Humour is the quality of being comedic or amusing, especially in literature or speech. There can be different types of humour – light humour, dark humour, sardonic humour, dry humour etc.
Including humorous bits and pieces in your writing can make it more interesting to read. Often readers who come across a humorous line or part in a story have a laugh. It instils the reader’s engagement and they become eager to read on more.

I like to have all kinds of humour in my writing. Whenever I write something that I think it’s funny, I just laugh my head off!
Like when I add certain dialogue, it just creates humour when someone cracks a joke or make a sarcastic comment.
sometimes when i think of a dark joke i want to use, i hold myself back because someone might get ‘offended’ or view me as a bad person. i wish i didn’t have to feel that way…
For each character, I make them have their own sense of humor as I give everyone a personality and humans are made to laugh lol so it’s kind of just something you gotta add to everyone, even if they’re evil.
