Verovanje u vilenjake

In my opinion,
Big Wave is an absolutely stellar album, however, it pales in comparison to other great works such as Variety by Mariya Takeuchi. Although they do fit into different subgenres, Big Wave is an album that doesn’t properly define what City Pop is. If anything, I’d say Variety by Mariya Takeuchi fits the position better. Although it’s an album that is rather doo-wop sounding, Variety has beach-y songs, country songs, and ballads. It’s more varied than Big Wave which offers a consistent sound throughout the entire album. Again, I understand that I’ve mentioned thy appeal to different subgenres, I truthfully believe that Big Wave is just a Western album with Tatsuro’s name slapped on it. With that said, Variety by Mariya Takeuchi should be in that spot since it’s much more eclectic and offers a better idea of what exactly city pop is, in my humble opinion.
