“No I bring ghost … nevermind it’s too much to explain what I am and what I do.” I sighed
“I don’t like darkness much. Yeah the worst things happen at night. But, I picked this spot specifically because as soon as I sat in that free spot over there, you see where the sunlight is? Yeah I got sun in my eye and I’m pretty sure I’m still blinded.” Phew. Avoided slipping into talking about nightmarchers. I don’t know how this kid I just met would react if I told him I possbility killed a lot of people but I know there’s no way he’d trust me enough to be my friend if he knew. I sighed. “There’s nothing to forgive, I was wrong to do this withouth telling you. But what are you having? I’ll make it up to you by getting it for you.” I offered.
I’m not flirting. I’m just being extra friendly to someone who is extra attractive.
Lunch
Camilla nodded at his words, agreeing. “Yeah, I bet they were suuuper busy.” Camilla agreed, stretching out the ‘really’ Alec smirked “Yeah they were.” Alec chuckled eating a mushroom off his pizza. "Are you the oldest? I’m the youngest.” Alec stretched his arms, “oldest but I’m also a twin.” Alec smiled at the memory of him and his brother “Me and my brother called ourselves the ‘royal’ twins. Which technically we were, you know royal twins. But the way he said it” Alec chuckled at the memory of his younger self.
Camilla shook her head and looked at him with innocent eyes. Alec stared back with a flirtatious smile plastered on his face. “Oh.” Camilla replied as she stared at him with knowing eyes. Alec grinned, “So you’re willing?” He whistled as she turned away but Alec caught a glimpse of a smile. He offered another slice to her, she parted her lips and Alec put the pizza in. “I guess you’re pretty good at swallowing.” He chuckled and he peeled a pepperoni of the pizza and put it in her mouth too.
She nodded at this question, . *“Yeah, I keep him in my dorm. I also have an octopus…I don’t think he was made by magic, though. And this is Betty.” She patted the chicken purse that had until then, sat at her side on the bench. Well, Alec hadn’t noticed that purse. “You’re so awesome for sharing your food with me. I was starving.” Alec nodded grinning, his hand still on her soft thighs. “I can buy you food If you want.” He told her. Alec withdrew his hand and she let out a breath. “That-That-That’s a great middle name…” Alec chuckled, “Well you can thank my maternal aunt; Arista for that name.” Ah yes, Alec was the son of Attina, Ariel’s sister and a far away prince: Tristian, his dad. His grandpa Triton was a really fun person. Cam looked at him and Alec eyes roamed her body again, she was really pretty and had a great body- he noticed. Alec gave a nod of approval at what he saw, “You know you have a great figure” He commented looking at her lips.
“In some ways.” He said and Alawa nodded, she wanted to know what he meant by that but thought best not ask. As Garcon grinned Alawa grinned back. . “Ah, I hate to say, but I’m allergic to Ja-ja…and rabbits in general. And basically every other animal on the planet,” Alawa frowned, then look back at Ja-ja in her bag. She look down “S-so it’s my fault?”
After some time the bell for lunch rang and everybody packed, Alawa said her goodbyes to Garcon and gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
Hanako giggled when Lav said he didn’t know how to smile. “Sure your can! Just do it. It’s as simple as that. It might look weird, but at least you’re doing it!” She nodded when he asked if he was handsome. “Yep! You’re adorable.” She quickly took the picture when he smiled at her, the flash lighting up his face in a white glow. “There you go.” She said, handing his phone back. @LunaticLeviTheSecond - Lav
Sorry that took so long.
I took the phone to see myself smiling even though you can’t see much of my face. I got excited as I said “This could be my profile picture!” I mean it was perfect, you couldn’t see much of my face, but it’s still me, and I’m smiling. I don’t want too many people seeing my full face but this. “You’re really good at taking pictures, because this one is perfect.” Thank you. Then I remebered. “Hey what is the name of your profile? Just so I can add you when I finish mine.”
// hallway //
I nodded. “At least that’s what I’ve heard. I’ve never sung with anyone except my mom but I would love to try it” I said smiling. “How about we meet up at one of the music rooms during lunch and sing then?” I suggested smiling back at her with a big smile.
“All kinds of animals, all forest though. There’s Toddie the thick brown bear, Harry the super speedy rabbit, Dobber the handsome squirrel, Hennie the cheerful dear, Vinnie the sly and smart fox, and Obol the kind but slow owl” I explain. “They were the same animals that watched over my mom when she ran away from home before meeting my dad. The forest fairies have granted them eternal life as a reward as well as named them the guardian spirits of our land” I explained. @CrazyCaliope
(you had to ask, now I have the song about the animals in my head)
Hanako grinned when Lav said it could be his profile picture. “That’s a great idea. You’re more photogenic than you look.” Her cheeks tinted pink when Lav complimented her photography skills. “Really? I haven’t taken that many photos. I’m glad you like it.” Asking about her username, she blushed darker. “Mochi_Madness. Best I got.” She said, looking quite embarrassed. @LunaticLeviTheSecond - Lav
I wanted to make a fox pun, but I couldn’t think of anything.
“Take a picture, babe, it would last longer,” Ahnvi paused for a second before letting out a small chuckle. “I could, you know, take a picture.” she fiddled with her phone with her left hand. She was trying to accept that a spider, a real spider, was talking to her. Ahnvi was a bit nervous talking to her. Ahnvi was afraid that Spidy would snap her neck at any moment. She tried being careful with her words but also relaxed. It wasn’t hard for Ahnvi. Ahnvi was good at casually speaking and not constantly worried about getting her head snapped. The best, even!
“You think so?” Spidy blushed if spiders could even blush. “Yeah, I mean, I’d kill to have green eyes. And you’re the first spider who doesn’t look… scary?” Ahnvi was debating whether or not to say that. Spidy was the least scary spider she’d ever seen! Okay, maybe Ahnvi had panicked when she had come and sat with her. And she may have also imagined her head getting ripped off, but Spidy blushing when receiving a compliment was cute!
After Emeka explained his reason, Anang nodded again. “That’s a nice reason!” Yes, compliments. Those always worked. Not only is the other person happier, but Anang managed to socialize better. They pondered for a moment on what someone social would say next, and the logical thing that came to their mind was to share their reason. “I want to make my parents proud too. It’s kinda why I work so hard. Also, money.” they shrugged.
“Blue, yes, that’s a nice color!” they smiled. “Why?” What’s a better way to make small talk, than to ask a deep question that will tell you more about the person? Although, Anang couldn’t understand how a favorite color could say anything, but there must’ve been a reason behind the mundane questions asked during small talk. “Blue reminds me of the pool of my tears during exams. It’s a love-hate relationship.” they added, chuckling.
Talking to Emeka wasn’t as bad they thought it would be, and they’ve already gotten comfortable enough to make jokes. I should talk more often. – they thought, as they finally started eating after sitting in the cafeteria for like 5 minutes.
“I’m not lonely, I dont’ need any more friends so you don’t need to start begging. Also I don’t need therapy … You see what I need is for you to dissapear and stop giving me trouble. Since murder isn’t a really good way to get rid of you, because you’re not worth jail time, I’m gonna make you really embarrased.” I chuckled as I turned my beauty spot on. Now he’ll like me, maybe even be in love with me, every single time he sees me. “So … how about that lunch?” I realised instead of making him only get me lunch, I could also make him trust me and spill about his family. Finally I’ll learn about those losers. “If you get me the whole pizza, we can share it on the benches.” I said. I knew he was hungry, and now he liked me because of my beauty spot. This is going to be devilishly hilarious.
“I could, you know, take a picture.” Lum glared at her as she saw the girl fiddle with her phone. "You wouldn’t dare"If she dared to take any pictures, Lum would trap her in a web and hide her in a closet forever. She hated people taking pictures of her, sure she was a big spider but come on haven’t you ever seen a giant spider before?
"Yeah, I mean, I’d kill to have green eyes. And you’re the first spider who doesn’t look… scary?” Lum blushed, she had always thought brown eyes was the best eye color- growing up with a sister who was favored and had brown eyes. No Lum didn’t hate Rose per say but the attention she got could get annoying. Lum looked at rose who was looking boredly at her food,
“Thanks” she said as she sucked on her food.
“That’s a nice reason!” Emeka smiled, he had spent his whole life trying to make his father proud. Emeka didn’t really have a ‘childhood’ as much of it was spent on the one thing he wanted to do. “I want to make my parents proud too. It’s kinda why I work so hard. Also, money.” Emeka never had to work for money, his father being a god and everything, he never needed money. But Emeka could respect Anang, the way they worked hard to make their parents happy. That was something he could respect “I hope your bring them honor” He smiled, “But I’m sure you already do” He tried complimenting.
“Blue, yes, that’s a nice color!” Emeka nodded, “Why?” Anang asked. Emeka pursed his lips, “Well, the ocean is blue and I’ve always thought the seas and ocean represented freedom, justice and strength. And so blue became a color I favor, also because of the reason I lived so long in the skies with my father” Emeka revealed. “Blue reminds me of the pool of my tears during exams. It’s a love-hate relationship.” Emeka chuckled.
All of a sudden, Elias felt the urge to… Smile at the girl? But it wasn’t his arrogant smile, rather, a genuine smile that radiated happiness. It’s as if all negative feelings faded, and whatever happened with her before was all fuzzy. “Yeah, I’ll go get you a pizza, no worries.” he replied, smiling. “You don’t need to pay me anything, I can afford it.” he added.
As he walked over to order the pizza, there was one thing on his mind. Even if this girl was a good friend of his, he couldn’t for the life of him remember her name. It was starting to worry him, but he didn’t feel safe enough to tell anyone. Well, anyone but the girl. Speaking of, he should really ask her name, either that or calling her things like “girl”, “sis” or “bestie”. But that didn’t fit his bad boy wannabe style, and calling her “babe” was too weird.
Then, pizza in hand, he started walking towards his friend. Well, technically his enemy, but it’s not like he knew that. “Hey, bro. I got the pizza.” He then placed it on the nearest table, gesturing to her to sit down with him.
As soon as the boy returned with the pizza and said “Hey, bro. I got the pizza.” I smiled because I knew he was only nice because of my power so I ruffled his hair and said “Aww, thanks, babyboy.” I smiled like I was talking to a child because that’s what it felt like talking to him “So, who wants to share this pizza with your best friend Aoife?” I said with a baby tone. “No, seriously, let’s go eat this somewhere people won’t see us, do you know where that could be?”
Anang couldn’t help but blush at the compliment. They still weren’t used to receiving compliments, no matter how many they’ve gotten. “Thank you! I’m sure your dad is proud of you too.” they smiled.
Well, they didn’t expect such a detailed answered for his favorite color. Not that it was a bad thing, they just couldn’t think of a way to respond. Anang could only think of a joke reason, but Emeka seemed pretty serious. So, they just nodded along to what he said, awkwardly smiling. “That’s a great reason!” they replied.
To avoid things getting awkward, they had to continue the conversation somehow. “So…” they started. Don’t ask him his favorite number. Don’t ask. That’s even worse than favorite color. Don’t ask. Dont-
“What’s your number?” they asked, taking a few seconds to realize what they’d just asked. “I-I mean! Favorite! What’s your favorite… Dog.”
Elias pushed her hand away. “Don’t do that! You know I hate it, idiot.” he replied. But once he took time to think about it, he doubted that she knew that at all. Because, apart from knowing that they’re friends, he didn’t know anything about this girl. He was starting to believe that he has some form of memory issues, but for some reason he could remember everything else.
“Yeah, we can go behind the school. I doubt anyone comes there apart from drug dealers or whatever.” he got up from his seat. “Not like they’d notice. Besides, I have something to speak to you about. Come on.” he gestured to her to follow him, as he turned to leave.
What was more confusing, was that he knew he was new to the school. He didn’t know any places he could go to, he was just guessing. And if he were new, then how did he become such good friends with this girl, if he didn’t know before he got here? A lot didn’t add up, and it made him even more anxious. Not that he’d show it, of course.
“Mochi_Madness? That’s a cute nickname, Vixy.” Then I realised I called the nickname she chose cool, but then said the nickname I made for her, which she probably hates now. Maybe calling herself Mochi_Madness was a hint for me. “Hey, Hanako, if you hate your nickname and preffer me to call you Mochi rather than Vixy, just say so okay. I don’t mind it.” I smiled. “Come on, let me add you. Make sure to add me back, I’m weedkiller.”
Hanako smiled when Lav called the nickname cute. “Thanks, I wanted something with alliteration. It sounds better.” She shrugged after her asked if she didn’t like the name he came up with for her. “I really don’t mind either. Vixen was a clever idea. I am a fox, after all.” Hanako let out a small giggle when he said his username. “It’s good to know you’re feeling more comfortable with your powers.” @LunaticLeviTheSecond - Lav
Yep
“Thank you! I’m sure your dad is proud of you too.” Emeka froze a little, before he looked up at Anang and nodded. He hoped he was, that would remove a huge load off his shoulders.
“That’s a great reason!” Heat rose to Emeka’s cheeks and he looked at the pizza, ‘wow the pizza looked really good right now’ he thought. “So any other favorite color?” Emeka ask trying to keep up the conversation, he wasn’t so good at talking with people. But who could blame him? Hello he lived all his life isolated with his father in the skies and his only source of communication with the human world was through the internet. Where he would just watch and nod.
“What’s your number?” Emeka opened his mouth about to answer when Anang said when he added "“I-I mean! Favorite! What’s your favorite… Dog.” Emaka frowned in confusion, “What’s a dog?”
Star smirked softly to herself. Riiiight, we couldn’t communicate a monkey, that would be absurd. Star took another bite of her peach when the girl introduced herself. “Oh, nice to meet you Devi, I’m Star.” Hmmm, do we feel bad about pulling this scam on yet another person? Nah! “So, a shapeshifter, huh? What’s that like?”
