How do you Imagine your Fantasy Setting?

World building and setting are one of the core parts of the immersion and sometimes general premise that can make or break a story; even more so with fantasy. How do you imagine yours and what are some world building-esque things in your story you have added? (For example, something related to world building could even be a product a shopkeeper would sell. Setting… well you would just describe the setting of the world; its time and place.)

I put music on which puts me in a creative mood. Once, I’m in that zone I can imagine the scene without a problem unless I get interrupted by someone. Other ways are when I lay down put music in then play the scene in my head. Daydreaming is your friend when it comes to fantasy settings. I do take bits here and there from other media.

How do you imagine your fantasy setting? Do you have any advice for others?

I close my eyes, and let my imagination run wild.

I… Think growing up in an Euroepan Medieval World Heritage Site helps  I can just go with things I see everyday and improvise. Sorta.
