I did used to have a thread that was herbal remedies vs non-herbal but this is more to talk about herbal remedies in general and if you use them so here are some questions:
Have you used them?
If yes did they help?
If no why not?
Would you recommend them?
Do you think they should be used more?
I’m not sure if its an herbal remedy… but theres this tea and its called ‘Cold 911’ and its a mix of peppermint, eucalyptus, and something else that I forget… but I swear every time I’m sick it helps so much
As an Asian, herbal remedies are part of life. Somehow in every simple dish or drink, there is some herbal ingredients in them
So…
Yup! Knowingly and unknowingly
I would say a little. It doesn’t truly cure, but it does help in terms of reducing the symptoms. But, usually it helps a lot in common colds.
I mean, sure. I can recommend the common, simple ones that does not affect the taste or doesn’t have any drastic effects. E.g. tea, ginger, turmeric etc
I would say its no harm in trying for these simple ingredients.
However, at all costs, avoid unknown traditional medications (you don’t really know what herbs are being used), cause its common that they add some sort of steroids etc, which will initially cure your illness, but later on will affect other organs, which in some drastic cases, it may lead to organ failure etc.
You may try with simple ingredients as mentioned, but never try unknown commercialised herbal products
