I try coming up with new plots for some of my characters that I have been unmotivated to rp for
it usually lights the spark again

For me it’s really all about the character I’m playing. I try to have them appeal to me in a way that I don’t get bored using them

Yeah that’s good. If you want to stay motivated, than you should make a character you really enjoy playing.

Reminders to reply can be really helpful. Since I can’t keep myself from joining a fun looking rp, I sometimes lose track of where I need to reply. Reminders help.
Music sometimes helps too. Music will spark an idea for a character, whether it is a plot for an rp, a plot line between characters, or even a whole new character.
Developing plans and plotting gives you things to look forward to with your characters. Having something to look forward to makes it easier to reply and stick with an rp/character

Aside from what has already been mentioned, sometimes I just gotta force myself to write the first sentence or two, and by then, I’m usually good! May sound silly, but even if it’s pretty simple, like vaguely describing your character’s expression in response to another, it can help.

This is what I would have said! I think when you’re in a roleplay where it’s just endless conversation, it might get quite boring and repetitive, and it’s motivating to know that something more interesting is going to happen soon!!

I’ve found I stay motivated to roleplays when I have made some plans for the characters that I would really like to see done. (Mainly because it takes me FOREVER to think of plans, so I don’t like to waste them when I finally think of something haha!)

Right now I write journals in the mind of my character for each day in the RP based on their perspective and what happened

Ooooh that’s such a cool thing to do! I can hardly write journals for myself, I used to buy diaries for every year, fill out the first day and then leave it!

Yeah I only fill in a bit but it’s something to do, I usually write them in google docs and share them with people who are interested 
I am currently trying to write a story with one of my CHB characters as the MC

I just love doing it so I don’t lose motivation much because it’s something I enjoy. But if I do, I try to take a while to breath and maybe not reply for a while and take a small break so I won’t get all stressed and not motivated.
