Okay, Iāll pm you when I start doing physics and donāt understand something then ![]()

I hope school is going well for everyone in isolation. ![]()
Iāll try to help out with any question as best as I can. ![]()
Here are some sites I frequently use when studying maths (in case anyone is interested heh): symbolab.com, desmos.com and geogebra.org.
Does anyone know how to work with promises in JavaScript? ![]()
I need help ![]()
Promises? I donāt know much about JS oof
Aw⦠thanks for replying at least ![]()
Tf? They are the same.
rip, can anyone help with a math problem?
Nevermind, Iām good now
I need help lol. My brain isnāt working for simple algebra. Ok so basically if the y intercept is 8, and thereās -2x and thereās also -.98 Iād go up 8, down 2 then over .98 right?
Hey, would love to help but I donāt understand your explanation.
Could you send the question? ![]()
(If you havenāt solved it yet)
Itās a complicated problem actually but I got confused about the graphing aspect of it lol. Iāll attempt to send it however it has some stuff that I cannot/do not know how to put here:
So Iām supposed to make a graph about this problem and identify how it is different from itās parent function:
y= 8*-1
(*= x lol but couldnāt put it up there with the 8 cuz my keyboard doesnāt do that lmao)
So I made a table of values
when x= -2 y= -.98
x= -1 y= -.88
x= 0 y= 0
x=1 y= 7
this kind of threw me off because the numbers are just weird⦠especially jumping from one to 7 but I tried to roll with it yet the graph kinda looked weird. So I donāt think I did it right lol⦠umā¦
Thatās a really weird keyboard ![]()
If the function is:
y = 8x - 1
I kind of donāt get the numbers you get. It should be a straight light with the slope 8 and cutting the y-axis in -1.
Iām the point x = -2, y should be y = -17, not sure where you got -.98 from.
I might be reading the function wrong.
Or wait⦠the parent function? What does that mean? Is there another function involved? Lol
Oh no⦠Lol the x in the problem is above the 8.
like think of 8 to the second power, well this is Y= 8 to the x power -1
Lol yay I found the name!
Oh okay lol! So y = 8x^-1 ?
Waaait, you mean y = 8 to the power of 1/x ?
(Gotta get this function straight to help lol)
SO like in graphs, thereās a āgenericā graph function thing, and itās gonna be this generic position, and then when you change things on the graph it changes.
So like from looking at certain numbers you can tell if the slope is gonna be positive or negative, go up or down and even where to place stuff.
Closer? x IS the power, and the power is unknown. So pretend * is a little x. 8* - 1
lol if you havenāt heard of logarithms before/donāt remember/know them then I probably canāt use your help unfortunately.
Okay, so what is the problem? Finding the min and max of the function? Or just plotting it?
Do you have a graphing calculator?
I know them XD
I have to graph it. Hang on I took a pic of the problem.
