I think 50+ minutes for an episode is very hard to pay full attention to (for me, at least) and it’s also hard to know which parts are important to watch as there would probably be a lot of filler in between. Unless the show is… the best, I prefer episodes do be 20-30 or 40 (at a push) minutes so I can commit to it. But, I think it is okay to have the season finale’s longer than the rest, which happens quite a lot.
I prefer 45-ish minute episodes. That’s about an hour when you add commercial breaks in. 20-30 minutes is short. That amount of time works fine for comedies and game shows, but most need those 45+ minutes.
Usually I think 20-40 mins would be ideal for me. I watched a Chinese idol producer show where each episode was 3 hours and each episode had two parts. So for two episodes, it was 6 hours. I have a short attention span so I got quite bored.
For me, it depends on the show. Like if it’s a super serious drama show then 50-60 min would be ideal, but if it’s like a fun light-hearted comedy then 20-30 mins would be ideal
I would say anywhere from 20-40 minutes. It really depends on the show, though, because some shows need longer episodes to effectively tell their story.
