Gravity Falls: A New Adventure! [Official Thread]

Marlene put her food in the small freezer located in the backseat. “I’d hardly call this a date,” Arlo responded, “I’ve taken you on far better ones. This is just business and spare time. However I can note this for the next time you want dinner.” Arlo added a slight smile at the end to keep up with sentence.

“That aquatic looking restaurant does look nice. It has good service too.” Marlene pondered. “Next time we hit their joint.” Marlene stated with a smirk. “On another note, You do seem like the type that could call combat a date. That also wouldn’t be the first time.” Arlo added.

“Of course, all combat scenarios are considered dates in my book.” Marlene slyly stated using the motion of quotation marks. As they arrived at the catacombs.

Stepping out and walking into the catacombs as Marlene took in the pristine nature of the rough floor and brick-dirt like walls. The weapons were all ready and set to be fired. It was truly gorgeous the various of guns, staffs, heavy mech and even a turret nestled slightly to the right. Albeit some were broken from previous “matches.” Arlo took a notice-

“Those were quite some defenses. Nevertheless, I can repair them. For now, you do have the radar with you? A nice scan of the area would help. We want them to not get too far, But reaching city limits would be alright. This town needs to stay special after all.” Arlo stated. Marlene gave him a nod as she took out a slip of paper and read the incantation on the back after reading it a shift in the earth’s plate as Marlene could already hear the screaming civilians and the rift of the earth’s crust. Quickly clicking a button radars booted up alongside a screen showcasing all of the areas of Gravity Falls. Marlene watched as civilians scurried for help or into shops and their homes as the zombies began coming out of multiple holes.

Marlene gave Arlo a thumbs up and took out her phone making a call before taking a deep breath to get into character another FBI Agent answered.

Miss Northwest- You never call so early!? Is there an emergency. The mans voice rang throughout the catacombs thankfully Marlene reworked her device so echos can’t be heard from the other side of the cellphone.

Rolling her eyes she began, “Yes! Were getting sight of these odd tears in the earth’s crust, Their dark with green ooze and smoke. Don’t let the citizens get close I don’t know what that stuff can do to them! Block off the cities border limit- Nothing gets out or in.” Marlene stated in a worried yet stern tone.

Right away! Anything else required? The man asked as Marlene responded. “Ready some tanks and a chopper, Don’t let our machinery get too close to the citizens though they’ll panic more than they already are.” Marlene stated with a sad tone giving a small fake sniff.

“I vowed to protect every citizen in Gravity Falls, And I won’t rest until that is achieved.” Marlene added in a false sincere tone as the agent agreed and thanked her quickly hanging up to send out the orders as Marlene scoffed.

“Done and done.” Marlene turned off her phone and slid it back in her jacket pocket. Looking at the screens of various citizens fleeting the scene with barely any available.

After around 5 minutes passed. "It’s time. Go out and look like your running just as the citizens are to prevent suspicion- Then go to that metal tree near that dusty old video game store. It has the mini-speaker there and it needs to be turned on so the sound waves can transfer to the new sound wave weapon.

“Then blah blah, I come out of the woodwork’s with the other agents- Grab the weapon off the back of the tank and use it. Dramatic speech about how much I love the town and the residents. The typical clap. Then maybe a restaurant.” Marlene explained to Arlo with a wink as she approached him.

“Be careful, Wouldn’t want a zombie attacking you.” Marlene stated averting her eyes slightly with honesty as she handed him a chip that nullifies the human smell granting zombies to divert from that person.

“You’re only 14?” Rowan said looking confused at the boy. “Well of all the places you come looking in Gravity Falls for a place to stay? These places might be cheap but I wouldn’t stay here.” Rowan said. “Unless your use to gnomes and scary noises at night.” Rowan shivered a little.

Angel laughed by immediately agreed. “Gravity Falls isn’t for the frail of heart.” Angelic added as she shut and locked the register.

Suddenly her body tensed up as a weird shiver coursed through her blood. She sensed impending doom in a sense- It was odd. Angel would definitely have to check around alongside retrieve her book. “Odd…” Angelica trailed off.

Suddenly in walked a girl that looked around her age. Albeit she wore a headscarf and had a more rocker/punk style. Something was off about her though it’s like her eyes were dead inside but their was a glimmer of light fighting back. Regardless she looked exhausted mentally and physically.

“Welcome to The Mystery Shack, Feel free to look at the dumb contraptions.” Angelica said to the girl as she popped a piece of candy in her mouth when suddenly her Grandmother burst into the conversation.

“Jimena! Look who it is! My equally favorite granddaughter.” Maria gave a hearty laugh giving Angel a nudge as Angelica nearly choked on the candy ball earning a hard hit on the back from her grandmother.

“This is my sister!?” Angelica looked up in confusion until it obviously hit her on how similar they looked before she sighed not only in confusion but slight awkwardness.

“Yer’ darn tootin it is! She lives in California with your parents and now she’s here for the summer!” Maria chuckled giving Jimena a pat.

“Parents!? You live with our parents?” Angel turned to Jimena giving her an appalled look. “So your telling me I lived here in a wooden shack for 17 years but you lived in lavish California with our parents?” Angel spat and folded her arms as she already felt her anger built up.

“Look…I love a good teen fight or two but you guys are sisters! You have all the time in the world to get to know each other don’t let circumstances ruin that or yeah inspirational quote thingy.” Maria stated in a sweet yet stern tone.

“Oh please! At-least she lived with our parents. I didn’t get that emotional connection.” Angel slammed her fist on the wooden counter probably gaining a splinter but she didn’t care. “Just. Forget it.” Angel added as she rolled her eyes.

Maria took a breath. “Everything will get better. IN the meantime she will be sharing your room! Haha yes!” Maria stated proudly only to earn a sharp glare from Angel.

Angelica turned to Jimena and scowled. “Just bring your bag up here.” Angel motioned Jimena to follow her as they went up the stairs. Angel opened the door revealing the attic bedroom. “Do whatever you want just don’t touch my side.” Angel stated.

Jimena walked into the shack and quickly noticed that the thing was falling apart at the seams. The whole place screamed “tourist trap kitch”, and it was filled to the brim with Barnum-style “curriosities” and poorly taxidermied “creatures”. Would she really have to stay here the whole summer?

A rather curvy, tan skinned girl called to her from behind the gift shop’s cheap register. “Welcome to The Mystery Shack, Feel free to look at the dumb contraptions.” Jimena snorted. She liked this girl’s style. The two of them seemed to be thinking the exact same thing. However, as she looked at the girl, something was tugging at her. Jimena couldn’t quite place it, but she was feeling something… off. Bill seemed to be having the time of his life. She could feel him as he matierialized behind her, clutching his sides and doubled over in laughter. She couldn’t ask him what he was going on about- There were too many people in earshot. She’d just have to try and ignore him, and fight the urge to put her hands over her ears. Luckily, though, someone came out to distract her; A grey-haired woman with a wide, cheery smile.

“So I guess you’re my Abulea then?” Jimena asked with a small smile, and the woman scooped her up in a tight hug. “Jimena! Look who it is! My equally favorite granddaughter.” She cried, eventually releasing her grip. Jimena looked up in confusion as the girl behind the counter coughed and sputtered. “What do you mean, ‘equally’?” She asked her grandmother as Bill’s laughed grew louder and more hysterical. Unable to help herself, she whispered to him harshly: “What are you laughing about?!

The girl behind the counter stood up, half confused and half outraged. “This is my sister!?” She cried, and Jimena’s jaw dropped. She turned to the girl and it all hit her so suddenly: The resemblence between the two of them, both in looks and attitude, Bill’s laughter, her getting invited down here in the first place. “I was wondering how long it would take you to figure it out!” Bill quipped, sighing exhaustedly from his laughing fit and wiping tears from his eye. “I think the lack of sleep is messing with your brain, Crossbones!” Jimena ignored him, though, and looked back and forth between the girl and her grandmother as a smile of pure, innocent joy slowly spread accross her face. Slightly teary, she said “…I have a sister?”

She’d always hated being an only child, espescially after the move. Once all her friends had been left behind at the border, the loneliness was worse than ever. She’d often dream as a kid of having a little sister who she could dress up and play with all day long… Little did she know that her dreams had been true this whole time. “What…how did this happen?” She asked, too happy to even try to cimprehend the logistics of the whole thing. However, her newfound sister didn’t seem nearly as happy. “Parents!? You live with our parents?” She asked, furious. “So your telling me I lived here in a wooden shack for 17 years but you lived in lavish California with our parents?” All of the happiness Jimena had been feeling faded instantly. She’d only just met her long-lost sister, and already her bitterness had knocked her off of her feet. Still, though, she tried to stay positive. “Um, I actually live in the frozen wastelands on Alaska…” She said, half-joking, “But at least we have family, right?” Her sister, however, didn’t listen. Even as their Grandmother asked her to take a minute to calm down, she just huffed silently. BEing told that she’d have to share her room probably didn’t make her feel better.

As her Abuela had ordered, Jimena took her heavy bags and followed Angel quietly to their room in the attic. “Just bring your bag up here." Angel said, motioning to a side of the large room where a bare bed waited. “Do whatever you want just don’t touch my side.” Jimena couldn’t understand it. “We… We just met.” She noted quietly. “What did I do to you?” She asked, looking up at Angel. Sitting on the empty bed, she slid off her bandana and scratched along her dry, bald scalp. Bill sat on the bed next to her, chuckling. “Maybe she can tell just from looking at you how annoying you are.” He suggested sarcastically, but Jimena ignored him. “I’m… I’m sorry that you didn’t get to live with our parents. I’m sorry that you were stuck in this tourist trap while I was up in Alaska. And I’m sorry that I never got to meet you, or even know you existed. But I am glad to meet you, and glad to finally have a sister. I’ve always wanted one since I was little. You don’t have to like me or anything.” She assured Angel. “I understand if I’m too depressing for you. But…” She ran her hand quietly over her head. “At the very least, could you let me know if you guys have a coffee maker?” She asked.

“We… We just met.” She noted quietly. “What did I do to you?” She asked, looking up at Angel. Sitting on the empty bed, she slid off her bandanna and scratched along her dry, bald scalp. Angel kept quiet momentarily as she continued.

You don’t have to like me or anything.” Jimena assured Angel. “I understand if I’m too depressing for you.

Angelica sighed realizing snapping at her was immature, “I’m sorry. It’s just that I never got that. I never got a taste of control- I mean any teen wants freedom but I’ve always had too much of it.” Angel admitted. “I never had my parents at prom or to sign permission slips. I love our abuela but I never even got to meet my parents, Only a few postcards every year.” Angel’s eyes dared to well up but she quickly wiped them anyway.

“Regardless, I’m sorry for snapping at you. That wasn’t the best outlook I should’ve taken. My name is Angelica- Of course Mondragon. I’m 17 how old are you?” Angel asked curiously.

But…” Jimena ran her hand quietly over her head. “At the very least, could you let me know if you guys have a coffee maker?” Jimena asked. Angelica chuckled. Hitting the wall as a shelf full of appliances, A cooler, mini-fridge, coffee maker, espresso maker and snack bag sit promptly on the shelf.

“I’ve been living here all my life, I go to the local high school. And trust me your going to have a love-hate relationship with this place. Considering all the paranormal activity that goes on here…If you see gnomes run, Zombies run, And a giant orc like green monster cover your eyes.” Angelica stated in a serious tone.

“Don’t tell Abuela or her wife- They will destroy my secret supply.” Angelica winked. “Pick your poison.” Angelica stated dramatically showcasing the shelf.

As Angel watched she kept noticing Jimena’s bald head. “Can I ask about your hair?” Angel stated in a slightly quiet and calm tone so she didn’t come off abrasive. Of course her first thought was an illness or condition.

Watching Marlene work her magic was almost as fascinating as the act itself. Whatever she did to get her hands on a book like that must have been rightfully worth it. However, the incantations were just that, magic that seemed so because no one understood it yet. Nowhere else in this world was it found and as a result, Arlo was less inclined to believe that it was actually magic. Most likely an advanced science that no one had yet discovered.

The earthquake did its job in the end. Arlo sidestepped a stray fallen branch in favour of dusting off his coat. All the debris just floating about. Careless and messy, yet needed. It really was unfortunate. Still, the whole extent of the magic made everything look like the undead were scrambling from tears in the earth. They were already active, this was just the little push to kick off the summer.

He picked up a few scraps from the damaged defence systems storing them for later. It really was rare that anything made it through them, but it just meant that there would be creatures that would be worth capturing. In the background, Marlene had her whole FBI act over the phone, Arlo filed away the few snippets that he heard for consistency later. It wouldn’t correlate with the rude lady ordering coffee, but people also tended to forget such moments.

“Just don’t make it look too easy. I know you know how to fix everything, but leaping to the sound system seems a little fast. I’ll activate it regardless. Draw it out, don’t let too many people die, but there’s always the one moment where everything clicks on the fringe of desperation. That’s when you hit the note.”

Arlo took the nullifier before shoving it in his pocket. If the zombies weren’t directly attacking, it simply allowed more time to study them. Hopefully, Marlene didn’t just want him to wait by the arcade the whole time. She wouldn’t notice between all the pandemonium either.

“Don’t die, I’ll be waiting,” he remarked, “and text, please. Yes, there are creatures running about, but you have a phone. Don’t ignore me, it’s not fun. I might even get you another iced mocha frappuccino.”

Arlo pressed a light grin while waving her off. Even then, pulling the concerned citizen act was something done far outside the bounds of the catacombs. Blending in was easy after that. In some ways, it was a pity that he had to deal with the potential death of other talented students and residents alike, but it was for a higher purpose.

Getting to the decrepit game store was the second factor. For the extra kick, he took the speakers into a new rigging on the roof. A better vantage point for the oncoming creatures regardless. By the end, he pulled out his phone, sending Marlene the confirmation for activation and then hoping that she wasn’t lost in the thrill of the fight.

Then again, it could be a few minutes.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to assume your age…It is odd that they sent you here without any parental guardian.” He nodded.

“Yeah, I think they were just stressed or something.” He mumbled the last part. After he explained a little what happened he could see a worried expression on one of the girl’s faces. He asked once more of they had a place where he can stay.

“Well…My grandma does have a spare room upstairs. You could stay there until someone comes to help you?” Before Milos got a chance to answer, an elderly lady yelled out.

“Not for free he isn’t!” The girl rolled her eyes. “Ignore her, You definitely are not giving any money you have to this fake of an attraction.” She smiled.

“Thank you so much!” He exclaimed with gratitude. He was still very much a kid but he knew he could handle himself.

“Can I have your names?” He asked and he looked at both girls.

“You’re only 14?” The other girl asked.

“Yeah, I look a little younger than I am.”

“Well of all the places you come looking in Gravity Falls for a place to stay? These places might be cheap but I wouldn’t stay here.” The girl said. “Unless your use to gnomes and scary noises at night.” He saw the girl shiver which caused him to be scared. Gnomes? He thought. He hoped she was just kidding, but she looked dead serious.

“Gnomes? Like the tiny people that live in gardens?” Just when he thought he could live alone, now there’s creatures roaming around. Where exactly did my mom send me? He was a little bit of a scaredy cat, so he doesn’t know if he can make the summer. Then again he was known to be gullible so he was scared he was falling for another person’s prank.

“Please tell me you’re kidding.” He said with a worried expression.

Sadie got in the first seat of the bus after sprinting out her adopted family’s home, she hadn’t packed much but what she had was going to have to do.

While sitting on the bus she played with her necklace her mom and dad gave her when she was a child. she starred out the window the entire bus ride.

When she got to Gravity Falls she got a eerie feeling. She took her bags and got off the bus. She saw everyone already set up and she knew she was late and the only person late.

Jimena looked up at her sister just in time to see her wipe tears from her eyes. After hearing her explaination, she could understand everything. She didn’t blameher for seemingly not being able to control her emotions- Growing up without much control or disipline always had an affect on a person, since those are some of the most important things to provide a child. It was hard for Jimena to discern which was worse; Being allowed to run around practically feral, or being controlled and coddled to the point that you feel imprisoned. She gently patted her sister’s arm. “It’s okay. I understand how you feel. I never even knew that Abuela existed until she invited me down here, and I didn’t even know about you until I met you a couple of second ago. It was always so lonely… I can’t imagine what it would have been like if I didn’t even have Mom and Dad, too.”

There was a brief second where both sisters were awkwardly, guiltily silent. Eventually, though, Jimena found a bright side. “At least I’ve gotten to meet you know, though, right? It’s kind of cool, discovering that you had more family than you knew.”

Her sister seemed to agree. “Regardless, I’m sorry for snapping at you. That wasn’t the best outlook I should’ve taken." She said. “My name is Angelica- Of course Mondragon. I’m 17 how old are you?” “Oh, of course you get to have a cool name.” Jimena joked wryly. “It suits you. I’m actually 17, too. If we looked anything alike I would even suggest that we could be twins.”

Suddenly, Angelica chuckled and hit a wall near her bed. Before Jimena could ask if she was okay, a shelf opened up over Angelica’s bed, filled with everything a growing teenaged girl needed: A cute little matching mini-fridge and cooler, a coffee maker, a bag of junk food, and, best of all, and expresso maker. “Don’t tell Abuela or her wife- They will destroy my secret supply.” Angel warned her, before gesturing to the shelf like it was a prize on a game show. “Pick your poison.” Jimena could almost hear a choir of angels singing as she got up to take a closer look- It’d been a week or two since her last full night of sleep, and she’d been so worried about drifting off on her first night in Gravity Falls. But with this, she could stay up for a whole other week, at least- And, more importantly, she wouldn’t have to tell her family about her secret yet.

As she peeked inside the snack bag, Angel laid down the law: “I’ve been living here all my life, I go to the local high school. And trust me your going to have a love-hate relationship with this place. Considering all the paranormal activity that goes on here…If you see gnomes run, Zombies run, And a giant orc like green monster cover your eyes.” “Paranormal activity?” Jimena looked up to see Angel’s expression. She didn’t look like she was joking. “You can’t be serious…” Even though she sounded incredulous, things were starting to make sense. Her eyes darted quickly to Bill, who was still sitting on Jimena’s bed, looking smugly satisfied. Had he known about this the whole time? He was glowing rhythmically, the way he did when he spoke, and yet Jimena didn’t hear his voice. As he glowed, though, words tumbled out of her mouth, completely out of her control. “Unless you can prove it?” Jimena fought the urge to put a hand over her mouth or shake her head clear, and she looked at the demon out of the corner of her eye as defiantly as she could, hoping he wouldn’t be able to see right through her. Partly to calm her nerves and partly to try and take back control, she began to make a cup of coffee.

As the smell of dark roast wafted into the air, she could feel Angel’s eyes on her. Did she notice anything weird? Had Jimena not played it cool enough? She wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case, since she was still a little shaken up from what had happened. Bill hadn’t been able to speak through her while she was awake since a little bit after she’d first made the deal, a whole two years ago. But when Angelica softly spoke, she didn’t ask about what Jimena had expected her to. “Can I ask about your hair?” She asked. A bit surprised, Jimena felt her head to remind herself of the smooth surface. She’d kind of gotten used to it, forgotten that there was supposed to be something up there. She chuckled awkwardly. “Oh, uh, yeah. I lost it a while ago, I think about a year and a half ago. It’s from chemo. You probably could have guessed that though.” Sitting down with her coffee, she tried not to meet Angelica’s eyes. Her stomach rumbled anxiously- This was why she didn’t bring it up. It always made everything so…

She cleared her throat and took a sip.

"…There is no better town to spend summer,” Oliver finished.

I smiled, knowing that being here would be a lot more interesting than back in the southern town of Locust Grove.

“I’m Oliver,” he’d say after realizing I wasn’t going to reply. “And it’s a pleasure to meet you.”

“Rae,” she replied. “And same to you.”

“Are you staying anywhere? I know that there are many transfer students through the years…”

“Actually, I’m taking an off-year for… personal reasons. And I was looking for a place to stay, but haven’t figured out where yet.”

“We always have a room open and it’s certainly cheaper than staying at a motel or finding a flat.”

“Oh, that sounds wonderful!” Rae would say, sounding relieved.

“If you do want to skip straight to the fun bits, a few of my friends are meeting up and the famed Mystery Shack to mess with the other new residents. It’s a blast, I can guarantee that.”

“That sounds like something I did back when I was a freshman in high school. Messing with people… I’m totally in!”

She readjusted her gym bag and smiled. Maybe this place isn’t as bad as what users had said on the Conspiracy of GF forums.

Rae, that’s certainly a unique name,” he commented, “you’ll fit right in with all the unique-ness milling about.” Unlike Oliver, who had the most basic name ever. Ah well, not like he could switch. Stil, new people were new people and Rae was nice. That was already most of it in terms of good luck. As long as there wasn’t another Aiden in town.

“I’ll bring you around my home later for you to check out the room. it’s quite spacy so you can always tag along with a friend or so. We kept it that way just in case the transfer students were siblings or boarding together. Lot’s of things in this town, best not to ever be alone.” They could get to that later by the looks of that, it was also nice that she accepted. As ever as amazing as the rent or the motels were, something about the home comfort was better. Everyone naturally knew each other here as well. Might as well bring in a new family member rather than a mysterious isn’t stranger.

Rae just seemed amazing after that. Sure, she looked older, but teens were teens at this point. Even the schools just combined classes after a handful of students living here. It’s wasn’t hard to find the same science teacher covering all the different subjects to different grade levels.

“The mystery shack is the usually hang out point for my friends and me, but I’ll be sure to introduce you,” Oliver continued while walking in that direction, “we’ll drop your stuff off later since you don’t have much if you don’t mind. When I say that the town is weird, the shack has to be the centre of it. Yes, it’s technically a tourist trap, but also a sweet hangout spot. Angelica and her grandparents run it, lovely people. There is Aiden, but he’s a jerk, his sister Isabella. I mean, I suppose you could warm up to them and they have good moments. The wealth just gets to their head.”

The fact that Rae was still there just nudged Oliver into a slight shock now because, wow, she hadn’t left after all his excited ranting. Must be nice to be clueless and new.

“Also, watch for the zombies,” he popped in just as the ground started the shake, “as strange as this is, just start running for the shack, the sheriff of the tow always fixes everything. We’re in good hands, I promise.”

“…Lots of things in this town, best not to ever be alone.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised,” she said quietly, as if someone else was nearby. “No wonder my parents left so long ago.”

“The Mystery Shack is the usual hang out point for my friends and me, but I’ll be sure to introduce you,” he continued while the two walked in that general direction. “We’ll drop your stuff off later…”

The cell phone she recently payed for back in Atlanta buzzed in her jean pocket. Probably another message from the CGF forum, she’d note to herself. It’s been several days since I last replied there.

“…technically a tourist trap, but also a sweet hang out spot. Angelica and her grandparents run it, lovely people. There’s Aiden, but he’s a jerk, and his sister Isabella. I mean, I suppose you could warm up to them, and they have good moments. The wealth just gets to their heads.”

“Luckily it doesn’t get to mine,” Rae said, thinking about all the money she had to transfer before her parents could get a hold of. “There are way more interesting things in life than just money, like heirlooms or something…”

She trailed off, fidgeting with her necklace. Something wasn’t feeling right to her, but she wasn’t sure what it was. Maybe it’s just my imagination again-

“Also, watch for zombies,” he’d say, interrupting her train of thought. “As strange as this is, just start running for the shack. The sheriff of the town always fixes everything. We’re in good hands, I promise.”

“Zombies?” Rae asked, still fidgeting with the necklace. “That honestly doesn’t surprise me. What type are they? Are they slow, like The Walking Dead, or like the ones in World War Z? Do you have anything to fight them, like some type of weapon? And what do you mean when you said that the town sheriff fixes everything?”

She was nervous, that was obvious. It caused her to talk more and ask a lot of questions. Sure, she didn’t know how to use anything as a weapon, but she did have self-defense lessons about a year ago. Her phone started to buzz again. Slightly irritated, she yanked it out of the right pocket and pressed the button on the side.

Two new messages…

@ShadowRaven01, haven’t heard from you in several days. Everything okay there?

@ShadowRaven01 There’s a rumor on one of the threads saying that you left home and are heading to GF. Is this true?

With a sigh of frustration, she closed out of the forum and slid her phone back into her right pocket. At the same time, she noticed an odd-looking building up ahead. Is that the place Oliver was talking about?

Oliver just laughed lightly with the wealth comment, “I’m sure heirlooms could mean much to one. If I had all the money in the world, I’d probably use it to afford university. It’s pretty sad, but that’s how this country is run nowadays. Crippling student debt and loans. I really am going to miss this town.” Just another year now, what could possibly go wrong? At least it guaranteed something interesting.

He just sidestepping the falling poles and cracking buildings with the casual air of someone that’s dealt with the oddities of their town for far too long. Not to say that there was a safe way to traverse the slight earthquake, but at this point, he didn’t care. Rae also seemed to be taking this well, though it only stemmed of Oliver thinking he’d set off a bad prescient. Sure there were killer zombies, but that was Tuesday, eh?

“There’s one over there,” he muttered with a lazy gaze in that direction, “I’d say Walking Dead-ish, but they aren’t really ‘zombies’, just undead creatures of that sort. There is a weapon, but the town sheriff has it. Some sort of musical note, as weird as that is, but I don’t question it. She gets the job done and that’s more than perfect for the town.” Oliver just shrugged to prove his point. No one truly knew how the mysterious sheriff got all her supplies and such, but she just did. Something bad happened to the town, she fixed it, no one really asked.

Rae would get it. She seemed intuitive.

So they just ducked over fallen parts and past more cracks. She was on her phone, Oliver just scanned the area.

There was a zombie. Oliver yelled out loud before stumbling backwards in the chaos. No, it wasn’t that close yet but looming. Right, stay calm, it was just a zombie after all. They weren’t supposed to be this close. Still working on the heart rate aspect, he scrambled for a temporary weapon, a fallen plank of wood or something. Where was the bloody sheriff already?

“Rae, run. The shack is just up ahead, it’s weird, there is a massive totem pole in front,” he yelled out, drawing the zombie away, “Stay there for a few hours? And uh…welcome to Gravity Falls!”

As Arlo dashed off to activate the sound system. Marlene swiftly left the catacombs and peered around the corner already seeing multiple FBI cars and a chopper hovering above the city. Marlene rolled her eyes before putting on a frightened yet stern face she approached the agents.

Agent Northwest- Have you seen this chaos?!

“Not up close until now, I had a long time getting here. It’s…chaos. We need to get the civilians to safety immediately. Take as many as you can and provide them a temporary stronghold in the bunker located a block from here.” Marlene ordered snapping her fingers as the agent nodded and began clearing the area.

Noticing Arlo, Marlene hastily approached him but dipped behind a few trees to avoid eyesight from the agents rescuing citizens. “Don’t die, I’ll be waiting,” Arlo remarked, “and text, please . Yes, there are creatures running about, but you have a phone. Don’t ignore me, it’s not fun. I might even get you another iced mocha frappuccino.” Arlo stated.

"Hm…Typically I wouldn’t allow you to bribe me with coffee. But just this once! Marlene’s eyes darted to a civilian attempted to dodge the falling rubble and tree branches. “I’ll shoot you a signal when it’s time.” Marlene whispered to Arlo as he waved her off she helped the civilian as they thanked her over and over. Marlene casted a fake smile as the agent ran back up to her.

We’ve saved as many as we can…We can’t rescue everyone. The agent remorsefully said as Marlene placed a hand on his shoulder. “I have an idea. Remember the archives that stated how to handle zombies? Music affects them…I don’t know how but if we can temporarily stop this destruction then we can save the town once more.” Marlene stated proudly but not too over the top so it wouldn’t be obvious.

Right away! Mark! Attach some speakers to the vehicle and blast them on Marlene’s order!

Marlene smirked as she secretly took out her phone clicking on the notification from Arlo as he confirmed confirmation for the speakers to be run. Marlene shifted around helping for dramatic effect and secretly cut the wire of the agent’s speaker preventing double the speakers playing.

“Ready.” Marlene shot Arlo the text as the music blared down the streets as the zombies melted leaving nothing more than the shell of goo it left behind. The cracks seemingly reverted closing itself and most of the citizens were saved all but the casual two. Marlene sighed sending an “I owe you.” text to Arlo with a smile.

Turning back to the agent she skillfully let a few tears from her eyes- Of course she’d been trained to cry on the spot for so long it felt like second-hand nature. The citizens and agents suddenly clapped going into a cheerful frenzy. As Marlene proudly jumped on one of the vehicles standing up.

“My name is Marlene Northwest! Head Agent of Gravity Falls Police Department. And No matter what happens or any monster that dares to step foot into this town- I will protect my citizens at any and every cost!”

Marlene stated in a confident tone only granting the citizens to roar even louder. Jumping down from the car as ambulances pulled up and the mayor handed her a usual medal with a gleeful thank you.“Just doing my job.” Marlene stated with a smile giving the mayor a handshake and after a few more minutes when it wouldn’t be unsual. Marlene slipped towards the back of the building approaching Arlo.

“Ugh. I can’t stand having to make speeches for these pr*cks.” Marlene scrunched up her face and sanitized her hand from the mayor’s handshake. “Honestly, You’d think they would catch on even a little by now.” Marlene chuckled. “But…I do owe a-lot to you partner.” Marlene winked fixing her black tresses from the commotion.

“Oliver, I’m not going to let you fight this undead *sshole by yourself!” Rae said, her eyes glowering on the zombie.

She found several medium-sized rocks nearby and started throwing them at the… thing. It would hit the monster square in the face, distracting it from Oliver so he’d have time to find something to defend himself with.

“Come on, you son of a b*tch!” I yelled, throwing another rock at its decaying body.

“At least I’ve gotten to meet you know, though, right? It’s kind of cool, discovering that you had more family than you knew.” Jimena stated. Angel chuckled. “Your right, Plus Abuela would roast me alive if I held a grudge.” Angel rolled her eyes.

“Oh, of course you get to have a cool name.” Jimena joked wryly. “It suits you. I’m actually 17, too. If we looked anything alike I would even suggest that we could be twins.” Jimena suggested.

“Honey we have the gene combination of an 43 year old woman with long dark hair and a now elderly woman. We aren’t getting that far,” Angelica joked as they continued chatting. Jimena froze a bit over Angel discussing paranormal activity. “No…I’m serious. I can show you my journal. That is if you can handle it.” Angel stated in a teasing manner. Suddenly Jimena snapped into some sort of trance as Angelica felt a power source that wasn’t present before.

As Jimena shakily made the coffee, “Oh, uh, yeah.

Jimena cleared her throat and took a sip.

Angelica dead-faced her sister with one of the most serious expressions she’d made.

Clearing her throat Angelica talked to her sister. “Section B, Page 475. Demon Possession through mind paths. What have you gotten yourself into?” Angelica furrowed her eyebrows which of course Jimena nearly choked on her coffee. “I’m not…Normal. In the slightest myself. I can sense power balances but I have vast knowledge of any creature that’s in or out of Gravity Falls.” Angelica squinted her eyes as Jimena’s as a yellow triangle glowed promptly.

*“Bill.” Angelica muttered with an eye roll. Standing up and before she could even scold the angry tortilla chip the ground began to shake alongside the shack with it. “Aw Cmon’!” Angelica stated angrily as she caught one of the photo frames that nearly shattered to the ground due to the force of the earthquake.

“Come on.” Angelica helped her sister up as they ran down the stairs to see Abuela and her wife present. The shack began to tore as Maria angrily walked inside. “No No! Not the shack! Kids, Get down now!” Maria stated as cracks began to seep through the floor.

Angelica secretly summoned her journal as her and Jimena dodged cracks and fallen debris, Alongside the other people inside. Angelica pulled Jimena into a nearby room that had metal surfaces and walls. “We should be better off here.” Peering outside of the window various of zombies ran rampant through the streets most citizens were surviving but not all. Only the FBI were present alongside that woman with the black hair that always showed up. She always gave Angel bad vibes but now wasn’t the time for an investigation on the GFPD.

It happened so suddenly. Everything changed as soon as Angel asked about Jimena’s cancer. Jimena still wasn’t entriely sure how her sister could tell, but as soon as Angelica asked "What have you gotten yourself into?” , Jimena knew that she’d seen something. And as soon as Angel looked into Jimena’s eyes and quietly muttered “Bill.”, Jimane knew she couldn’t hide it anymore. Still, though, she closed her eyes to hide the reflection of the demon who was now making faces over her sister’s shoulder. “D-don’t acknowledge him.” She warned Angel. That was all she could think to say. She never thought that anyone would find out. What was she supposed to say now that it’d actually happened? Sorry for being a naive, desparate kid? Sorry for wanting to live? Sorry for betraying you, sister who I literally just met and who exploded at me out of nowhere the first seconds we knew each other? She turned away, ashamed. As soon as it seemed like the two had finally calmed down and reconciled with eachother, some other problem had come up to tear a rift between them all over again. Couldn’t a girl get a second to breathe.

All of a sudden, the entire shack began to shake. Standing up shakily, Jimena immediatly turned to Bill to confront him. “Whatever you’re doing, you little parasite, you’d better stop it!” Strangely, however, the demon looked just as confused as Jimena and her sister did. “Dont look at me, kid. If I wanted to cause an earthquake, I would have done it hours ago.” “Come on.” Angelica helped her sister up as they ran down the stairs to see Abuela and her wife present. The shack began to tore as Maria angrily walked inside. “No No! Not the shack! Kids, Get down now!” Maria stated as cracks began to seep through the floor. Abuela’s wife, who Jimena hadn’t met yet, was running around the gift shop, gathering breakable merchandise before it fell and screaming: “¡Jesús maldito Cristo!” As she saw the sisters run downstairs, she gestured to a metal saferoom that Angel quickly led Jimena into. Jimena was able to glance out of a window and quickly catch a glimpse of… “A zombie hoard?!” She cried, dumbfounded. Sure, she was possesed by a demon, but that didn’t mean she knew that zombies could exist, too. She sat down underneath a shelf for cover, burrowing her head under her hands. As she took deep breaths and tried to calm down, she could hear police sirens outside. “Does this happen often?” She asked Angel.

“FEAR NOT, FELLOW FALLS-IANS!” Aiden shouted into the megaphone in his hand. He stood on top of the trailer attached to his Father’s 8th-favorite pickup truck as one of his older brothers towed him and his Tent of Telepathy© (Mobile Edition) around the town. “THE TENT OF TELEPATHY IS HERE TO SUPPORT YOU! SHELTER AND PROTECTION ARE AVAILIBLE TO ALL… For a nominal fee, of course.” He muttered the last part away from the megaphone and got an approving nod from his brother from the driver’s seat. He grinned and continued calling out to the screaming, panicking crowd. “SPACES ARE LIMITED! IF YOU WANT TO BE SAVED, YOU MUST DONATE NOW!”

Kicking a zombie that was climbing up the side of the truck away, he noticed someone cowering alone, trying to fight off a small group of zombies with a toilet plunger. Tacking out his trusty t-shirt cannon, he shot out a tightly bundled shirt and a blast of glitter at the zombies around them, knocking off their heads with the force of the guns hydrolics. Motioning for his brother to stop the car, he jumped down from the top of his trailer and extended a hand to the stranded survivor. “Howdy there, friend!” He said, his voice with dripping stage presence and charm. “Need a hand from your friendly local child psychic?”

Approachable (Anyone who wants to be the plunger person)

The music was just as magnificant. Old systems built-in place long ago by Marlene, used over and over again. Even now it was strange how the screaming citizens didn’t recognize that the same thing happened all the time. On another note, there were the few that went about the normal day, shooting zombies away with nonchalance and stepping over fallen buildings. Arlo had to give those individuals some credit for growing up here. That’s what made the natives stand out from the summer transfer students.

For now, he made a mental note for the ‘I owe you’ note Marlene send because hell, that was worth a lot.

The remaining citizens were clapping by the time Arlo crawled back through the ruined mess of the streets. The same charade every time, though he could help but admire the theatrics of it all. Marlene stood in the centre with all the glory again, once again redeeming herself to be the loyal protector of the town. Another medal, more handshakes, the usual. For Arlo, the mere fact of the technology used in the earlier process was enough to captivate him. With modifications already in mind, he skipped over to Marlene with another grin.

“I truly would say that you looked rather amazing, but then it would be like every other time,” he started, “But everyone loved the aftermath. How many keys is that now? You ought to melt that down for components at this point. I can name several inventions I have in mind that could use the conductors.” Hands in pockets and a light skip, Arlo followed her back toward the car.

“A celebration then? It isn’t much but every hero deserves one. Laboratory? We’ll double it as additional progress on the overall project, maybe visit the spaceship again?”

Using the (somehow) still standing light fixture, Oliver swung himself out of the way with the extra time. Rae was even better with this situation that he expect, though far from complaining. He went back for another lose fence spoke before stabbing the undead creature into the nearby bushes. It wasn’t stopped completely, just speared into the ground for now.

Catching his breath, Olived took shakey steps backwards, scanning the area for any additional incoming creatures. For now, it just seemed like the lone zombie was by itself.

“I have to say, you really will fit right in with this town,” he commented. Not even that much time after was the familiar music playing through the air. No one really had any idea why the music was played after every zombie attack, but it somehow worked. Crevices closed, the creatures sunk into the ground, it only left minor structural damages. That’s just how the sheriff operated.

“You either love or hate this town by now,” Oliver joked. They soon veered away from the streets into another patch of forest, the destination already insight.

“Abuela and her wife quickly opened the metal door and ran inside, Locking it back down. As they attempted to get catch a breath they looked up at us in relief.

“We’re fine! I got the panic room open in time.” Angelica stated flashing them a comfortable smile. “A zombie hoard?!” Jimena cried, dumbfounded. Angelica placed her hands on her hips already irritated by the sudden arrival of a hoard of zombies.“Just another day living in Gravity Falls. This isn’t even the worse of it.” Angelica rolled her eyes plopping down on a nearby stool.

Jimena sat down underneath a shelf for cover, burrowing her head under her hands. As she took deep breaths and tried to calm down, she could hear police sirens outside. “Does this happen often?” She asked Angel.

Angelica felt sorry for her sister, Up until her arrival she probably thought things were normal, Not here at-least. "All the time, Not everyday but…typically. It’s always a question mark. One day a gnome or two the next a team up vampires running in broad daylight. Angelic stated. “Keep yourself guarded, You might have bill but if you aren’t prepared anything can get the best of you.” Angelica warned her sister.

Of course this isn’t the first time she’s ran into Bill, He’s a freak of nature. A being who needs to be destroyed. He set the world in dysfunction last year and if it wasn’t thanks to those kids his reign wouldn’t have stopped. Angelica opened the journal flipping through the pages before stopping on the zombie page and showing everyone.

Page 15. Zombies, Can only be awoken by said incantation- The only way to be rid of them is by music. That’s when Angel paused as her thoughts re-ran in her mind. Can only be awoken by an incantation. “But…I’m the only one who has this journal. Someone knows the spell.” Angelica muttered before turning her voice to full volume and standing up in an angry manner.

“Someone- Or something awoke these zombies. They can only be risen by the spell and the spell is only located in my journal…Unless someone far more dangerous messed with the dead.” Angelica scoffed. “I’m investigating.” Angelica stated already turning to an empty journal page and plotting.

“Angel…You know your one smart cookie, But you are not getting involved with those creatures. I limit you to the weird little tiny gnomes and the occasional research on that little alien that runs the telepathy tent. But not a hoard of angry zombies!” Maria stated sternly warning Angel.

“Abuela- With all due respect!” Angelica semi-yelled until she noticed an angered face on her grandmother clearly a choose your words wisely or a shoe is heading right for your head look. Angelica gulped clearing her throat and switching to a calmer tone.

“Grandma Maria, I don’t think this can go unsolved. Not anymore…The gnomes, goblins, that weird kid that runs the telepathy tent who gives me creepy looks every time I attend one of his mind-reading things. Are no genuine threat.”

“I need to go after the bigger bad. Not some level one creatures.” Angelica stated sincerely. Maria sighed bending down a bit to Angel and patting her gently on the head and bringing herself, Angel, and Jimena into a tight hug.

“Fine. But you have to bring your sister! And please…be safe kids. I can’t return Jimena in parts.” Maria chuckled. Angel cringed at her grandmother’s humor. “What!? Can’t take a little dark humor?” Maria rolled her eyes before standing up fully. “Butterflies.” Maria commented in a teasing tone and flashed her granddaughter’s a smile.

Arlo skipped over to Marlene with another grin.

Marlene stretched her back as a crick in her neck dared to follow a slight chuckle escaping her lips. “Per usual, Those idiots would believe anything as long as they nearly die because of it.” Marlene stated with a smug grin.

“Really? I’m listening…I do have too many. As a matter a fact here.” Marlene tossed him a few of her rewards. “You deserve them your just as much of a help as me.” Marlene stated flashing him an eager smile. As Marlene unlocked the car door and slide into the passenger seat she gently placed her documents in the safe-lock box.

“A celebration then? It isn’t much but every hero deserves one. Laboratory? We’ll double it as additional progress on the overall project, maybe visit the spaceship again?” Arlo asked.

Marlene pondered. “If you let me cook those cupcakes I’ve been dying to try. Then you have a deal! I’ll be sure to give you those parts you requested alongside. This.” Marlene took out around 4-5 vials of zombie fluid.

“Considering how talented you are in this department I figured you’d need these.” Tossing him the vials. Marlene unraveled her hair from the bun. Citizens were still cheering as her car sped down the road. Flashing them a few waves and confident smiles they finally exited from the citizens views.

"As fun as the awards are and the occasional TV features. This is all too boring or repetitive. The big event will be when I reveal my true form. And have each and every citizen, agent and tourist in my grip. Finally achieving the main plan. A green tinted glow flourished in her eyes before disappearing all together.

As they arrived to the lab, Marlene grabbed the documents and got out the car. Approaching the lock pad she swiftly entered the numbers and scanned her fingerprint and eye. The various of doors opened still giving her a full scan to confirm her identity alongside Arlo’s. Plopping down on her swivel chair Marlene slid over a chair for Arlo.
