“Fantastic. I apologize if I’m interrupting your lunch, I value your time.” The girl sounded bored again, causing Eudora to feel a bit insecure. Was she being boring? She really was doing her best to make this girl her friend…but she didn’t have much practice at that. She wanted to say something else-to try to help the conversation-perhaps tell her about Alya or more about the dance. But she had already turned to face Ms. Lim, saying, “I’ll see you at lunch, then.” Eudora nodded, curls bouncing. She didn’t feel offended-they were supposed to be paying attention, anyways. Besides, they could always have more of a conversation at lunch, where they wouldn’t get in trouble.

The scarecrow-girl stared at her with brown scarecrow-eyes as she checked her in the small compact-made of real gold and encrusted with real rubies. Lorelai’s eyes-lined with black liner-flicked to Peckerhead, her full lips twisting into smug smile as she snapped it closed. Though she had been insecure about her ‘silly’ expression, she felt more confident as she pocketed the tiny mirror that was worth pennies to her. “You never stopped looking beautiful, at least to me, it was just that expression that looked silly.” She said, in between giggles. Lorelai nodded. “Of course.” She agreed, making sure her face did not contort to that expression-and would never again. She did not say thank you, considering this a fact.

She picked at a stray piece of straw poking out from her glove, “They…uh…threaten me. If it weren’t for my brave daddy, then they would burn me, strike me, and pull me apart, littering my straw across all of Oz.” Lorelai’s eyes widened slightly-that got dark quickly. She had assumed it was just teasing-which was still bad… but this was murderous. And, if her dad was the one always protecting her… well, it could explain why she was so sheltered. Lorelai folded her arms on her desk, leaning in. “And what do you do when those -ssholes say that?” She asked, feeling a bit angry these boys existed.

She shook her head. “Not really. I’d nurture any kind of bird myself, even a hissing one, to help it recover and fly off to be free.” Lorelai just stared, though she was not as surprised by such answers anymore. She looked a bit dreamy as she talked about flight. “Yeah, it is.” Lorelai bragged, implying she had flown before. “But there’s more fun things out there.” The way she said this, it was like she was hinting at something. Though the girl would probably have no idea what. “Well. Some people, who aren’t you, want to give people they dislike hissing birds.” Lorelai finished.

Tristan "Strawberry" Westergaard

| Town || Porcelain |

She was doing her classic grumpy look, to which Tristan only responded with a laugh and for the first time, he realized how odd they must have looked together. Here was this girl wearing all black and scowling next to a Prince in white, with the biggest smirk on his idiotic face. He placed his hands over his heart with a mock look of disappointment. “Silver, I’m crushed. Ruining dreams over here,” he shrugged and dropped his hands, looking at where they were going. “True, but maybe it’s time for a change.” He took a quick glance at Porcelain, then focused on a tree. It looked like a… tree. That’s how much science he knew.

He was amazed that so much child could hide in an almost adult. “I-” anger was imminent on his usually happy face. He bit his cheek and looked away, almost immediately wincing in pain as he felt his teeth break the skin. “Sh*t,” he muttered quickly. Well, he wasn’t angry anymore at least, just in pain. He could taste the blood in his mouth, reminding him of the fist-fighting match he had gotten in with Isaiah. He didn’t look like much, but wow could that kid hit a strong punch.

She seemed disconcerted. Or at least distracted, maybe. He wasn’t sure. Didn’t super care either. He had just gotten a yes. And while he had gotten a yes from her before, this one wasn’t masked with a dare. “Great, maybe you could choose the location this time,” he was somewhat pushing her. Not too much, though. At least he didn’t think so. He started laughing, nodding his head in laughter at her response. He was impressed that she didn’t start blushing or hitting him in embarrassment. “Okay, okay, I get it. You don’t like talking about it.” He bit his lip, “You don’t know that,” though even he knew the chances were high. He was happy at the sound of brunch. Just because he hadn’t retained all the pompous Prince traits, brunch definitely was one. He caught up to her and asked aloud, “Do you actually know where you’re going or are you just that hungry?”

Blue noticed the smile across Laurie’s face again. He smiled a lot. That meant he was nice. What also proved he was nice was how kindly he spoke of Isaiah, his roommate and then asked Blue about his.
“I… My roommate,” Blue repeated in a bit of a dither. He looked back into his memory at the information booklet he was given, which included things such as classes, school history, then information on his dorm, etc. “Kellan Godmother is the name of my dormmate. I do not know him. He left before me this morning and wasn’t in the the room before I went to bed last night.” Though it had been early and no one would have been planning to sleep that early. “It would be good if my roommate is organised too. I don’t like mess. Not too much mess. Maybe a little mess.”
When Laurie said he wanted to give Blue something to make him smile, Blue only shook his head again. “But it’s not my birthday. I don’t deserve gifts. I haven’t earned it. I have only known you for-” He looked at his watch on his left hand. “-13 minutes and 26 seconds.”

The Fennec Fox a.k.a Robin White, who had been sitting upright on the desktop on their hind-legs, listening intently to the teacher, Ms Rossum, had changed their position. After 10 minutes of listening and the inability to take notes, Robin the fox lay down on their furry stomach. Their long brush of a tail curled around them and their front paws seated crossed on top of one another.
The teacher mentioned reading a chapter along with doing extra work sheets, Robin let out a sigh, which in their current body sound more a little fox-yawn. Robin turned their head to the dance flyer on the desk beside and caught sight of the boy who had sat in their seat. Getting up, Robin flicked their tail and perched themselves on the edge of the desk in front of the boy who had stolen their seat.

“How so?” It was a question-though it didn’t sound much like one. Instead, it sounded like a sentence-one spoken very boredly. “Do the liv-Do people usually prefer shorter conversations and answers too?” Caspian did not seem to notice the change in wording-they were never nitpicky with that sort of thing-how could they be when they misspoke and stammered so often? “Some of them.” Caspian answered, continuing to look down. “I don’t mind, as long as I’m not the one doing the talking and they aren’t… negative.” By negative, they meant angry, disappointed, or upset. But they wanted to sum it up on one word. They then realized they should probably figure out what kind of conversationalist Syrus was. “Which do you prefer?” They asked, still not meeting his eyes.

“You do?” He asked. Caspian nodded slightly and miserably. They were preparing to begin listing the reasons they did when… “Then, this is a common feeling for people? I do not understand what you could hate about yourself, I think you are a kind person who is very knowledgeable to talk with.” Caspian’s bright blue eyes widened, and finally met Syrus’s dark ones. And then, there it was. A smile-though not a large one, nor one that showed teeth-appeared on their face. It was a pretty smile, that came with dimples, shining eyes, and even a faint pink across freckled cheeks. No one, other than Caspian’s mother had ever said such a thing to them. Caspian was not “nice”, she was “shy” and “antisocial”. Neither were they knowledgeable, as they never spoke up in classes. As Caspian didn’t look at Syrus’s face much-they were noticing things for the first time. The sharp jawline, symmetrical hairline, and features, that at first, had intimidated Caspian…but now seemed warm-at least lukewarm. This was a small shift, but a shift indeed. “You…do?” They breathed this hopefully-not wanting Syrus to take it back. Then, they remembered that Syrus had said ‘common’. Had he…ever worried like Caspian had? “Why?” They voiced aloud, still staring at him.

A poster was telepathically guided to Caspian’s desk as well as Syrus’s. They looked at it nervously, then sighed lightly, slouching. It was not that Caspian had been to a dance. In fact, they’d been to many. However, these were Pixie Hollow Festivals-and their attendance was mandatory. But, it had never been an enjoyable time. And…no one had ever asked Caspian to an event, or danced with them. It was likely no one would this time either, and it was also likely Caspian wouldn’t even go. They wouldn’t enjoy it, and it would be a waste of gold.

He laughed at her grouchiness-which only turned her expression even darker. What an annoying laugh. “You sound like a donkey.” She told him, to knock him down a few pegs. For fun, she made a dopey face-“Hee-haw, Hee-haw!” She mocked, just to be meaner. Though, now she sounded funny. Honestly, perhaps Tristan was killing her vibe. A laughing, fresh-faced boy in white, next to a bony, raccoon-esque girl in all black. Oh, well. He clutched his hands to his heart, mocking disappointment-she would’ve preferred the real thing. “Silver, I’m crushed. Ruining dreams over here.” She rolled her eyes, smirking. “Just doing my job.” She retorted, actually cracking a joke. He looked at a tree, while suggesting it was time to change his hair color. She stared at the same tree-what was so special about it? It was just a boring tree. While his attention was diverted, she mumbled quietly-“I make fun of it, but strawberries aren’t that bad.”

“I-I-” He looked genuinely angry, and Porcelain prepared for the next comeback, which would probably be about hygiene. Though then he looked away suddenly, cursing as he did so. “What?” She asked, sounding a bit more genuine than annoyed. That was a bit sudden… not even a snappy retort or anything.

She had said ‘yes’. So far, she wasn’t quite regretting it, though she was stunned she had. “Great, maybe you could choose the location this time.” He suggested. She scowled-upset she had to do everything, even when he was the one who had asked her out. “Sure,” she replied nonchalantly. She knew she’d have to pick somewhere free, as he probably expected her to pay too. Still, it wasn’t like she didn’t have an ounce of creativity. He laughed as she did. “Okay, okay, I get it. You don’t like talking about it.” He bit his lip-was he trying to be sexy, or awkward? She couldn’t tell. “Why would I reveal where I hide my victims?” Was the retort. “You don’t know that.” She turned around. “I guess not. But it’s really, reeeally, reeeeeeeeally likely.” She said, giving him a weak, fake smile. He did catch up to her as she stomped off towards brunch. “Do you actually know where you’re going, or are you just that hungry?” “Can’t it be both?” She asked, as she halted near a restaurant called “The Brunch Brothers”. She rolled her eyes at the name. “This?”

Rory finalized name plat
Rory looked at the flyer looking for the date of the dance and realized it was still a ways a way. He didn’t mind that but was surprised that they seemed to hands stuff out so early to the students. Rory Smiled widely when Kellan confirmed he was going but Rory kept hoping that it would be with him. Rory was surprised with the answer Kellan gave him about running for royalty but supposed it made sense. Kellan seemed like he would have been perfect to be royalty so it was shocking that he had never even run before. “Well if you run Ill run too Kellan we can run together and that way we at least know one person will vote for each of us.” Rory smiled at his idea but still hoped this would help him make at leas t a few friends. “I can’t bake or cook…” Rory mumbled at the mention of treats. “I am horrible at it…” He admitted a little embarrassed seeing as who his mother was and how she was known for her baking skills at least in part.

Brooks first name
Brooke knew that they had messed up the second that they had kissed Colm. Brooks’s brain quickly went on the defensive and they shut down almost imediently. Brooks had never been treated they way that Colm treated them and had never had a safe relationship with anyone especially after their mother’s death so Brooks didn’t understand romance that wasn’t in the form of verbal or physical abuse. And the only relationship Brooks had been in they had been expected to move fast and following what they other had told them not only because Brooks was never around for long but also because that is what they always wanted. Brooks had been testing the waters with Colm but not romantically just in comfort and they didn’t know why their brain had decided to kiss him but Brooks regretted it nearly as soon as it happened. Brooks was trying not to shut down completely they were on the verge of crying and their body was shaking slightly all muscles tense and ready to bolt off running at any second. “Im sorry…” Is all Brooks could manage even before Colm spoke but it was hardly even audible and Brooks quickly hid their face in their legs. They were scared. Brooks recognized Colm was lecturing them and they felt even worse. They were certain they had messed up enough that they lost the only friend they had and would now go back to the angered defense they had known before. Brooks took a deep breath every time they heard Colm say friend they were still panicking and grabbed their bag pulling it close they were still ready to run the second Colm gave them a reason to. The second Colm raised his hand or his voice. That never came though and that did not bring Brooks the piece it should have. Brooks took a deep breath they were still shutting down. “You aren’t mad?” They asked softly still hiding their face in their legs.

Laurie name
Laurie watched Blue stumble a little over who his roommate was and then felt bad for asking about it. Laurie didn’t like watching Blue struggle to remember who it was, Laurie nodded when he heard who it was though. “I know Kellan not well but he was here last year and we talked a few times. I don’t think based of the impression I got you will have much issue with mess but he does have a pet I believe. I think its a pig.” Laurie said as he thought about what little information he knew about Kellan. “He is pretty nice in general from what I know. Kind of a flirt but not a bad guy.” Laurie wanted to reassure Blue. “And Blue if it turns out that it doesn’t work out for you, you just tell me and I will find you room to stay with Isaiah and I ok.” Laurie meant this even though he would probably have to ask Isaiah if this was ok if it came down to Blue needing to stay with them. “Blue its just school supplies that I think you would like and my phone number incase you need anything.” Laurie admitted as Blue told him no gifts.

OLIVE MCCANN

The boy didn’t seem able to speak properly, earning a hint of a scowl from Olive. Trust me to find the mute human. Jesus I just hope he has a nice squeal. As long as he was able to scream. A hint ofa smile replaced the scowl as Olive daydreamed about it. It had been way too long since she did this. Alice didn’t like it, so Olive never did it back home.
The boy didn’t seem to want to exert too much pressure on Olive, frustrating her quickly. I’m stronger than I look. In the end, Olive half pulled him the rest of the way to his feet, noting that his physical impairment seemed to be causing him a large amount of pain. Too bad, so sad.
Once the boy was securely standing on his own - well not completely but close enough - Olive nodded decisively before beginning to walk, slowly to account for the boy’s apparent newness to his situation, down the corridors towards the less occupied area of the school.
She glanced over her shoulder a few times as she walked, beckoning as friendlily as she could to the boy to make sure he followed.

COLM MCCANN

“Im sorry…”
Colm leaned forwards slightly, raking a hand through their hair.
“You aren’t mad?”
Ok, cards were still smoldering, still waiting for a spark, but Colm could see them now. They were on the table and he was adjusting. Thing was, the stakes were higher than they’d ever been before, and Colm wasn’t willing to lose.
“No, I’m not mad.” They responded gently, giving Brooks a small smile. “You’ve surprised me, is all. I’m good at reading people, but even I didn’t expect… it.” He didn’t want to call it a ‘that’, and risk alienating Brooks to him.
“Okay,” Colm puffed out his cheeks, crossing his arms and resting them on his knees. “Can I ask why?” He added, watching Brooks carefully. As much as he wanted to wrap them in a hug, their reaction was a clear indicator that that would only freak them out further. So, for now, he would have to wait for them to make the moves. It was Brooks’ turn in the game, and their new cards were unreadable.

Brooks was till shaking but the we received that Colm wasn’t yelling, wasn’t mad. Brooks looked up slightly and tried to make eye contact but his eyes darted away from Colm quickly. “I don’t know its dumb. My brain was like they are nice to you they want you. I know you don’t and…Ahh” Brooks sighed at they leaned their head back flustered the words weren’t coming out right. “Im just sorry about the whole thing. And I should probably go. You probably don’t want to see me again and I get that.” Brooks just kept on going in a mumbled tone. They were trying not to cry they knew they crossed a line but they didn’t understand why their brain had been so animate about doing it when they knew nearly before it happened that it would end badly. That they would push away Colm… Thats why their brain wanted them to do it. It was wired to push people away even if it had to betray them and go to drastic lengths to do just that… push Colm away.

~~~ image~~~ Dormitory | Jakob
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━★━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Just a few minutes ago, César would have sworn with absolute certainty that there was nothing more tiring than a Jakob in his normal state. He would have been wrong: there was worse. There was an injured Jakob that went from whining to moving when he was trying to catch his shoulder (why, wondered César, just why?) to shaking, all while still being cocky.
Not to mention the fact that the ghost of a smirk that flashed across the other student’s lips from time to time was suspicious. César’s eyes narrowed as he took in Jakob’s overall form, pausing as he placed a foot on one of the steps. “Well, visibly the pain is not making you any less exhausting,” he declared, poised. “And don’t shake so much; you’ll fall down again.”
César gave an almost imperceptible nod at that last statement, returning Jakob’s puckish grin with a judgmental stare. Although he could feel the panic oozing out of his skin, his cheeks were still pale from seeing the way the other student had dropped backwards into the stairs. It was one thing to see it in a comedic cartoon; it was another entirely to have it happen right before your eyes, and hear the tumble and slam of a body that fell at an unpredictable angle.
Sighing, he slowly drifted up the stairs and slipped his hand back into the wool mitten. “I thought you knew all about Denmark,” he lightened a little at Jakob’s question, a small, contemptuous smile gracing his lips. For a moment, César attempted to mimick the other student’s exaggerated accent, only to wrinkle his nose about half a second into it as if it were the most ridiculous thing he’d heard -even though it hadn’t been that bad. “If you want to know what it means, learn the language,” he said instead, dismissing the question as they crossed the dormitory to Room 188.
Flying the door open, César floated into the flat, frowning at the piles of books -and particularly at the two aggressive posters- that had been placed in the first room. He lead Jakob towards the kitchen counter and motioned for him to sit down with a faint movement of the head. “Well?” he said expectantly, placing a hand on his hip. “Jacket off. Chop chop, Jakoblet.
“Well, if you run, I’ll run too, Kellan,we can run together, and they way, we at least know one person will vote for each of us.” Rory decided, smiling. Though some might now view Rory as competition, Kellan had no ounce of jealousy as his eyes crinkled with happiness and he beamed at Rory, letting out a shrill squeal, grabbing the attention of many peers-and again, the elegant Sapphire Lim. This would be really fun, and hopefully help Rory with his confidence. And, if they did end up being dates to the dance, then if one of them won, the other would automatically become royalty as well. “Ohmygosh, okay!! That will be so much fun!!!” He bounced up and down in his seat. "We can definitely help each other out. It will be iconic." He then agreed, still quite enthusiastic. “I can’t bake or cook.” Rory sounded less happy then, mumbling. “I am horrible at it…” He seemed a bit embarrassed-but Kellan didn’t think less of him, especially since… “Oh, same here, girl, but it’s fineee, we got this!” He patted Rory’s shoulder sympathetically. “I mean, how hard can it be to follow a recipe?” He waved the thought away dismissively, with a flick of his wrist (idk how to describe it but it’s the gay hand, y’know).
Elliot, eventually able to put down flyer, tried to cool his giddiness. He wiggled his fingers, cracking the joints and looked up. “Oh my gosh!” Elliot almost fell back on his chair. He looked around seeing some people giggling others glaring at his scene. Elliot looked at the small animal again. Then, much quieter he again said, “Oh my gosh. Aren’t you the cutest thing I’d ever seen.” Elliot turned his head looking at this fluff of a creature. “How did you get in hear? Are you a pet? Oh no, I’m sorry are you a student? Wait can you talk? Or are a teacher?” Elliot said, slurring most of his words together. Elliot paused, realizing he was probably talking the things head off. “Sorry,” He started rubbing his neck, “you don’t have to answer any of that, if you can even talk, sorry if this is coming out as word vomit again.” Elliot squeezed his eyes shut for a second. Opening them with a a thin layer of blush now.
The girl pulled Ewan up, surprising him a little. He sat back on his crutches, and waited for the girl to say something or make a move. He watched as she nodded, than started down the corridors. He waited before moving a single inch, trying to read her. She seemed fine, she was even nice enough to walk slower for him. She looked back again, teasing his judgment skills. And so he started forward. He tried to match her aura but couldn’t quite match it, probably because my emotions are all over the place Ewan told himself. Ewan made sure to say at least six inches from the girl until he was able to read her. Offering that, he manged the words, “I am Ewan.”
César looked quite displeased that the tumble had not rendered Jakob unconscious-or at least mute. His blue eyes narrowed as he stared at the figure, still writhing on the shiny wooden floor. As he put one foot on the stairs, as if intending to walk up them, he paused, turning to Jakob to give his ‘verdict’. “Well, visibly the pain is not making you any less exhausting.” said César, seeming to voice his thoughts aloud. Though offensive, it was spoken with poise. Jakob scowled up at him, placing his hands behind him, and trying to prop himself up. “Wow, no mercy, huh?” He felt vulnerable, lying on the ground, with César so far above him. He gritted his teeth as he wobbled to his feet. “And don’t shake so much ; you’ll fall down again.” Advice-but it sounded more like a taunt. He was looking at the freckled boy in a very judgmental way-he really did have no empathy for someone who had such an injured shoulder. Unless… César could see right through his act. Jakob scoffed lightly, though smiling. “Thanks for the advice, doc.” He said, trotting after César, though not forgetting to let his shoulder stay limp.
The only sign that perhaps César was not suspicious of Jakob was the coldness in his cheeks-they were not their usual color-instead the color of powdered milk. Jakob did not feel guilty if this was the case-instead, his grassy eyes gleamed with secret glee that this might work after all. He really was a bit sore from the fall-so he told himself César deserved another prank. He slipped his finger back into the sky-colored wool. “I thought you knew all about Denmark.” A small smile graced his lips as he said this, and at first, he exaggerated the Danish accent like “Jakoblet” had, but then wrinkled his nose, as if doing so was too horrible and childish. “I do!” Jakob protested immediately, speaking in the ridiculous accent. He didn’t know Danish, though. “Maybe I will, Dusty,” He teased Danish-ly, staying on César’s tail as they headed into his dorm room.
Jakob made himself at home very quickly, taking off his shoes at the front door and letting his head swivel from side to side as he checked out the dorm room. He noticed some posters of very beautiful men, and wondered if they were César’s. “Are those yours?” He asked, a goofy look on his face, like he was trying to press down a guffaw-which he was. He lollygagged after César, taking time to look around like a snoop. When he finally strolled into the kitchen, César was waiting impatiently, hand on his hip. “Well? Jacket off. Chop chop, Jakoblet.” Jakob smiled evilly at him-“Wow, impatient, are we?” He asked, slowly shrugging off his jacket, and folding it over the chair before sitting down.
COLM MCCANN
Colm listened carefully, their head tilted slightly as their thoughts ran a mile a minute. Top priority was to not freak Brooks out too much, they had done more than enough of that to themselves.
“Like I said,” Colm replied gently. “In the future, maybe something like that can happen. I just like to take things slow, is all.” Colm shrugged, giving Brooks a smile as he did so. May as well be as nice as possible, after all.
“Im just sorry about the whole thing. And I should probably go. You probably don’t want to see me again and I get that.”
Scoffing slightly, Colm shook his head. “Alright, slow down. Your thoughts are probably going faster than mine and that’s good for no one.” He began, shrugging slightly. “You made a mistake is all. It wasn’t even a huge mistake, just a clash of emotions.” He explained gently tilting his head the other way to try and figure out what the kid was thinking.
“I’m not like the people who hurt you in the past.” Colm added, knowing the statement was a gamble but more than ready to take it. “You don’t have to worry about making mistakes with me.”
OLIVE MCCANN
Glad to see that the boy was following her, Olive kept walking, slowly enough that he could keep pace. This is one of the few times I’m glad of that attractive aura. Olive thought to herself with a small smile. A gift from her parents, whomever they may be, was that majority of people felt some sort of pull when confronted with Olive. Herself, she considered it more of a curse, especially as majority of the attention was very unwanted.
“I am Ewan.”
“He speaks,” Olive said, chuckling to herself. Play nice. Not much further now. “I’m Olive. Nice to meet you,” She added, flashing a grin over her shoulder. He didn’t allow himself to get too close to her, unfortunately. No matter, judging from his crutches he wouldn’t be running very fast any time soon.
Moments later, Olive entered an unused classroom. Even better, the door was heavy, and didn’t have any windows. She pushed the door open, standing in the doorway while she waited for Ewan to enter first.
“It’s quieter in here,” Olive explained, shrugging. “Good enough place for you to calm down and all.” Poor, poor Ewan.
Galarza’s eyes widened as she noticed the animal sitting next to the boy she had just yelled at. Animals. She did not like them. They were dirty-even dirtier than the human students. This animal was furry with shiny black eyes and pointy ears-a fennec fox. Most found this animal adorable, however, all Galarza saw in it was it’s laziness as well as the…waste it could produce in the classroom. She scowled as she looked down at the animal. “I am not sure how you got in here, but at least you are on time.” She snapped. “You will be sorry if you produce any sort of waste in my classroom.” After humiliating the fox, she turned to the blabbermouth-“Did I not tell you to be quiet and wipe that smile off of your face?”
Brooks first name
Brooks couldn’t concentrate their mind was running million miles a minute and they were overwhelmed by The Who situation that they had made. Brooks stood grading their guitar and holing it close with their bag held to their chest. The panic rose in their chest as Colm talked. Every instinct was telling them to run but regardless they stayed rooted to the spot. Colm’s smile seemed forced and that cause Brooks to take a step back from him. “Colm I don’t know I just like made some mistake today…” They mumbled as they looked at their feet and tried to calm themself down. Brooks looked up when Colm told them to slow down. Did this mean he didn’t want them to leave that he didn’t want them out of his life? “I just don’t know what I was thinking and I acted out of I guess instinct maybe…” Brooks trailed off a little. Brooks felt like they were in the wrong so much and like they were going to throw up. Like in any second Colm would snap and prove that this was all just a false sense of security. “You say that and I want to believe you but I don’t know how. Especially after I did what I just did.” Brooks mumbled as they tried to calm down Colm’s next words did calm them slightly.
Empty Classroom, Olive
Good enough place for you to calm down and all.” She said, standing in the doorway. Ewan hesitant he did need to calm his nerves, but he just couldn’t help but feel queasy at the fact that he couldn’t read her. He looked between Olive and the door frame. He hobbled though the door turning to the girl once he was about four feet in. He then felt the his anxiety rise, he looked around the dark room, his legs trembling. Calm down Ewan, you can’t afford to turn back into your form right now. Ewan took a deep breathe and held his crutches tighter “Sorry, I’m so nervous.” Ewan barely squeaked
COLM MCCANN
“Colm I don’t know I just like made some mistake today…”
“And?” Colm chuckled slightly, leaning back a bit. As much as he wanted to stand up and again wrap Brooks in a hug, now just didn’t feel like a good time. They were still too fragile. “We all make mistakes, and I’m a pretty good forgiver. Olive used to eat people, and I love her all the same. A misguided kiss is nothing more than that: a kiss. It was misguided, but there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s done, and all there’s to do now is accept that and… move on I guess? I don’t want you to go, and I truly hope that you don’t feel that you have to, because you don’t.”
Remembering his decision to try not to ramble, Colm stopped there, smiling sheepishly up at Brooks. They did like them, and maybe that fondness could grow to something more in time. Colm just hoped that Brooks allowed them that time.
“You say that and I want to believe you but I don’t know how. Especially after I did what I just did.”
“What you just did was act on an emotion.” Colm replied simply, pulling his legs underneath him so that he was now crouching, not quite ready to stand but preparing to if the time proved itself to be right. “We all have emotions, and we all react to them from time to time. So what if your reaction wasn’t quite appropriate? I have no qualms with forgiving that, in fact I already have.” He finished, smiling.
OLIVE MCCANN
Olive flicked the lights on as Ewan accepted her invitation into the room, disguising her excitement as best she could. Turning, Olive could clearly see how the boy was already terrified. Definitely a squealer.
“Sorry, I’m so nervous.”
Haha and NOW
“Aw, don’t be,” Olive replied, smiling brightly. “There’s no one in here but me and you.” Another bright smile flashed at Ewan. Olive began walking, resisting the urge to skip, around Ewan; big large circles like a hawk stalking its prey. As she walked, she could feel her tail unravel from her leg in excitement, swooshing in long, slow strokes behind her.
“Now tell me,” Olive spoke, her face practically shining with her grin, “Do you like animals, Ewan? What would be your favourite one?”
Empty Classroom, Olive + you?
Ewan turned every time Olive did, maybe this is how she is normally, maybe she’s also nervous. No, I don’t feel her nervousness.Do you like animals, Ewan?" Despite her pacing, that seemed like a strange question. “I suppose it would be strange if I didn’t.” Once the words came out, Ewan slowly felt more confident. "What would be your favourite one?” Ewan though for a second, “A chipmunk…” Ewan said slowly, trailing his words. He started slowing, every time she took a step. Eventually he couldn’t keep pivoting, of course unless he wanted to fall and have her come ‘rescue’ him… Again. He looked at her, finally able to read her better, “umm, do you like animals?”
