I’m trying to remember the Naruto opening I like

Is it the one I posted? Or is it Fighting Dreamers (Go, by Flow) :eyes:

The one I posted is the best, so :eyes:

no not the debate :sob:

How do you debate a personal preference though?

I didn’t say it’s just my favourite. You can debate the objective qualities of an anime opening, there are factors that go into their quality :eyes:

If you’re interested, animation, direction, storytelling, lyrical resonance, genre and style dissonance/harmony, foreshadowing, imagery and - of course - clever integration of the credits into the shot composition. Bonus points if the credits are affected by things on screen :eyes:

… I like pedantically gushing about anime intros because they can be sooooo good

Do you like the anime openings where it just shows all the characters walking down different streets looking sad/confused?

Depends. D’you mean like Tokyo Ghoul’s Unravel? Because before the explosive and colourful chorus it’s just people standing around looking sad.

Or is it :eyes:

No, it’s not. They’re standing around looking sad, but you can see their ghoul sides reflected on surfaces behind them - cast over the titular city itself to show the anime’s main theme of duality and the barrier that stands between who we are versus who we present ourselves to be. The barrier is first cracked by kaneki realising his world isn’t as simple as he first thought, then completely shattered by the purple haired woman of whom I have forgotten her name when the chorus drops. It’s ingenius and actually the best part of the whole series

Best anime ending though

Thing is, as much as I love unravel (and tokyo ghoul) it also reminds me of my ex and old friend from high school because before I had seen the anime people used to say that my ex and my friend were like Touka and Kaneki. So when I did see it I was like oh okay then

So in the bit of the opening where masked kaneki is back to back with normal kaneki I always do a bitter grumble :slightly_smiling_face:.

It’s a rad opening though but I don’t sing it before reading the manga or do I.

I love all the colours in it and the way it shows the ghoul sides of them all. Plus the sadness, I love the sadness.

if there was a story about my life, it would be…a tragedy

Yesss, thank you. I don’t really enjoy Tokyo Ghoul’s story or characters or anything but the manga has gorgeous art and the anime had some really great production value, the opening a big part of that.

That’s why the first one I posted is what I personally think is the best animeopening ever made :eyes: Again by Yui is my personal favourite ever, always makes me cry, but 99.9 by Mob Choir is the one I have the most arguments for being the best, and the coolest

The art for tokyo ghoul is rad, obviously I love the story or I wouldn’t have nearly bought all the manga cough 2 volumes left cough

Personally though my favourite opening ever is the seven deadly sins one I sent up there. They change their openings alot though.
