I think it depends on what type of character he is.
Because his characteristics and behaviour and background would help to choose the job.
For example if he is loving and caring but just unfortunately can’t be around a lot, I’d say something with long shift work, like a cop, fireman or doctor etc.
If he is pretty cold and distant and less caring something more formal that he chooses to work long hours, so like a businessman.

Impossible

Oh. Mine was a bakery technically. The main draw were the cookies, but we also had Baskin Robins and a big ass steampunk looking coffee machine

Kinda weird now I think about it. My time was spent split between scooping ice cream, making to-go lattes and decorating giant cookie cakes with icing in the middle

It would be nice to see a male nurse! I don’t see them in stories very often ^. ^

:joy: Making lattes was never bad when there was time, but they were a nightmare to make when you had multiple things going, purely as they took longer to make
I used to enjoy the pattern making though, although ocassionally I’d just extra stir the cappuccino milk and then make a tree :joy: run a spoon through it for extra effect.

Also depends on if you want them to be rich or poor or middle class and if you’re in the city or country???

He’s distant, he’s divorced, he’s still trying to get over it, he’s ignoring his kids, goes to work without saying anything. That kind of behavior.

I had to learn to make them fast unfortunately.

Always something going on. Unless it was a Wednesday, then I could draw

Kinda wish I had a job like that. My student job last year was selling my soul to the bastion of good journalism

He seems too involved in his own personal loss to do something like emergency service work, that requires proper focus on the job itself.
I wouldn’t suggest teacher either there, just simply because that would be a reminder of his children, who he is avoiding.
I would go with something like a businessman, or a shop owner. Something which takes him away from family life where he can then get lost in the work.

To be honest, I can’t wait! The Daily Mail was fun and loads of money, but I disagree with all their politics fundamentally
