. But she resisted, it obviously belonged to someone. Arm slowly resting at her side, she looked up into his eyes…

Are you a magician? Because every time I look at you, everything else just disappears.

Lunch room

An attractive olive skinned, young girl with black jet hair sat down on the seat next to him and covered her face with the cranberry cloth of her uniform- Alec was happy his parents didn’t fully read the part of the ‘school’ uniform unless he would have been made to wear it and not his favorite leather jacket. Anyways, Alec couldn’t help chuckling from what the girl was doing. “Hiding from anyone?” Alec voice was cool, deep and soothing as his smirked. She didn’t respond and Alec frowned, he waved the pizza around her face “Hello? is anyone in that pretty head of yours?” He chuckled. Alec withdrew the pizza from her face as she opened her eyes, she looked up into his eyes and Alec looked back into hers “It’s seems you didn’t here me before.” He commented. “I’m Alec and you are?” He took a bite of his pizza.

“Thanks, my dad got it for me. I like yours too! I like how the whole colors thing works for you.” Autumn replied as she also took an apple from the basket and rinsed it. “Oh, nice. And ah, thank you. Colors are kinda my thing. My Mom’s thing too. I’m a bit obsessed, I bet you could tell.” With the hand holding the apple, Sonny gestured to the extremely colorful kitchen. Autumn blushed at the compliment-which was more of an observation to Sonny, then refused. “Me, a professional baker? No way! I mean, I want to be, but I’m nowhere close to being that good.” Sonny frowned slightly, “Hey, don’t say that. I’m sure this pie will taste amazing. And you should follow your dreams-whatever they are.” They patted Autumn on the shoulder, smiling sympathetically and not worrying they were being too cheesy.

Autumn also refused to let Sonny do the rest of the work, which was very kind. Sonny continued to wash, peel, core, and slice at a good pace, listening to Autumn as she spoke. “Ah, sorry, I didn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to do what you enjoy. I just want to make sure I’m not being lazy,” Sonny joked, smiling in a friendly way. Sonny let Autumn put the apples in a bowl and add things to that bowl-white and brown sugar, cinnamon, salt. The brown sugar and cinnamon were quite pretty to Sonny, who couldn’t resist sprinkling in a bit extra of each. Sonny grinned, scooping the rest of the scrumptious-smelling batter into the pan and thanking Autumn. They then watched with wide eyes and a quick-beating heart as Autumn began to pepper the top of their creation with hearts cut out of dough. “I like to add little details to my pies, so I really hope you don’t mind.” Sonny began to mold hearts of their own. This almost felt romantic…but no, Autumn just did cute things. “Of course not. That’s so sweet!” They said excitedly, hoping Autumn wouldn’t mind their extra touches and think they were ruining the pie. They stepped back as Autumn added even more sugar in cinnamon, admiring their handiwork. “It looks amazing, I can’t wait to eat it!” The pan was slid into the oven, the timer set, making tiny bleeps. “So, what shall we do in the meantime?” Sonny looked at her. “Have you ever played Candyland? I’m the champion between me and my brother…”

about an hour and an intense game of Candyland later…

The timer went off, alerting the two who sat on the fluffy living room carpet, nearing the end of their game. Digging their hands into the fuzz and pushing themself up, Sonny offered their hand to Autumn with a broad smile, “Are you ready to see how our creation has turned out? Mmm, I can smell it from here.”

@bluecookies - apple queen : i didn’t include much about their game, because i didn’t want to godmod but i can include more later, and feel free to as well!! we can always discuss how it goes!! enjoy, your post was adorbs~

She was blushing, tomato red spilling across her white face as her eyes flicked to the ground. Though that did boost Garçon’s ego quite a bit, he also didn’t want her to feel nervous around him, he was a chill, easygoing guy. He didn’t want to call her out or anything, he’d just have to keep talking. She blinked, timid expression changing to one of excitement. Pretty white teeth made their appearance. “Y-you’ve been to America, Senior Garçon? I’ve always wanted to go to America!” He grinned, nodding humbly. “Yes, for the past four years, I studied abroad in America as an exchange student,” He informed her, smiling in a charming way. “I had so much fun there. What’s keeping you from going, Alawa?” He leaned in, interested as he looked at her. She asked him to elaborate on his experiences in America-which he would be happy to do. Though Garçon loved meeting new people and hearing about their experiences, he also loved to talk about himself. “Well, there was a lot of studying. I was invited by a pretty elite school in America to study there…Oh, by the way, I’m from France if you couldn’t tell.” He chuckled. He had a French accent, a bit of a light one, but extremely noticeable. “We went on a lot of trips, I’ve been to about a dozen states…New York City, Washington DC, Los Angeles…Actually, one of my best friends from America is also at this school.” Her smile was really pretty.

“Surely you’re used to losing, right?” Kace taunted, shooting Callie a wink that almost made her trip over a tree branch as he flew past her. Her expression darkened, and she shook her head. “Why don’t you go trip over another tree branch!” She tried to yell at him as he ran off, but he was so far ahead by then, it was unlikely he even heard. Maybe that was a good thing-she didn’t actually want him to hurt himself again. Though she needed another opportunity to get ahead…

“Kace?” A few moments after her call, it was answered with something not-so reassuring… “I’ve been thinking and man. I think I really want to see you eat a worm. Or maaaaybe, just maybe, I’d like a shiny new bow. Oooh, how about I get you to walk around campus in a chicken suit? The possibilities are endless.” She used her arms to propel herself through the water, towards Kace’s smug voice. Her eyes stayed shut closed. She was afraid to wipe them dry and take her expertly-done makeup too. Though that was unlikely-not only was her makeup waterproof (in case of tears), it was also mixed with so many enchantments, it was basically permanent. Still, her eyeliner and eyeshadow were slightly smudged, and her lip gloss was basically gone. Basically, her makeup wouldn’t be as immaculate as she wanted-if she could see herself. Her ponytail was now a low ponytail, black bow losing its tie, tail hanging at her neck. She could feel it. She’d have to re-adjust that. And… WAS SHE MISSING A SHOE?!

Just the word ‘worm’ made her want to throw up, as she pictured a wiggling pink worm inside her mouth. A chicken suit would make her the laughingstock of the school, and if it were mustard yellow, like most, it would definitely clash with her hair. The bow was the least bad option-she had plenty of money, and it wouldn’t make her look stupid. She’d probably get him something like that for his birthday anyways… unless he forgot about her by then. She continued to swim. She felt heavy and ugly and frustrated. Why did she ever think she had a chance? Finally, she was able to squint, blinking rapidly. Inches away from her nose was Kace’s hand. She took it, gripping as hard as she could (again, not very hard) and freeing herself from the water. She stood there next to him for a moment, dripping water everywhere and catching her breath.

Then, she went into makeover-mode. She took out her ponytail, combing through her stringy blonde hair . She shoved the ribbon in her pocket since wet, down hair looked s-xier than a ponytail that looked like it consisted of only three hairs. She didn’t have a mirror, so she turned, bending to see her reflection. Yikes. Not much could be fixed, but smudges could be wiped away to sharpen up the eyeshadow. A charming smile could be forced onto her lips-smiles were pretty. She turned back to Kace with the grimace on her face, struggling to stand because, unfortunately, she had lost a heel-one of her favorites that went best with her uniform. It was probably at the top of the cliffs or sinking into the water. Probably the latter. Thinking she looked better, she began to wring out her dress and hair. “One. You can only choose one of those horrible options. And please, get it over with quickly.” She whimpered, holding out one finger as she said this. She winced…please not the worm, please not the worm, please not the worm…

It’s a wonderful thing to be optimistic. It keeps you healthy and it keeps you resilient- Daniel Kahneman

“Yes, for the past four years, I studied abroad in America as an exchange student,” EEh! That was so cool, Alawa thought. “I had so much fun there. What’s keeping you from going, Alawa?” He asked leaning in, “I’ve been busy with my grandma, so I couldn’t really travel to anywhere except to countries she took me too.” Alawa told him. Alawa actually did enjoy travelling with her grandma and going to places, it was so fun going to different countries but she had always wanted to visit America. That country always seemed to cross her mind as she travelled. “Well, there was a lot of studying. I was invited by a pretty elite school in America to study there…Oh, by the way, I’m from France if you couldn’t tell.” Alawa giggled, “I could notice by your accent.” She closed her eyes and gave him a smile. She loved listening to people talk about their adventures, she loved listening to people talk about how happy they were in general. Alawa had always love seeing people smile, she loved seeing everyone positive, she believed it as increasing their life source/spirit and in order to have a long prosperous life, everyone must keep their spirits positive. And even science was there to prove it! Being positive helped your health. “We went on a lot of trips, I’ve been to about a dozen states…New York City, Washington DC, Los Angeles…Actually, one of my best friends from America is also at this school.” Alawa’s eyes widened, “Really? Can I met them?” Alawa looked at him and gave him her best puppy eyes.

Hanako quickly shook her head when Lav said she must think he was stupid. “No, never! You were just isolated. It makes sense you wouldn’t know as much about the outside world. You’re not stupid at all, I promise.” Hanako said, squeezing his shoulder reassuringly. The bell for lunch rang, and Hanako stood up with a smile, waiting for Lav to follow.

Nearly black eyes hit Camilla in the face like a brick wall. These eyes were followed by a sharp jawline, perfect, glowing skin, and a gorgeous smile. The guy in front of her looked like a prince out of her daydreams, he was probably the most gorgeous guy here, Sorry Ru the knight… She looked stunned, mouth forming a tiny ‘o’, eyes wide, heart racing from both all that running as well as the vision in fron of her. He chuckled at her, snapping her back to reality, but also letting her heart skip a beat. “Hiding from anyone?” His voice was deeper than the ocean, and for once in her life, Camilla felt lost for words. She nodded quickly, looking to the side. “Yes! …My brother…He’s pretty protective of me,” She sighed, sounding sadder than her expression showed, looking down. Her cheeks were hot and red, like two pepperonis from the pizza next to them.

“You don’t mind if I use you as a shield?” Camilla asked with hopeful eyes, even though she knew that if Jason caught her with his handsome guy, she’d be in even more trouble. She laughed nervously after her question. He waved his slice of pizza in her face, fully snapping her from her trance. “Hello? Is anyone in that pretty head of yours?” “Yes! Sorry! Lots! Plenty! I’m so sorry-wait, pretty?” The blush had returned, though her eyes were glued to the delicious slice of pizza wagging in front of her. Her mouth watered. Her stomach felt hollow. “It seems you didn’t hear me before. I’m Alec and you are?” He took a bite, which was very torturous to watch. “Sorry! I didn’t think anyone was here, I needed to hide because I thought i heard Jason…I’m Camilla! You can call me Cami or Cam though, most people do!” Alec…

“Yes! …My brother…He’s pretty protective of me,” She sighed, her voice sounding as sad as the sunless sea. Alec frowned, this time he was going to be nice-ish. Not wanting a repeat of what happened before and he doubt that would happen, she had eyes and from her blushing expression he could tell she was attracted to him. “You don’t sound to happy about it” He took a bite of his pizza.

“You don’t mind if I use you as a shield?” Alec eyes widened, before an a smirk fell on his face, “You can use my body all you like” He flirted. “Yes! Sorry! Lots! Plenty! I’m so sorry-wait, pretty?” Alec grinned as she blushed, “Yes pretty, I wonder what your brother did to all the guys who had taken a fancy to your charms.” Alec took got another pizza slice from his plate, and took a small bite from it. Alec looked back at the girl, to see her eyeing his pizza and he laughed. “Want some?” He got a slice of pizza from his plate, putting a hand under he brought it to her lips. “Sorry! I didn’t think anyone was here, I needed to hide because I thought i heard Jason…I’m Camilla! You can call me Cami or Cam though, most people do!” Still holding the pizza close to her lips he said “Camilla, such a fitting name for a pretty girl.” Using one free hand, he pushed a hair strand from Cam’s hair.

“See you there!” Valentina beamed, waving at the couple that had just purchased their tickets to the dance. They grinned nervously, then scuttled away, tickets in hand. She could sense an off vibe-perhaps she’d made them uncomfortable. She wanted to kick herself-oh no! As the school cupid, she wasn’t supposed to be making people uncomfortable, they were supposed to trust her, confide in her, ask her questions. The teachers seemed like they didn’t want her hovering around either, sending glances her way occasionally. She was hungry anyways. Maybe she should observe from a nearby table instead of standing. But just as she was about to flutter off, she noticed something-well, someone, interesting. A girl, looking in the direction of the booth. A strange expression was behind her bark-brown eyes as she turned away. Valentina’s interest had been piqued.

With haste (not noticable haste), she strode towards the girl, trying not to lose her in the sea of students holding trays in their hands. When she finally reached her, she leaned in slightly to pat her shoulder. “Hi.” She smiled sweetly. Up close, she could see more of the girl-pretty with soft brown hair, freckles, and light skin. She glanced back towards the booth. “Not going to buy a ticket?” She asked innocently.

Admiration sparkled in her eyes, sending euphoria coursing through Garçon’s veins. Being admired felt amazing. “I’ve been busy with my grandma, so I couldn’t really travel to anywhere except to countries she took me to.” Alawa explained. “Oh, what countries have you visited? What’s your grandma like?” Garcon attempted to get more personal, looking genuinely interested in what Alawa had to say. He wondered if she’d been to France. If so, they’d never crossed paths. She giggled, reminding Garçon’s of a tiny bell. “I could notice by your accent.” He laughed too as she flashed him an adorable smile, cheeks rosy, eyes closed. As expected. “Really? Can I meet them?” Alawa asked regarding his best friend from America. Garçon would be happy to introduce the two though… She seemed well mannered as well as well-off. Not that Garçon minded if she wasn’t, especially for the latter. But Dae would. He was a bit of a snob sometimes, and definitely more of a player than Garçon but he was a good guy, and Alawa was so sweet, she’d probably get along with him. Besides, those puppy-dog eyes were wayy too cute to resist. “Of course. I’d be happy to introduce you to him. Just don’t forget about me afterwards…” He booped her on the tip of her button nose, winking teasingly.

Be proud of who you are, and not ashamed of how someone else sees you

“Oh, what countries have you visited? What’s your grandma like?” Alawa blinked, “Oh, I’ve been to Greece, Ethiopia, South Korea, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Nigeria, New Zealand, Brazil, Japan and China. And my grandma” Alawa smiled, “She’s the best person ever. She is sweet, kind and my role model. She loves spending time with my siblings and I, even taken as to Tivoli Gardens. Though, she sometimes shows that she prefers me to my siblings’ Alawa frowned at that, sometimes when her grandma would do that her siblings would glare at her, they loved her and Alawa knew that but they also were jealous of her and grandmas relationship and Alawa would cry and beg grandma to spend time with them too. She didn’t want her to show any favoritism towards her, she fears her siblings light force would be negative if they get too jealous. “Of course. I’d be happy to introduce you to him. Just don’t forget about me afterwards…” Alawa gasp at his last words, “Never, senior” Alawa wasn’t one to forget her new friends. “After all I knew you first” She smiled as she stared into his brown eyes. The stare was quite long before it was broken by the sound of Ja-ja again. Alawa look into her backpack and got another carrot and gave it to him, ‘Geez, you’re really hungry’ she giggled at her pet. 'Yes I am, M’lady” her bunny jokingly said. Though to people who couldn’t communicate with Ja-ja it sounded like a purr.

He frowned at her. Did she sound ungrateful for having a brother who cared about her? For someone who cared so much about her he acted more like a father than a sibling? She looked nervous. Perhaps he was one of those people who just didn’t understand Camilla’s wretched burden. “You don’t sound too happy about it,” The boy replied before taking another bite of pizza. “I’m not. He’s kinda cuckoo.” Camilla whirled her pointer finger around her ear and made a goofy face to demonstrate. She sighed again. “I just wanna eat lunch with some friends. I can handle myself. No one tells you what to do and what to eat and who to hang out with, right?” She stared at him with wide, pleading eyes.

“You can use my body all you’d like”. He smirked. Perhaps Camilla wouldn’t need a shield now-there was no way her brother would recognize her with such a red face. She practically blended into her uniform. Did he mean… No! What was she thinking! How did she even understand that! “Thank you!” She bubbled, trying not to get all flustered and non-Camilla again. She put her slightly wobbly hands on his shoulders, scooting him over and pushing him to the right a tiny bit. She grinned cheerily. “Perfect!! He’ll never see me now!” She felt a lot safer. Plus, her brother probably thought she knew better than to associate with a guy. She didn’t.

And speaking of Jason… “Yes, pretty, I wonder what your brother did to all the guys who had taken a fancy to your charms.” Camilla’s throat felt tight, and she exhaled to try to breathe out all the shakiness. “Things…didn’t go so well for him.” Her mind flashed with memories of him, the only guy who ever showed interest in Camilla. Fun memories turned somber. She didn’t have him anymore. “But only because I let him get caught.” Coal eyes flicked up under lowered eyelids as she spoke to Alec, smile gone, mystery in her eyes. If she ever found someone who actually liked her again, she would NEVER let Jason know about them! She would never let him meddle in and ruin her love life again!

He laughed as he noticed Camilla eyeing the pizza slice. “Want some?” Before she could scream a yes, a slice of pizza dangled close to her lips. Her eyes locked on it-she looked sorta cross-eyed. She glanced at him before taking a tentative bite-normally that kinda thing would make her feel babied, but this felt different…romantic almost. She swallowed- “Mmm, I forgot how good the pizza here is.” Said Camilla happily, taking another bite, her heart full of tiny butterflies. “Camilla, such a fitting name for a pretty girl.” He pushed a hair away from her face that had slipped from her headband. She blushed, “Alec’s a really pretty name too! I mean, handsome. I mean you’re handsome, I mean…” She shut herself up with more pizza.

He swept his eyes around the room, occasionally. Students came in and out, joking quietly with others or snorting with laughter at high volume. Despite his skepticism, Grégorie increasingly turned his chocolate eyes toward the ticket booth. Some girl was situated there, staring frantically at the approaching couples. Her amaranth hair bounced with every turn of her head. Watching her preoccupation, Grégorie deduced that she was the school’s cupid. She was fascinated with high school sweethearts, new relationships, and of course, matchmaking those pitiful loners. Her enthusiasm, generated by new couples buying a ticket for two, amused Grégorie.

Because all these relationships have a short life. After a while, those “struck by love” will get bored with each other and choose a new partner - a better model, a more modern one, that everyone likes. They will then claim that their newly chosen one is absolutely different from the previous partner. It usually can’t be further from the actual reality, observed by the eye undimmed by the veil of infatuation. But a lie repeated many times soon becomes the truth.

Everyone has a type of person, who they attract, sometimes, unconsciously. Maybe that’s what Grégorie was afraid of? That he was a walking magnet for characters that triggered repulsions in him? His father’s blood flowed through his veins, whether he wanted it or not, and the old man had no luck when it came to acquaintances.

He turned his gaze as the cupid-girl disappeared from his sight, dissolving into a flurry of people. She was chasing some student who (oh no, how could she?) hadn’t bought a ticket to the party. Grégorie realized he had to avoid the booth’s place by a wide margin on his way out. The last thing he wanted was to be confronted by the oh-so-happy matchmaker.

Before he focused on eating again, he took one last look around the room. Apart from the new apprentice - a tall boy with his hair pulled back, approaching his clique with a resolute smile - he did not notice anything noteworthy. He shrugged his shoulders and drowned in his music. He mechanically busied himself with his pasta, and nothing existed in his world except the jauntily hopping jazz notes.

A shadow covered his plate and diminished the bright red color of the tomato sauce. The table shook as the person (now standing in front of Grégorie) moved alarmingly closer to the furniture. Grégorie hesitantly lifted his brown eyes to make eye contact with the equally chocolate irises of his guest. He didn’t hide his surprise, realizing that it was the same boy he had just seen. He was approaching the table of a group of much friendlier people a moment ago with such bravado. Grégorie took off his headphones, cursing them inwardly. They had failed in their task of scaring off any people eager to talk. Next time, he would bring a large banner, announcing that he expected peace and privacy.

He wondered what made the boy change his mind about the table. The student standing in front of him looked like he was pulled straight out of pathetic romantic movies. Probably he would play the admirer who had more women than boxes of condoms hidden in the closet (so his mom or official girlfriend wouldn’t find them). It was hard to believe that he, just like that, decided to sit next to Grégorie. He sent another glance in the direction of the loudly discussing group. Perhaps it was a bet? They had been wondering who this strange new boy was, and the admirer-from-cheesy-films, who wasn’t afraid of any risks, had decided to volunteer. Now he came up here, probably waiting for the best moment to ask what cult Grégorie belonged to. The boy put on an uncertain face (maybe to gain his trust? - then, an unpleasant remark would be more painful). Grégorie didn’t expect anything from him but great acting, but the nervousness hiding in the corners of his smile was so convincing that it couldn’t have been a bluff. Grégorie ostentatiously let out a breath.

The boy (without taking his eyes off him) asked if he could sit down. Grégorie knew it was a courtesy question, but he was in such a cranky mood that he couldn’t help but give a sarcastic remark. “No, my invisible friends are sitting here. This is Adelaide,” he turned his gaze towards the nothingness sitting next to him. “She’s kinda shy.” He stuck his brown eyes on the really-nervous-admirer expecting him to rush back to his group. However, the man had already decided to set the tray on Grégorie’s table. And that meant only one thing. He wasn’t going anywhere.

Grégorie smiled reluclantly. “No, of course not. It’s free, as you can see.” He wrestled within himself not to put on his headphones and sink back into the music. His innate kindness forbade it, and for the first time, he wished he hadn’t been brought up in the teachings of good behavior. Fortunately, no politeness prevented him from being silent. He did not speak up or encourage his new “friend” to talk. He concentrated on his food, trying with all his might not to look at the rather-handsome-if-he-was-being-sincere admirer.

… …Cafeteria - Luan Phong… …

“Well, you see … I can’t share a room with anyone for fear of their safety. But there’s also a special lock on my room that was just installed that barricades the room from anything coming in or entering, be it otherwordly or not because if it were just a locked room, people would still be hurt becuase ghosts can break those barriers.” I gulped. This is the most honest thing I could say to him withouth having to say so much it would make me guilty again or that would scare him out of hanging out with me. When he said he promised I nodded as a sing of getting the message withouth having to say something. This time he was the first one to speak. He asked my name and it suddenly dawned on me I haven’t actually introduced myself but talked about promises with him. Stupid me. Immediately I answered with “Nice to meet you Luan Phong” by repeating the name I could remember it better than him just saying it. I continued “My name is a bit tricky but I doubt it will be a problem for you. It’s Kale (Kah-le) Ka’ana’ana. But my first name is written like kale, you know, the vegetable … So I believe the teacher will probably pronounce it that way and I’ll probably be known as kale anyways.”

During lunch …

“Didn’t you see me waving? I was just about to call you over when our eyes met and I realised I didn’t have to anymore.”
I looked at the empty seat next to me “Well … sit down.” I nodded my head over to the empty seat to further point out what I wanted him to do.
“I doubt you’ll find a place anywhere else, unless you found some better friends already.” Even though he does seem shy, he could’ve made a friend alredy, probably a extrovert who decided to adopt him into his group, so I said “In that case, take me with you to them.”
Then I remebered what he asked me and I said.
“Hey, I rushed off, true!” I pointed up my finger to accentuate the word ‘true’ “But I did it for a good reason. You see I came here as soon as I could to secure us, or just myself if you don’t decide to join me, the best seat in the house.” I looked around the cafeteria “Not that there’s much of a view or a good atmosphere, but still.” I jokingly said “Now, will you ever be able to bring yourself to forgive me for this terrible injustice I bestoved upon you?”

The feeling of betrayal was for Dark just an confirmation that no one was to be trusted and humans were selfish creatures. But for Dark didn’t mind that she used him anymore, after all he will be using her as well.

She introduced herself and then asked for his name but dark just shrugged. “you can say whatever you want, just use what you have been saying, it will do” He said emotionless, not caring what he’s called. He was used to being called Dark or monster but other names would do.

Dark shrugged as she . “Don’t worry, someone has to be present to know what you’re doing” He just said as he turned away and looked around the school grounds. “If you’re at least decent at making potions, then surely you can make something that lets someone forget the past hour.” He then suggests. “As well as a drink that amplifies negative emotions,” he adds with a grin as he looks over his shoulder at her. “However, there is no way you can expect it to be sustainable to be in a room full of selfish weaklings and not let them tremble with fear” He said, grinning at just the thought of those scared eyes looking up at him.

He then turned around and with a straight back he leaned forward until he was at the same eye hight as her looking at her bored already. “for someone who has the confidence in herself to take over the world, you’re really bad at explaining how you’re going to do this. Probably your lack of a useful partner is to blame for this, but maybe it’s a good idea to explain what you’re up to first rather than just telling what you don’t want to happen.” he said as if it was the most logic thing in the world. “It’s simple, you mix an emotion enhancer into a drink when you need strength, and pretend to be friends with normal weaklings for as long as you see fit.” He then added.
@Skyler2 - YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HARD IT IS TO WRITE THIS WITHOUT SAYING ‘I’ OR ‘HIM’
