@Ouijaloveletters I noticed you’ve been trying to give Aithne a scottish accent
I can give you tips since I’ve written scottish accents before (@anon41771169 love you and our fanfics~) and I can give you some tips.
That first one and second one danke danke so much for your heard work. I adore you so much
sorry forogot not allowed to ORP on the official thread
she says Aithne is supposed to be irish, but theres a bit of scottish and welsh in there too considering she also knows gaelic and scottish and welsh are also gaelic languages.
I’m not good with languages. I’m giving it my best shot.
Irish. Oops. I don’t know what I’m doing
Will 'o wisps are scottish…
Where did Aithne become Irish
Ehehe…um, oops
Oh god. It said they were Irish! Damnit
I sound like an idiot. At least the accent was right…sorta
Some examples and tips
Scottish accent: Ye alright there? Ye sound like yer outta’ breath!" I exclaimed, placing my hand on his shoulder. “Jus’ calm down, yer fine.”
One: Scottish Translation: “Oh, I’m so sorry about that. I’m an (1)ejit. A got 'em mixed up.”
Two: This never happens with actual bilingual characters where they switch to another language of one word of the sentence.
Oh my god, Brave is Scottish…well, I saw brave, s o I’m doing something right…now I need to look up Scottish sland instead of Irish.
Oh, thank you.
You really don’t lol.
- Replace “I” with A
- Replace “you” with ye
- Replace “your” with yer
and I’ll think up of more later probably…
As for writing bilingual characters
Will definitely do research. I probably just offended Scottish and Irish people everywhere…and I have Irish heritage…
So, Instead of “I did this, A did this?”
Yes.
Ok thanks so much. As you can tell, I’m completely new to this. I’m just glad I figured it out now before I seriously offended someone
Consider this somewhere where you can make mistakes and we won’t judge you for it ^^ Instead we’ll try our best to help you out!
