How The Sims broke ground in 2001 with same sex coupling

The Sims has been a trailblazer in gay content in video games. Technically speaking, every sim is bisexual - they can fall in love and WooHoo with any sim as long as they’re in the adult age category. In 2001 they allowed sims in same-sex relationships to move in together and adopt a child, allowing them to do almost everything that sims in heterosexual relationships could do. They proceeded to advance the rights of these sims in the prior releases, allowing them to get fully married by 2009. What do you think about the Sims’ progress in gay rights?

Damn, it’s been 20 years…

It’s rad.

Actually…my lesbian couple has a teen daughter.

I definitely think it’s interesting and rad that this was included, it’s almost like a simulation game wanted to be as realistic as possible while still also being kinda silly, gotta love sims.

I like how they did it before the world ‘got behind it’. They totally broke ground in video games for this.
