I think I was too worried about the pain when all the kids around me got their ears pierced and when I got older, I just didn’t really see a reason to get it done 
However, sometimes I wear fake helix piercings… I could lose them but never did

I get that. For me, I always believed there wasn’t any point in sticking more holes in your body. However, one birthday I decided to do a number (age I turned) of things I hadn’t done before turning that age. Though they were silly things (like not talk for a day; I failed twice), friends suggested I start off with something big. So it was either a tattoo or a piercing. I choose to get my ears pierced 'cause if I didn’t like it then I could just take them out and they’d close over.
However, I still have them and have sooo many earrings now.
