Games that go viral

So, a few games really just come by and get a ton of attention. The major games that I really noticed going viral were Minecraft, Overwatch, and Fortnite. Although I have played each of those games a little bit, I played only a few minutes of Fortnite and a few hours of Overwatch. Minecraft’s still awesome, though, and everyone is free to fight me on that front.

So, what are your thoughts on games that go viral?
Do you usually like the games that become viral?
Do you usually purchase games that go viral (or play them if they’re free)?

Minecraft went viral back in 2012 or 2013. I started playing it because my students were so obsessed with it, and I wanted to know what the big deal was. I ended up enjoying it, though I mostly played creative mode and built houses for the characters from the story I was writing at the time.

Fortnite became extremely popular in 2018. Nearly every kid and teen I knew played it. My nephews are still obsessed with Fortnite, and I used to play it because it was so important to them. But their dad doesn’t let them play any video games with adults, relatives or not, so I stopped playing because it isn’t fun to play it by yourself and not be able to talk about skins or game features with your relatives. :disappointed:

Among Us is viral now since a lot of people play it.

Some of them are cool I guess.

Only some of them.

I’d play them if they are free, I wont waste time purchasing in them.

They often die out really fast

Most of them are multiplayer so not usually, I found among us fun but that died out too lol

If they’re free I’ll play them but unless I actually really like the game there is literally no point in buying it
