Learning To Drive!

I haven’t quite started driving yet, but am currently studying for the learner’s permit test. Any tips? These can also be tips about driving in general!

The manual so far is boring and I am using a copy I got online so I can’t actually hold it which is mildly infuriating.

If you can learn to drive a manual, do it. Then you know how to drive both a manual and an automatic. Automatic drivers really struggle with manual cars. In my country, you’re not even allowed to drive a manual if you took the automatic test.

This is probably a not to needed topic anymore but because I have a habit of dredged up old topics lets do this!

I started driving when I was 11, and by driving I mean my grandmother would let me drive her truck in circles around the farm. It was fun.

But for driving in general I recommend a couple of things

  1. When you get a car don’t be an a-hole and play your music super loudly, especially if your driving by residential areas (people always do that when im trying to sleep)
  2. Don’t feel the need to go overly fast, go the speed limit as best as you can but its relatively okay if your slightly above or below it, just make sure it’s still in like a 2 above or below range.
  3. Do not drive a car you don’t feel comfortable driving, I had an uncle who hated trucks and only felt comfortable and safe in SUVs, plus he was just better at driving SUVs. He took my grandfathers old truck and went to the store, he ended up getting in a car accident, obviously, it might not have been because he wasn’t as good with trucks but it could be been.
