It’s a very old song, and I never gave it much thought when I heard it as a kid. So I don’t consider it intentionally racist.

There’s a fine line with this, though, I guess! When people say “things were different back then”, what they really mean is “the people who were in charge didn’t listen to minorities when they said they didn’t like something back then”. It was never ok, but I don’t think they’re using the terms “red” and “yellow” as pejorative terms, so I’d say it’s more ignorant than racist

You’re right. And…it does rhyme.
I’m pretty sure the terms “white” and “black” have never had negatively racial origins unlike “yellow” and “red”. For black people, they made the N word and it’s not racist to call a white person “white” lmao.
