Historical Dramas

“A historical drama is a work set in a past time period, usually used in the context of film and television. Historical drama includes historical fiction and romances, adventure films, and swashbucklers.”

Some examples:

  • The Crown
  • Downtown Abbey
  • Alias Grace
  • Cursed
  • Victoria

My personal favourites:

  • The Queen’s Gambit
  • Story of Yanxi Palace
  • The Legend of Zhenhuan

Are you a fan of historical dramas?
If yes? What are your favourite dramas?

I loved historical telenovelas when I was a teen.
My favorites were:

  • Corazón Slavaje (the 1994 version)
  • Amor Real
  • Alondra
  • Si Dios Me Quita la Vida

These were ‘meh’:

  • Alborada
  • Pasión (I was an extra in one scene in that one)

I hated:

  • Corazón Salvaje 2009 version

There was a Brazilian historical novela that I loved in the beginning, called La Casa de Siete Mujeres, but it got so tragic and disappointing in the later episodes that it just left me with a bad taste. The final episode was especially tragic.

Lol no worries! I don’t care if you said posted it a second time! I’ve seen most of the show except for a few episodes here and there when I would be at work. If you like stories similar to Titanic then definitely watch Downton Abbey since it is based during that time period.

Yikes. I don’t though

Oh well, I’m just meaning it’s based during that time but on the British side of the Titanic story. It just sets the time period more than anything.
