The hotel was ruined along with every perceived hopeless notion of rehabilitation. Erika crushed it all in a fit of power, leaving behind all the crushed dreams and broken bones behind. Really, a monumental moment because after all this time, it finally happened.

Of course, Myst had to be as inquisitive as ever. No-fault of hers, there was more to this day after all. “We still need the hostages because Evangeline should be getting her powers…about now.” Xero just smiled at this before snapping at the aero craft to lurch forwards out of here. Evangeline would be more than livid, and would no doubt throw anything for revenge.

“The hostages stay. I’m setting a course for my fortress and then throwing a party. Just the three of us because clearly we need to celebrate this. Even for a bit of alcohol, it will be worth it and Hell will remember this day forever. After that, we need to actually split up the territory. There is plenty left to do so don’t fret over potentially running out of inspiration.”

I chuckle. “Well, Erika, you better not drop me noe if Eva focus her wreath at me” I laugh. “Then again, you two are the ones who take her terriatory and I’m just riding along with my deer friend” I said.

“I’m fine.” Toothfairy replied, crawling out from where he’d hidden himself underneath a table. He looked around at the damage those D*mned kids had caused: The Hotel was in ramshackles. Doors had flown off hinges, furniture was wrecked, and a whole wall had caved in. Worse than that, Evangeline looked absolutely different: Drained but livid, like a tiger in a cage. The lack of her powers- But more so, Toothfairy suspected, the lack of control and order- had driven her wild and made her into a demoness he’d never met before.

And even worse, his pie had been ruined.

“What are we going to do about this mess?” He asked her. “The Hotel? Our kidnapped friends? The fox girl! We have to rescue her. We can’t let her be abused any more than she already has been.”

Erika acknowledged that Myst had played an important role in executing their plan to destroy Eva. She deserved her share in the territories as well. Erika was not going to do anything unfair to anyone, unlike.

“Oh no, Mystie!”, she exclaimed,“We probably wouldn’t be able to take Eva down without, so you deserve your share as well” Erika approached to her and hugged her. She looked over her shoulder a Xero, “Right, Xero?” she asked him. The answer should be positive or now Xero would gain a new enemy

I chuckle. “Erika, I love you, and it’s sweet, but we both know I’m not powerful enough to keep it longer than a week before someone else takes it from me. I’ll just give it to you and you can name it after me instead” I explain with a wink.

“I’m not a ruler” I add and turn to them. “Plus I wouldn’t be able to do anything without someone who can use the powers I find to their full extent” I smile and do a little bow. “I happily play the supporting role for you,” I tell her.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be wanting to have a territory for my own, I would only be stressing about who’s in there, and how to keep people from taking it. I wouldn’t have time to do anything fun anymore.

The ship landed just as smoothly and the drones flew out to arrange their part of setting the placement for the celebration. Xero just clicked open the shuttle doors before glancing back at the two other demons. They were more preoccupied with hugging and other mundane things, but a celebration was a celebration in the end. They could do whatever now without any opposing threat.

“Myst can get what she wants,” he sighed, “If she doesn’t want her cut of the territory, I am however available to watch over that share for you. There is still plenty left to claim so feel free to take whatever.” Evangeline had gathered quite the power in her reign, so sharing wasn’t an issue. At the same time, it just seemed like Erika was looking more just to agitate him. Xero just waved them toward the door. No one would truly get along here, but they all did their parts and that was enough.

Myst was just the perfect henchman type, so maybe she would consider a more prominent position. Another glance at Erika and Xero decided against it. To sort out the confusion, he just summoned another drone with drinks toward the women.

The only last thing was to check on the two hostages. Xero kicked open the containment from the outside mildly observing both demons huddled together in the darkness. “Pathetic,” he muttered before dragging both of them out toward the centre of the room. “Don’t break anything here or I will break you,” he warned before heading back to Myst and Erika. The two prisoners weren’t a concern and they could really do anything here.

“If you do have an activity to contribute, feel free. I’ve never been concerned with what other girls wanted before and you’re the first outsiders to arrive in a rather long time.”

Evangeline Le Fay. I Location: On the way to crash Xero’s celebration.

Evangeline stood up as a sudden full flowing of deepened power rushed throughout her body. Magenta rays spewed from her hands as her eyes began to glow a shimmering tint.

But suddenly her powers turned dark, depressing and murky. The magenta glow in her eyes turned into one of cold, emotionless orbits.

Evangeline stood straight as her soft smile turned into one of a crooked smirk. She laughed maliciously before turning to the remaining hotel members.

“He destroyed my hotel, Teamed up with those bewitched women and kidnapped two of the hotel residents.” Evangeline stated in an almost sing song voice.

”What a fool…” Evangeline stated coldly as she summoned her staff only for it too turn dark and grew in length, A tinted blue crystal crescent formed in place of her typical bunny-themed head some sort of pulsating jewel hung from her staff.

Evangeline motioned for the remaining residents to follow her as she glided over the rubble and brittle pieces of wood scattered around the remaining hotel architecture.

Evangeline tapped her staff on the ground as her outfit changing into a long black and white dress with blue feather-like sheer cloth attached to it. Her sleeves with proofed in an old style alongside sleek black gloves accompanied with blue and silver accessories.

“One can be fashionably late, No?”Evangeline chuckled as venom dripped with every word.

As everyone walked down the street the lights flickered as a dark mist followed them. Evangeline’s shadows multiplied and seeped into the dark of the night to track Xero’s location. Once they found it they hastily scurried back to Evangeline and the rest.

”Thank you for the invitation, Jaxon.”

Toothfairy

Toothfairy had lagged behind the others a bit, going breifly to the ruins of his room to collect something important. As he tip-toed over the rubble that had strewn itself accross the floor, he was relieved to see that the chest of tools in the corner- dental supplies- had survived. He ran over to the chest and threw it open, digging through the dental tools to find what he actually wanted: A little panel of wood that stuck out a bit on the bottom of the chest. Lifting the panel, he revealed a secret compartment, with the three things he needed inside.

He ran out of the Hotel to catch up with the others, who had all left, except for Luscious, who was busy beginging to rebuild the place with her vines. He walked past her hastily, hiding two of the items he had into his pocket.

When he reconnected with the crowd outside of the kidnappers’ hideout, he saw Evangeline ready to storm in, looking like her old self again. Surely she wouldn’t need it, right? With how powerful she looks, no one would let her close enough to use it? Who was the weakest player here? He’d give it to them.

“Is everyone ready for this battle? Does anyone feel like they need… extra… protection?” He asked the group.

We both fell silent after that. Both trying to think of what to do but both unable to think of anything.

I sigh and was about to say something when the door opened. I look up timid and saw Xero had walked in.

He was as expressionless as always and I saw him mumble something in the line of ‘pathetic’. He walked to us and without saying a word he dragged us out. Unlike last time when he touched my shoulder, this time I did start to shake again. But just as every time I freak out or get scared, I freeze instead of scream. I’ve never screamed during my last 3 years either.

He dropped us in the middle of a bigger room where Erika and Myst were also present. At this point, my body apparently had decided that Malcolm was the most trustworthy and without thinking I moved a bit closer to him and away from those three.

“Is everyone ready for this battle? Does anyone feel like they need… extra… protection?” Toothfairy asked the group.

“I’m fine, Thank you.” Evangeline stated with a smirk as they arrived to the “celebration” the lights were gleaming soft music could be heard from the inside. Laughter, Minimal cheering and a few clinking glasses were heard alongside it.

With a simple snap of her finger the door to the largely sized ballroom was crushed and flung to the floor. Evangeline stepped over the door and into the room as the lights went dim, any candle that was once lit with golden flare sizzled out into the wax. A cold wind and dark mist swarmed into the once lively celebration.

Evangeline’s heels clicked as she slid her hand against the marble wall, With a small glance she noticed a struggling and tied up Malcolm and Cerys, And of course…Xero, Erika, and Myst all celebrating with beverages in hand and smile smalls or at-least a half decent one from the techno overlord himself. Evangeline smirked as her staff firmly hit the ground coming to a halt as she approached the three.

“Well…well…” Evangeline murmured with a malicious tone.

“What a glittering assemblage, Jaxon." Evangeline stated taking a final glance at the luxurious ballroom.

Evangeline took a moment to absorb the ambiance, As she walked up the small steps stopping at the carpeted stand.

“Royalty, Nobility, The gentry and…how quaint, even the rebel.” Evangeline stated with a false sad look towards Myst.

“I must say…I really felt quite distressed for not receiving an invitation.” Evangeline furrowed her eyebrows in a hurt manner as she looked at the two overlords and minion awaiting an answer.

“Oh? Was I not invited?” Evangeline trailed off her shadows surrounding every surface of the ballroom. Leaning lightly against her staff as her dark pupils glimmered in the light she looked down at Malcolm and Cerys and gave them a kind nod.

Turning back to Xero, Erika and Myst. Evangeline took a moment to look for a fake invitation them started again with a sinister tone. “Oh dear…” Evangeline began-

“What an awkward situation.” Evangeline placed her hand on her chest feeling slightly embarrassed as the end of her lip curled into a smile.

He just regarded this sudden turn of events with a mildly bored expression mostly from being overly absolutely done with just about everything. Xero wasn’t even that p*ssed compared to other losses, just really catty and in a ‘stabby’ mood. Naturally, he held his stance with the explosions crashing in the front doors, mentally calculating the price for replacements, but just admiring the amazing was his coat looked in the wind.

Evangeline, here, looking just as snappy as ever. He had to admit that the entrance was more of his thing, but quality nonetheless. She still had the spellbook though. Whatever happened next was partially research to document what that object could do.

“P*ss off, you’d never be invited if you tried,” Xero started, “and all this just sounds like a desperate gambit to be included in a party way above your standards. You didn’t just lose your invitation, all of us deliberately skipped over it because you’ll never be good enough. Xero flicked out his weapons, pointing the charged blaster at Evangeline, “You had your turn earlier, and you lost. Pentagram City no longer belongs to you, you’re obsolete. Now vacate this place before I make you.”

Malcolm Prime

Between all the explosions, Malcolm just squeezed his eyes shut, huddling in the corner until he felt a familiar presence. Still fumbling with his breathing, he did somewhat perk up with Eva showing up, enough to know that this entire party was officially compromised.

It was still a gamble, but he trusted that Eva would easily learn from her mistake and win for sure. They all needed to prevent this from happening though, so perhaps a more permanent solution was in place.

Of course, Malcolm still clung to Cerys in the aftermath. Even with the ray of hope, this entire unfamiliar place was starting to creep upon him, and Cerys seemed equally concerned. He forced another shakey inhale before turning to the other. “You said that they could borrow your powers, is there any way to stop that? We can’t let them render Eva powerless again.”

I look up to Malcolm and shake my head. “I don’t even know what power they use for it. The only power I know I have is that for understanding people and something happens when I’m really stressed out, but that hasn’t happened in over 70 years and its more something that breaks stuff” I explain as I look around in a panick, noticing the bat girl looking at me again with a grin and I move even closer to Malcolm.

Evangeline merely shifted her weight against her staff as she smiled with sheer delight, Jaxon’s attempt at a decent comeback meant nothing to Evangeline now, Her eyes saw nothing but emptiness her lack of conscious had overthrown her rationality at this point.

Xero flicked out his weapons, pointing the charged blaster at Evangeline, “You had your turn earlier, and you lost. Pentagram City no longer belongs to you, you’re obsolete. Now vacate this place before I make you.” Xero demanded.

Evangeline gave a false hurt look. “Well…Alright.” Evangeline stated as she turned on her heel and as she took a few steps dramatically turned back with one more phrase.

“To show I mean no ill will…At-least for the celebration. I will bestow a gift and congratulations to Jaxon.” Evangeline stated with a crooked smile before noticing the bat girl take a few steps towards a horrified Cerys. Evangeline smirked as she commanded a shadow to wrap around Myst.

The shadow dashed around her body as it forced her into a painful hold, With a dark mist and once flick of her finger Evangeline threw Myst through the air and onto the hard concrete floor by her wings. “Well! I can’t have you spot from handing such a precious gift to Jaxon can I?” Evangeline continued as she turned to Erika and launched her into a nearby wall. A deep crack formed alongside it.

Evangeline then snapped her head to Xero and flung his blaster to the side, Her dark orbs spiraled into magenta again as thick sharp vines wrapped around Myst, Erika and Xero trapping the two women against the wall and Xero in his seat. Evangeline’s dress slid across the floor as she approached Xero and took a moment to ponder on what she’d do.

Evangeline tapped her foot with a raised eyebrow.

As my body hit the ground, all I gave was a toxic hiss of anger. Right now, Eva is nothing but a nuisance. My eyes turn back to the fox girl. I didn’t care about the Watermelon but right now that girl was our only way of getting to Eva.

I looked up and thought of a plan. I moved my wings a little. They were sore but I could manage. I fly up. Fast flying was always fun for me, but now it was also useful. I quickly flew past Eva. Pushing past her in the hope she would at least fall as I made my way towards the two cowering together.

I pushed the watermelon away and grabbed the girl’s head. I first took her destruction power and used it to break the floor underneath Eva. It wasn’t going to do much, other than distracting her so Xero and Erika can get up. I then push the girl into Xero’s arms, knowing it would freak the girl out. As I push her, I copy the nullification powers again.

“you know Eva…” I said grinning with pure hatred as I land behind Xero. “You should really check what kind of demons you take into your hotel, your most promising resident is going to be the end of you,” I said as I gave Xero the nullification powers again and made my way towards Erika to help her up and give her the same

Erika glared at Evangeline with rage and hatred. That f!lthy woman probably had pledged not to spare Erika a couple hours to enjoy her victory over Eva. Evangeline launched her into a nearby wall making her back hit the wall but Erika just gave her a crooked smirk. “There you are, Eva darling! , she raised her staff magnetizing every sharp objects towards her, from a small knife to a broken glass. Then she made ring with them around the Evangeline. If Evangeline would try to take one step ahead or just raise her hand, all the sharp objects would cut into her skin and give her a painful death, until she respawned herself again… obviously. Erika saw the fish demon sneaking in from the corner of her eyes. She raised a piece of broken glass and pointed at him just before his nose,“Oh wow! What do we have here? Mr. Pierce?”, she said amused. “Y’know, I’m on your side, dazzling deer. So put this sh!t down…” Devin frowned before he turned to Evangeline, “A tiny revenge for kicking Miss Love”, he shrugged and blew a kiss toward Evangeline. Now that Myst came and helped Erika by sharing that nullification power. Erika shot a wink at Myst. “What would I do without you, Mystie”, she said and cackled

Myst angrily glared at Evangeline as Eva shot her a cocky smirk. Myst then flew past Eva purposely pushing past her with force, Evangeline’s clicked her heel back but didn’t flinch.

Evangeline watched a newly smiling Myst copy Cery’s power. Evangeline watched the light flickering from Cery’s…Whatever she was pulling wasn’t hers. Evangeline sighed with a subtle eye roll as Myst began to speak. “You know Eva…” Myst said grinning with pure hatred as she landed behind Xero. “You should really check what kind of demons you take into your hotel, your most promising resident is going to be the end of you.” Myst stated as she shared that same ability with Xero and Erika.

Then an equally angered Erika angrily stood up from the cracked floor. “There you are, Eva darling! I was waitin’ for ya to come and tease us with your old and boring come-back lines”, Erika shone her eyes in a red hue and freed herself from the vines. “Sadly I neither have time nor patience to listen to them… Look what you have done to my dress… Ugh!”, Erika gritted her teeth and clenched her fists, annoyed. Brushing off the dirt from the corner of her dress.

“Your welcome, I don’t understand how we’re from the same timeline and you still wear such tacky fashion.” Evangeline stated as she rubbed her temples surely hating the fact that Erika even existed.

Erika then surrounded Evangeline with multiple sharpened metals, glass from what was left of the window, Knives and other trinkets. Erika then ran over to Devin who attempted to sneak in as he easily took Erika’s side.

“You incompetent fool! I bare no care for your betrayal towards myself but your putting Cerys in more danger by yourself.” Evangeline stated with furrowed eyebrows.

Now that both Erika and Myst had the nullification ability, Ready to strike on Evangeline once more.

Evangeline rolled her eyes at their feeble attempt. “The same ability, Can’t you come up with something new?” Evangeline stated coldly with a smirk.

“That’s the problem with you Erika, Your powerful enough to at-least fight me on your own decently but you team up with others because you have no choice, That ability is the only thing withholding your fighting stance…You lack the proper function and stability to purely fight on your own. You only care about your greed and your own profit.”

“That’s why I’m stronger than you.” Evangeline chuckled with a sly smile as leaped into the air with full speed latching onto the wall.

“Go on then, Show me what you can really do.” Evangeline stated as their hands glowed with the spell still at bay.

“You know Eva, it’s kind of sad… You I mean” I said in a calm but clear tone after she challenged Erika. “You’re so blinded by your pride, you don’t even realize what is going on,” I said as I still stood behind Xero, not to hide, but to keep the fox girl from seeing me. I knew that if I exposed her true feelings, she would deny it if she even managed to get a word out.

“Why do you act like you suddenly care about the girl?” I ask. “Because it turns out she possesses a power that can encounter yours?” I ask. “Because let me tell you something about what I’ve learned based on her perspective,” I said.

" At first all memories of you aren’t about you at all, you’re just in the background, not even part of her memories. Then when you finally are stepping into her frame, she’s trying to explain how she’s struggling without her powers and instead of listening to her, you force authority on her by simply bullying her while she doesn’t have powers to defend herself from you, which is really sad on your part" I start and look at her, not even grinning or smug, just in all seriousness.

“Then you so-called ‘Rescue’ her from Xero and Erika earlier this day. However, instead of actually making sure she’s safe and secure, you turn your attention to these two and forget about her to the point you injure her more than these two ever intended”

“And now you are here, claiming to care about her, care about her feelings after you promised her safety, when once again, instead of getting them both out as soon as you can, you have to show off, prove you’re better than everybody else, because in the end… Nobody comes before you. You’re too proud and narcissistic to prioritize anyone other than your own ego and reputation” I said slowly and calmly.

“This girl has no faith in you anymore, even when she pretends she does. He doesn’t have faith in you” I said and point at the fish boy. “You’ve already lost, not because your hotel is gone, but because no one is going to put you before anyone else” I stated with not a single tone of hate or anger. It was the truth and there was no way for her to deny it.

Xero caught Cerys with about as must care in the world as he would have given them earlier - which was essentially entertaining the idea of shoving her and the watermelon demon back into the box. For his part, Cerys just looked mortified and that was a good enough of a reason for Xero to continue just holding her. It wasn’t even ay painful gripping and it wasn’t like the fox demon was doing much in retaliation.

Wordlessly, he accepted the nullification powers from Myst as she did her magic again. To say the least, she didn’t look that bad. Wild hair, a fierce personality. Lots of little details Xero had never considered before, but now that he was entertaining it. Myst was rather good looking.

She was also busy with her own speech with Evangeline. Xero shifted his focus back to Cerys before deciding to let her go. There was nowhere else to go and Xero had lost most of his motivation to really fight after Evangeline casted her whole spell thing. Either way, Cerys made amazing coats, had a nice sense of fashion, and a stark personality when she wasn’t terrified. In addition, the way her hair shown in the blast explosion was quite alluring, her ever caring cling to the watermelon.

All lovely, but Xero just sorta just pushed the watermelon and the fox demon behind the damaged bar, “Just stay here, I’ll figure out what to do with you later.”

The problem was there was no problem. He was in the midsts of the fight of his life and yet he wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. Stray thoughts raced through his mind, having altogether nothing to do with combat and more concerning other demons. Even if Evangeline managed to win this, the fish demon had switched sides, Cerys never liked her, maybe the watermelon demon was forever loyal, but the point was that no one trusted Evangeline anymore. That was far beyond the normal spectrum of victory, knowing that he’d completely totalled any hope of her every managing a decent relationship again should have been amazing.

And Erika actually looked pretty hot when she was p*ssed.

Xero angrily kicked at a wall before drawing weapons again before materializing by Myst and Erika, straying his gaze mostly on Evangeline.

“Use the nullification now, I have a better idea,” Xero proposed, “We know that this fight will just be ever happening and in order to finally get rid of Evangeline, we need more time. These ten minutes you can get me will be sufficient to construct the void portal from earlier.” Flashes of the red room fight were already prevalent within this, and last time, Evangeline was able to contain him in a time loop - and that was perfect.

“I’ll construct a time loop, not magically like normal, but a mechanical one that gives me full control over the setting. It would be akin to putting her in a perpetual sleep for eternity. If she isn’t conscious, then there is no powers to use. That’s how we win this once and for all.”

Catching the tail end of Xero’s plan, Toothfairy was terrified. It was perfect, and rather simple, too; so simple he was suprised the b*stards hadn’t thought of it before. He’d seen something like this during his previous line of work: A superior coworker with time powers similar to Xero’s had trapped a demon in a time loop where he was continually falling from the top of a building, sustaining more damage every time. He could still hear the cries of the demon’s spouse as he was eventually flattened into a red pulp.

He couldn’t let that happen to anyone here, espescially to Evangeline. Even though he’d never admit it, his time at the Hotel… It had been some of the only happiness he’d had ever since he’d been banished to Hell. From the initial rocky introductions to the cooking challenge where he’d discovered a rescipie he hadn’t used in years, from the chaotic hijinks of the power swaps to meeting new demons who were so much more than evil sinners; The Hotel had changed him, slowly and quietly, and if Evangeline was gone, all of the happiness he’d finally gotten would be gone. If Evangeline- That radiant, magnetic, charming demoness, The girl who’d lived in Hell for so long and yet still sought the best in people, The girl who’d helped him bake his pie- If she was basically killed…

Oh dear. It’s happening all over again.

But it didn’t matter. He couldn’t let her get hurt.

“Evangeline! Quickly!” He cried. Pulling one of the three objects from his pocket, he tossed it to her, a blur of hot pink flying through the air. He took out a second object from his pocket, the same as what he’d given to Evangeline, and armed himself with it. Unfurling his wings, he didn’t even try to hide the weapon anymore; there was too much on the line to worry about what the others would think. Instead, he brandished it for all to see, pointing it at the witch who was about to cast her nullificatioin spell: A collapseable spear, freshly cleaned and sharpened just for this fight, that was created only for an Exterminator to wield. It was one of the few remaining souveniers from his ugly past, and one of the few things that could really and truly kill a demon.

He only hoped that she wouldn’t see him differently after this.
