Though there are not many, RPs inspired but game shows (any competition type tv shows) and reality tv shows tend to be well liked. Some fail and die out, while others survive. These types of RPs are set to give the option of repeating the RP again with new characters, while giving a goal and an end in sight for the RPers and characters.
What do you think of game show/reality tv inspired RPs?
Well, I have two reality show ones that I think work well for SGs. I’ve started a Love Island in the restricted section, which I have already written 4 parts for. Then once I have work and SG writing in a good balance, I’m planning to bring back The Bachelor(ette) as an SG again. So I think mid-October will be when I start that, I hope.
I’ve really liked to try and make an rpg from a game show called ‘the mole’ It’s concept is so much fun but I’m not sure how to get games and tasks that are fitting for it because it needs to be interactive and something where someone can manipulate/ sabotage.
I’ve tried twice but still want to do it.
This bacically explains everything it’s a english version of it but here in the netherlands its still a huge thing and everyone loves it.
for the viewers it’s fun to think of theories who the mole is, and they even edit the whole show in a way that everyone is suspicious and things get crazy.

Take for example the are you the one rps, they were a hit.
I actually think most reality shows make great rp ideas.
And they’re fun
i think they have to be some of the best kind cos theyre relationship based and thats rlly the premise of rping as a whole
I love them because it’s fun to wonder if you’re character will get voted off or what kinds of relationships each character will make.
I think they’re rad, though they’re not really my thing. I’m trying to get on it though, which is why I agreed on co-making Meraki with friends 
I think I’m gonna be able to handle that because it’s not really romance-focused

I thought about it, but wouldn’t that be weird because you can’t really see when someone’s real, you know?
Yeah, exactly, that’s the only thing I can’t work out. How to write both angles but still leave the surprise. That’s why I asked you both. (wink)
I mean you could have that the mc knows so they know when someone is playing an catfish.
Or you only use a fake name but then people have to guess if you’re writing as your own personality or an character/catfish.
Yeah, though I feel it won’t be pulled off in the same way having an RP writing as a character portraying another character.
I really wanted to do that after season one but I don’t really think it could work as a rp/sg
